My pieces are done by hand with brushes, and take a minimum of 25 hours each to do- the emperor even longer- so there is no realistic way to make them production or even limited production! Even the artist’s edition of Labradorite griffins took me over 6 months and I only made 7 adults (4 males, 3 mommas)! that’s why they’re so unique and special.
If I come up with something Windstone really likes and they can figure out how to airbrush there is always that possiblity, but to be clear if that ever happens the pieces will probably end up being quite different than mine and not as detailed. Most of my pieces have a many, many thin layers of paint to build up color in order to get the look they have, which I’m sure Melody is sitting at her computer making the “GROSS!” face at the thought of trying to do that with airbrushes! 😆
Oh, I know that it takes you long hard working hours to create the pieces that you do. I was just teasing you! We all love the colors you come up with, and I know I can only dream about having one of your creations… unless I save up for a few years! But, I thought I did read in another thread somewhere that they’re thinking of not making all of your pieces OOAK and open editions forever. I could be wrong though. 😕
i dotn know why..but im just not a fan of the old brown colour..so thats the one emperor i will not be searching high and low for lol

I hate to be confusing about that! Essentially, we are leaving my pieces as ‘unique artist’s editions’ meaning that of course each one will be ‘OOAK’ in it’s own way (this is going to be ESPECIALLY true for any dragons I paint, as their colors are achieved through so many layers I cannot truly duplicate it) but I may make more than one of any given ‘color’. Does that make sense?

Yes, it makes sense. I understand that those are called open artist’s editions. I must have misread that thread then… wherever it was. I was just doing some wishful thinking I guess! I look forward to seeing how that Neptune Emperor does on Ebay… that’s where he’s going right?

Are you thinking of selling yours DM? No, he just likes to point out that he has, like, 8 emperor dragons, to include the old brown… which is like the Holy Grail of Windstones. He is very proud. Thats alot of Emperors.
Of the emperors I think my favorites are the old green and the black gold….I think the violet flame might be pretty neat too when it comes out though. 😀

Good idea. You’re saving yourself a lot of time. They don’t turn up very often and go for $800+ when they do.

Not really bragging or pointing it out. I’m really worried I may have to sell some things soon and I do not know if that will even help right now. I would start with my FM dragons before my Windstones. Windstone was my first passion. Yes I have all of the first 8 Emperor’s but everyone here already knew that or most did at least. They are on the first show your Windstone Collection page 19. If things do nto pick up I may need to turn my car in and make it thru some winters with just a motorcycle which is NASTY
