I expect ‘sapphire’ things to be a deep blue too… which is silly (seeing as how none of my sapphires are!) but I guess it’s hard wired. What about green sapphire? They’re usually kinda blue-green like this, that’s the kind of stone I have set into my engagement ring. It’s very pretty and kinda exotic.

The colors on this bring to mind:

    Aurora
    Green Opal
    Ammolite (this sounds silly though)
    Hummingbird
    Auroras
    (Color-enhanced) Nebula photos
    Tropical ocean
    Viridian
    Aurora

    😉

Yes! Yes! Another Hummingbird fan! 😀

I also reallly like Viridian 😀

I was thinking about this while offline and i agree that having a gem related name does go with the other names, maybe something like Emerald Marine?

I still like Viridian best. Aurora isn’t a color or a stone, so it wouldn’t fit with any of the other color names.

Peacock, Brown, Black and Ggold, Gold and Green are not stones either

I just came up with Triton since he is supposed to be the King of the seas

Brown and green are colors, and Black Gold is a color with a precious metal. So they fit the list. Sorry for not specifying. 🙂 Peacock is the only one not a color or precious material by definition, and even that is used as a color name.
I still think listings like “Windestone Edition Male Dragon in Neptune” or “Triton” would sound strange.

Well my second choice would be to side with Melody-Scarab!

          Windstone Editions Scarab Male Dragon

But…now that I think about it, Scarab sounds like it should be jewl tones of maroon, deep green, navy blue, with lots of gold.

But its still a pretty name! I like spacey names. Nebula, Comet (what about Comet!?) Asteroid, Jupiter….its too bad Uranus has such a bad name, because its such a beatuful planet. Its my favorite one…horrific name aside :p

            It is very beautiful. 😮

scarab is a type of beetle

black gold was used to refer to oil back in the day
which I think is fitting because the wings look like to colors you see on top of oil

            I like nebula 😀 .

I think it is a type of coal. That is what the peacock dragons are painted after, not the bird. http://imagesource.allposters.com/images/pic/NGSPOD01/100334~Close-View-of-a-Large-Chunk-of-Peacock-Coal-Posters.jpg
John, the husband thing, came up with Blugruple, Griffin, the brother thing, came up with Empphire.

It kind of reminds me of the sea 🙂

                  Seafoam?

Of course, now we need a sea-dragon in that colour :O

                  I also like Viridian 🙂

I liked “Ocean Jade” or “Seafoam.” Scarab makes me thinks of scabs. 😕 Maybe “Sea green?” I kinda like that.

I kinda liked Empphire- emerald and sapphire- it works 🙂

I like it, but it sounds alot like a pose. You know… like emperor. Its a cool name, though.

I vote for aquamarine. Viridian is also good, but I think a lot of people wouldn’t know what that is…I had to look it up….

Learn something new every day! I always wondered about that because the Peacock coloration always looked too purple to me to be from peafowl! LOL

Empphire sounds cool, if you don’t think you might confuse it with Emporer heh heh
