The plastic bills are AWFUL. I have been a cashier since before those horrid things came out and I hate, hate, HATE them! They’re hard to flick through when you’re counting and the fact that they melt is a huge BOOOOOOO! (I’ve heard many stories of people who left their money in their cars coming back to a useless puddle of very expensive plastic. NO THANKS!) The old bills were indestructable enough – I once found one in a LAKE and it was fine – I spent it the next day. You could run ’em through the dryer by accident just fine without them getting harmed and as for cashier work, they were easy to count and pull apart; there was never any situations of accidentally grabbing more than what you wanted out of your wallet because they didn’t stick together. These new horrid plastic things? Not so much. Back to paper please!
Plus, the new bills are just as counterfeitable as the old ones I’ve heard, which negates the whole point of them. As you can tell, I really hate these things and I hope no other nations moves to using them. I have yet to meet a single person that actually likes using these new bills!
I refuse to spend my remaining pennies; I’m quite fond of them and I hate seeing them destroyed but I am a very sentimental person that way.
