This picture was taken already framed, I didnt take it out cause it was REALLY hard to get it in there. Hope you can make them out ok. This was drawn with ink pen.February 14, 2007 at 2:04 pm #537011It looks like hash-marks, crosshatching, and a bit of stippling to me. Is that what you meant by geometric patterns?

February 14, 2007 at 6:24 pm #537014Thanks, and YUP, they are really nice….the guy who did this one for me also did a Dragon one for me..VERY cool as well. He gave me a HUGE discount on doing them for me since I was his bartender LOL. Each one cost me $60. He normally charges anywhere from $150-$500 for them depending on what you want and how much detail is having to go into them. He also has some of his artwork in a museum. But I forget which one he had said. 🙄
Actually I have one more that isnt framed yet, still in MINT condition…that I have had for 3 years, that I dont know what I am going to do with and cant BARE to throw it away, I was thinking about selling it on Ebay or Furbid. Its got a huge leopard head in the center and leaves around him. It isnt framed or anything, if you guys are interested let me know and I will take some more pics of it for you. I’d rather offer it to friends than to strangers first. 🙂February 14, 2007 at 7:27 pm #537015Ooooo, yes please post pics.

My laptop died and I never got around to posting the pics. Thanks very much by the way!
Unfortunately neither the string are or the other pictures are what I was looking for…Imagine a piece of graph paper. Now in each little square is lines drawn in different directions. The first square may have the lines drawn horizontally. Then next, verticle.
Depending on what the picture is supposed to be i.e a dolphin, is how the lines are drawn and how dark or bold they are.
The finished product is a big murial that you can vaguely see the lines, but the picture really pops.Think of the large pictures made up of tiny photographs. Kind of like that, only with drawn lines…
Thank you all for trying to find information for me. You all never cease to amaze me!February 14, 2007 at 9:21 pm #537018No problem! 😀 , if you happen to find anything about what you ARE looking for please forward it to me! I would love to see what you are talking about, it sounds SOOOOOO cool.
February 16, 2007 at 12:25 am #537019Is this kind of what your talking about

If you look at the picture larger you can see that it’s lots of little squares with differnt images in each. I’ve done others of these. You gride out the page and the start filling in with art so the “bigger” pictures shows up. I can’t remember what these are called. Some times they are done with just shapes and not picrures.February 16, 2007 at 12:50 am #537020Aw, that dragon one is soo cool.
DC, How much you want for it. What size is it? We can discuss this in PM if you want.

Like all vertical lines, or all horizontal in the next square.
Geesh. I could have been smoking crack and dreamt the whole thing! (that was just a joke. I don’t smoke crack)!

Nah, no dream. I know what you are talking about but still haven’t found an example of it. Very annoying. Lol, oh well, when I forget about it, that’s when it will appear 🙂

February 16, 2007 at 4:32 am #537024I used to do string art when I was in school. My math class of all things did it in 6th grade and a few of us got pretty elaborate (we were the advanced class and our teacher was a lot of fun and a good teacher!).
Oh, now I have to see if I can dig up the name of that art with the patterns in the boxes. We had to do something in that style when I was in high school as a project. *goes to wrack brains over name*
