They can call it “angel hair” all they want, but we know what that sh*t really is! You know what else is in Australia…Pern!

Have you ever seen Charlotte’s Web? The baby spiders do that in the movie.

We should all meet up in the skies over Pern. What color dragon will you be riding?

Brown here, good fighting size and stamina, less responsibility!

I would love a white one like Ruth.
A Gold Queen is my second choice though.

Brown or blue for me. I wouldn’t want any of the female dragons. No interest in swooning into the arms of any ‘ole bozo whose dragon happens to catch the female dragon.

I’m perched atop the royal back of Alorith, my noble blue.

                        …females can ride blues, right?

You can ride whatever dragon chooses you upon hatching! If it happens to be a blue, then absolutely!

Early in the series they didn’t let women participate in the hatching ceremonies for the non-Gold dragons. I don’t know if they changed that later but early on, only guys rode blues, greens, browns and bronzes. At least until a Green chose a girl from the audience. Golds were only ridden by women.

Personally, I thought it would have been a scream if a Gold dragon had ever chosen a guy for its rider.

Warner Bros did option the series from Anne McCaffrey’s estate less than a year ago, so the Dragonriders just might make the big screen yet. And Peter Jackson did the same with Temeraire, so…………

And yesterday I pulled out all my Dragonrider books – I think that will be a summer project – read them ALL (including the 2 or 3 later books I never read. 😀
