More WIP pics – He’s almost done! I need to do the antiquing, final clear coat and put in his eyes and felt pad. Again, the metallic paint is so hard to photograph you might not see the subtle differences on this round of pics. I added some gold accents on his tail/wing feathers, on his chest feathers and his beak.

After doing an initial clear coat to make sure the existing paints were solid I was going to use a very liquid (watered down) black to rub into the feather crevices to help them pop a little. I don’t think it will detract too much. We’ll see how it works. ^_^

This weekend I started the base coat for a PYO Phoenix. And while I have some time this week, I hope to paint the Phoenix and continue painting two PYO Dragons which I started a couple years ago for my two Nephews. Hopefully I’ll have all three done for Holiday gifts this year. I’m crossing my fingers! ^_^

I couldn’t post WIP pics because she was a Christmas Gift for a forum friend. But since she has now been unwrapped by the recipient I can post pics of the final Phoenix….
Here she is! Based on an Umbrella Cockatoo… I had fun painting my first Phoenix and I’m glad she was such a pleasant surprise. ^_^
