Naw, I just call them what they are (sun dragon, spectral, etc).
May 2, 2008 at 7:32 pm #695706I haven’t really named any of mine except an emerald lap called Alfred. A cookie for anyone who can tell me where that comes from. But, each time I look at my green culie that PT helped me get I think of her. So, I guess you can say I’ve nicknamed the curlie Phoenix Tears.

My guess was on Batman’s butler, Alfred T.C. Pennyworth, since the lap looks so attentive. Other than that, the only other things that come to mind are Alfred (Hitchcock) and King Alfred.
May 2, 2008 at 9:19 pm #695710Some of mine have names. Some don’t. 😉

I know why you named him Alfred, but only because you posted it many, many, moons ago. Otherwise, I’d have never known. Can I still have a cookie?
May 4, 2008 at 2:57 am #695712I always named my PYOs. Their name usually come to me while I’m painting them. As for my production peices (what few I have compared to some of you guys 😛 ) I have only named one. Its my coiled BG momma dragon. My husband got her for my birthday (as well as the rainbow hatching emperor and empress 😀 😯 ). I call her Lily after my black cat, Lily. The dragon reminds me of her… all sleek and shiny 😀
May 4, 2008 at 3:03 pm #695713The only one that has a name so far is Smrgol, my brown old warrior. I had to name him that after Smrgol from The Flight of Dragons, my childhood favorite… Smrgol was an old warrior dragon that fell in battle.
Thisis the only photo I could find of him online, and the colors are goofed up! He was mostly brown, with a yellowish belly. Good ole Smrgol.Volunteer mod- I'm here to help! Email me for the best response: nambroth at gmail.com
My art: featherdust.comMay 4, 2008 at 3:27 pm #695714I’ve only two so far (an old peacock male dragon and a male brown griffin). Neither have names yet; my boys call them the gaurdian and the protector since they sit by the front door in the entry way, but I don’t know which sculpt has what name….. you’d have to ask Sean & Ethan 😆

Any particular reason you chose G?
And ooh, I like “Helios”! 🙂 I have a couple of Greek/Greekish names picked out for future dragons, myself. 🙂
Interested in buying or trading for: GB Pebble Sitting Red Fox in dark grey, Lap Dragon Test Paints (Water Sprite, Glacial Pearl, Opulence, Pastel Rainbow, and many others - see my Classifieds ad), Blue Morpho OW, GB Pebble Loaf dragons in blue/aqua/teal, and Griffin Test Paints (Black Rainbow or Frosted Jade).
May 7, 2008 at 6:11 am #695716May 7, 2008 at 6:14 am #695717The only one I have named is My Black Griffin Male and I named him Skandranon, leader of the gryphons in the book “The Black Gryphon” by Mercedes Lackey and Larry Dixon. This is an awesome book series that I highly recommend to everyone.

I have that book. Skandranon’s the only thing I remember. Though the whole book just annoyed the crap out of me at the time, so I didn’t get very far (I dislike names with a million apostrophes and ones I have to re-read multiple times to attempt to say in my head). It’s been a decade now, and some of my tastes have changed, so I’ll pick it up again once I’ve finished a bit more of my book list.

😆 Well, I don’t have any cookies right now. But, I do have peanut butter banana bread with chocolate chips…. Will that do?
