I sorta went completely opposite of ‘Traditional’ with my foo pup… my mom gave me the idea XD soon as she saw him she’s all “He looks like a Cheshire cat!” annnnd it stuck XP
So here is my Cheshire Pup! – Photos may be a lil washed out.. Might try for better photos when it isn’t so bright out, lol..
He hasn’t been clear coated yet, I dunno if I’d want satin or gloss, so I think I’ll let the buyer choose 🙂 … also his eyes aren’t glued in, they’ll be replaced with either yellow, gold or metallic teal.. also buyers choice 🙂
His lil swirl markings are blue-green shift paint, though honestly it mostly shows up in green, but the tone shifts a bit, so it’s still very neat… he also has some pink-purple shift on him.. though it was used more as an interference paint, the pink doesn’t really show up, so he has some areas that’s more the base coat that’ll shift into a purpley-blue color.. also a pretty neat effect on him 🙂
He is for sale! Thinking I will go over and put him in the classifieds for offers 🙂

Tiny brush (20/0 round for the swirls) and a steady hand XD… a certain mix of insanity for trying, lol!

Thanks! Your lil tiger is quite cute! 🙂 So is your other baby! I love what everyone has done so far 🙂
If you have a hobby lobby close by you can get the 20/0 round brush for like $4… it’s “Espresso” brand, found in the artist brush dept. and in my opinion, on a foo pup, totally worth the buy! If that seems just too small to want to bother with, if you go into the model cars section there should be a set of “Hobby Brushes” for like $4 for 5 or 6 brushes, n in that set you get a 10/0… I never painted with a brush larger than 5/0 on my foo, lol…

I just love him . So colorful .He hasn’t been clear coated yet, I dunno if I’d want satin or gloss, so I think I’ll let the buyer choose 🙂 … also his eyes aren’t glued in, they’ll be replaced with either yellow, gold or metallic teal.. also buyers choice 🙂

Sometimes getting a ‘close up’ focus is difficult, if your camera has a macro mode, turn it on 🙂 (The flower setting) that’ll help! 🙂
Also for anyone who was looking at my foo’s classified, there is an edit on the end date.. went from the 29th to the 26th since I might be out of town on the original end date, lol! – Good to think about these things ahead of time XD lol
August 20, 2012 at 12:22 am #885086I shall try the macro setting once I am done touching little tiger up, thanks!
Think I will put rainbow blue Skittles up in the classifieds tonight =) not tiger though, I don’t think he is suitable for selling

All I did was take a very watered down cup of tea and use a paintbrush to cover the whole piece with it so it had a very pale color to it. Then I used a half a cup of tea (with two teabags in it) to try and darken certain areas on the piece. Since the Pup took the stain slowly, I just went over those areas repeatedly until I was happy with the color! It was so super easy and it even left him smelling great! Hahaha! 🙂
Did you prime him first, or did you just stain the gypsum?
Life is beautiful.
August 20, 2012 at 4:38 am #885100I can’t get over how beautiful everyone’s Foo Puppies are! I seriously can’t choose which ones are my favorites! (I can only imagine the excitement that will arise once the Foo Mothers come out! They’re going to be a thrill to paint!)
~~~
**Scathach, I didn’t have to prime him with anything -other than tea! All I used were 3 cups of tea and a paintbrush! (Two cups to paint with and one cup to drink! Haha!) 😉August 20, 2012 at 5:01 am #885101OMG! cheshire Foo = Genius! he’s AWESOME!
Haha, Thanks! 😀 he’s so darn cute in person with how all his colors act… I’d keep him if I were a fan of pink.. but even as a Cheshire I’m just not that fond of pink, haha XD
