Here’s my latest painting I thought I would share:
Its the largest watercolor I’ve painted to date (11×14) and its a portrait of a friend’s cat 🙂

magic salt. 😀 haha. i wet the entire part that i want to have the effect with clean water. then i add in wet color randomly and while its still very wet, i sprinkle coarsely ground sea salt onto it. let it dry. then brush away the dried salt. pretty simple. sometimes i go back in with a darker color and add depth to the pattern that the salt made. you can use regular table salt, but that gives it more of a uniform effect since the grains are all the same size.
