I’m sure y’all have heard the phrase “What goes around, comes around”? And the power of positive thinking? Well, between all of us here thinking not so great thoughts at ol’ Bob here should be enough to give him a fairly lengthy stretch of bad luck.
I’ve seen this happen enough in real life that I really wouldn’t want to be this guy for the next few weeks. 😈 And I wouldn’t be at all surprised to hear that somewhere down the line in the near future, that Leigha gets some money from an unexpected source. If this happens, be sure to let us know, okay?April 27, 2008 at 7:50 am #693282well, if your theory is correct, then I must have done something bad to have lost the money in the first place O.O *tries to look innocent*
I sorta kinda believe in karma sometimes lol
I do hope this man gets what he deserves -.- at the very least, he’ll get what’s coming to him in the afterlife.
And if I come across unexpected money I’ll for sure let you know which windstone I decided to buy with it 😀 lol

Not so! You acted in good faith, believing he would do the same. Since he didn’t return the act in kind, that opens the door for him. Now, had you done something like steal the money that you sent to him, then yes, I’d agree with you. 😉 Here’s to thinking you’ll get the money back, and be able to get that new windstone. 😀
April 28, 2008 at 9:02 am #693284Sorry about this hassle, Leigha. 🙁 I hope you get reimbursed somehow.
April 28, 2008 at 11:39 am #693285that just irritates the heck out of me…I hope you get your money back. I’m just grateful for you that it wasnt hundreds of dollars. 😯
April 28, 2008 at 3:11 pm #693286Hmm. I have to say that I would find out whether or not the MO was cashed, then go from there. I would leave him a polite message telling him that I have PROOF he received and cashed my MO, and I obviously got no dragons, and I want him to cut me a check for what that MO was worth. And then, if he ignored me and/or fought the request, I would let it go.
But. Before I let it go, I would leave him a message that would hopefully send him on one heck of a guilt trip! 👿 Something like “I sincerely hope you understand that what you did to me was mail fraud and illegal, but I also hope you understand that it was morally wrong. I hope you’re proud of yourself.” Not that he would feel bad about it, but one can hope.
Just me, though. I hate to hear stories like this 🙁
April 28, 2008 at 3:27 pm #693287When a similar thing happened to us, e-bay told us to be carefull with anyone requesting money orders becuase they are a lot more likely to be scams. According to them, there was really no way to track it down and get your money back. Sad to here it happened to you. Good luck with whatever you do. 🙁
April 30, 2008 at 7:37 pm #693288I am just seeing this thread and I’m darn sure I paid for those same dragons! $10 a piece and $25 for shipping. Peacocks? Robert Pringle?
April 30, 2008 at 7:43 pm #693289And mine was by check…
April 30, 2008 at 7:47 pm #693290I think I found his number online- (I have it somewhere on a piece of paper but can’t find where) is he the one in richmond, ca I’m almost positive that rings a bell when I google it. Anyhow just called and left a message that I’ve filed internet fraud, postal fraud, and will be in contact with his local police department that I suggest he returns my money or sends the dragons which at this point I’m pretty sure he doesn’t have.

If the check hasn’t cleared yet go to your bank and put a stop payment on it immediately. Then he can’t get any money from it.
April 30, 2008 at 7:50 pm #693292It cleared like 2 weeks ago 🙁 And stop payment is $30 the check was only $50
April 30, 2008 at 7:52 pm #693293Just called his PD and they say I need to file a report with MY pd (i’m in Wisconsin!) and then they will call theirs to go out and check up on it. A lot of sense that makes!
May 1, 2008 at 12:20 am #693294This whole thing just seems very strange to me. It seems like this guy is taking a lot of risk and abuse to con a small amount of money. Even if five people paid him for the dragons, that’s only, what, $250? It just seems very strange…Maybe he thought people wouldn’t go to the trouble to get $50 back?
I get the feeling it wasn’t a premeditated thing, but that he talked himself into believing the ‘whoever’s money gets to me first gets the dragons’ thing (which is ridiculous), and then he talked himself into keeping everyone else’s money, or came onto some hard times, or something else.
It just seems like a very bad premeditated con job, if that’s what it was. I think the situation has just snowballed on the guy. Not that it’s any excuse to steal people’s money. It just strikes me as very weird.

well atleast you know he’s cashed your check. The post office won’t/can’t tell me whether my money order has been cashed yet or not. I have to pay 4 dollars to have a bank tell me if it’s cashed or not after giving the guy 30 days to do it…what kind of idiot came up with this system?
