The one I have in my bedroom is a Pulaski collectors curio and it is also rated for 25lbs a shelf. I think I paid $900 or so for it.
May 21, 2007 at 10:20 pm #579088I have a weight chart for the current Windstones items and some other things, like Spectrals, that have been out before. Let me know if you want to know the weights of anything. 🙂
May 21, 2007 at 10:25 pm #579089I wish I could get a proper curio! I have two little ones, which really aren’t the best for displaying things, they’re too short, and too small, and right now far too crowded!
How much does an old warrior weigh? One of mine has a glass shelf, and I’ve got two old warriors on it, but that’s all I have on it at the moment. It’s the only shelf not jammed full of stuff, actually.

Ohh that would be wonderful….could you scan the chart and email it? That would be sooo great!!!
May 22, 2007 at 3:26 am #579091The Old Warrior weighs 12.46 pounds. I don’t think I should email the chart since I only got it because I’m a dealer. But let me know if you want to know weights of things, and I’ll try to let you know what they are. If Susie says it’s okay, I’ll email it to people, but I have to get the okay first.
May 22, 2007 at 8:32 am #579092Honestly I’ve never liked curio cabinets.
Yes, they make it so you have to dust the pieces less often and pieces look cooler/ more regal when they’re behind glass but in that same token you can’t see them!
Unless you install a light on the inside of the top and sides of curio cabinets, there SO much glare no matter where you place it or how much/little light you put on it, it ruins getting to see the pieces for me.
Plus the shelves make it so you have to dust the shelves as well as the pieces and glass is a difficult thing to keep clean and streak free in in a high traffic area.
I cheat by using leather hides as a base. I learned this trick when I was in Italy and got hit for dust being on my shelves no matter how close to inspection I cleaned them- they would just get dust on them in the span of a few minutes. Put leather down and the dust didn’t show quite so much.
Hey, could’ve been the VOLCANO next to us, but whatever. 😆

Hahahaha! I hadn’t noticed, but it’s true. Not that she needs any recharging… btw, that’s a 13-year-old-dog who thinks she’s still a puppy 😀 though she’s slowed down quite a bit in the past 3 years.

He does, doesn’t he? Well, have no fear. That picture was taken in March. Since then, I put my sapphire PYO, and last week, I had to resuffle them to include… my gold emperor! Pics to come for sure.

I had mine out in the open until I got cats. That’s the only reason I went and got a curio. I’d just cry if the cats broke another one. (They broke a pegasus I was repairing, right when I was nearly done putting him back together!)
May 22, 2007 at 9:22 pm #579096Thats why mine are in curios now too. Three demons masquerading as cats. They knocked a scone off the wall which shattered and it chipped my gardian dragon and broke my wolf council in half 😥 👿
May 22, 2007 at 10:51 pm #579097My cats names are Mephistopheles (the devil character from Christopher Marlowe’s “Faustus”) Tatsu (which is japanese for Dragon) and the newest one just got named….Chupacabra (Chewie) for the south american monster that kills farm animals….
You should see my arms with the newest kitten. All scratched up…
That is a big reason I am buying another curio….This will be my 4th if you include my built in glass fronted cabinets. Plus the dusting is much less. I have a pewter/ misc dragon collection….my Anne McCaffery Books, my collection of German crystal and Rosenthal stars…. not to mention my Windstones…
I can’t protect it from the cats unless its behind bars or glass…
May 23, 2007 at 2:39 am #579098I sadly can’t afford curios or cabinets (plus I have no room in my room). They’re all out on my huge desk and hutch. They get dusted every week when I’m bored. 😀
I plan to turn my empty closet into a display room though, once I figure out where to move all their boxes.
