OHHHHHHHHHHH I want one soooooooooo bad… 🙂No you didn’t miss them. 😀 They are still on the hourly drops and the five minute drops. If you have summers and breed them you will get an autumn. I bred mine to my blue water dragon and got four Autumns!! Of course you can only keep one so there are Autumns showing up on the abandoned page as well 8)

I have to try and grab one of the AUTUMN dragons from the cave… 🙁
They are actually called weather or Seasonal Dragons and the description is something like “This egg reflects the weather outside” Once you have them and can breed the eggs will correspond with the season no matter which season your Adult is from. 8) We just refer to them by the Season they are born in. 😀December 8, 2008 at 9:36 pm #678251December 13, 2008 at 5:34 am #678252Hey everyone right now there is a major glut of eggs on the abandonded page and until things clear up there won’t be any drops on the main page so if you have some room why not adopt an egg or two? Modt of them are vines and blacks, but there are ocassionally other eggs as well.
December 14, 2008 at 6:39 pm #678253Just so you guys know. The elt eggs for the alt black and alt vine dragon no longer exsist. The alt versions of the hatchlings and adults exsist, but you can no longer tell by looking at the egg which one is an alt and which one isn’t.
From TJ09 on why someone’s alt black egg suddenly looked like a regular egg.
Quote:Sorry for the late response, I’ve been busy developing a new way of balancing the breeds out. Because right now, the site sees all dragons of a breed as the same. This means that, come time for winter dragons, the site will see all of the summer and autumn dragons and decide that there’s plenty of season dragons, and that they don’t really need to be especially common, even though there would be very winter dragons.
Instead, the site will know which specific alts of dragons are not available, and thus won’t bother considering them when trying to balance the numbers of each breed.
But none of that (even it it does have to do with alts) is related to this.
This occurred because someone asked why alternate dragons exist. And when I stopped to ponder this, I recalled that the feature was created because the site was too “linear.” You see an egg, and you know which adult dragon that you’re getting. The first steps away from linear hatching sequences were the two breeds with gender-specific sprites. When you pick up an egg from one of those two breeds, you may generally know which dragon you’ll get, but not which sprite you’ll end up with.
And upon knowing why the alternates feature was implemented, it follows that separate egg sprites for alternates do not make sense.
Alternates are the same breed as the original breed. Just as the possible silvers are the same breed, so too are the possible vine dragons. Different eggs generally denote completely different dragons. Even some of the current alternates that use different eggs (E.X. summer and autumn) result in completely different adults.
And now, commence flaming while I go get some sleep (Only to wake up in 4 hours. =/)

December 15, 2008 at 3:55 pm #678255I’m still a little lost there
December 15, 2008 at 7:09 pm #678256You know the alt versions of the black and dark green/vine dragons? Well it used to be that you could tell that you got an alt by looking at the egg. For the black it was a darker, more purpley egg and for the dark green/vine dragon the shadow on the bottom of the egg was in sharper contrast. Here’s a graphic showing the difference before (normal eggs on the left, alt eggs on the right):
With the new change all the eggs will look like normal black and normal dark green/vine eggs. You’ll have to raise the egg to a hatchling to find out.
December 16, 2008 at 7:42 am #678257OK kewl more of a mystery. I thougth he was getting rid of some of the alts??
December 16, 2008 at 3:59 pm #678258No he’s not getting rid of the alts, just the egg that let you tell right away that it is an alt.
December 16, 2008 at 7:55 pm #678259YAY… 😀 I finally snagged the egg that I wanted… 😀
