I have the money and the desire and yet the notif went out at 3 AM again. Guess who is stuck looking at the ‘Out of Stock’ button? I’m starting to think that this is simply not meant to be. 🙁

Since Windstone is in the Pacific NW, it’s likely most notifications will go out between 3 am and 6 am as that is the time of day most things go into the store. 🙁 It’s unfortunately just the business hours!

I’m not blaming anyone really, them’s the unfortunate breaks of where I live. And no matter what time Windstone released stuff, I’m sure someone would be missing out; there’s fans all over the world I know, not just me. But, there’s been multiple times though when notifs and newsletters have hit about some sculpts hitting more like 5 – 5:30 am in my mailbox and not releasing until 6 or 7 am. That’s how I got lucky enough to grab the fledgling I *think* (and watched some others I didn’t want fly off the shelves). So I was hoping against hope.
I just have to wait and see if anyone puts one back. Either they haven’t all been purchased yet or the system is slow. In the case that this restock is well and truly gone, though, do you know if there are the last of the blue morpho laps Kiya?
New releases usually go in a tad bit later I think because they have to get photos and pricing set up. Restocks can really go in any time. Most things tend to happen between 12 pm and 6 pm PT. (Though there is the rare 7 pm PT release/restock).
I’m glad you were able to get one. I’m sure more will be made, but I think this batch was again just about 10 dragons.
I’ll have to keep that in mind. I guess for most (general production) things, it doesn’t probably matter as much, but limited edition and especially these blue morphos just keep flying off the shelves.
Windstone doesn’t kid around when it comes to this limited business. ;p I wonder how many they will make total. It would be kind of cool to know how many get made and are in available in the world. Ie: number 20 out of 50.
When an item is actually limited edition, they DO number them. 🙂 I think the limited edition pieces are usually sold through ebay. I believe the old lions and mamma bears are both limited editions with a few still pending release. (I can’t think of any others that have been released recently/are still in progress). Some dragons have been as well, but in those cases I think all the dragons have been sold already.
However, blue morpho is just limited production which basically means they are only selling them through the online store (not through dealers) and that they can make as many or as few as they want. 🙂
I would expect they will keep making blue morpho until people stop buying them. It’s just 10 lap dragons/OWs/etc take up a full paint wheel/a couple shelves on a cart/etc. There’s no benefit to Windstone to hang on to them until they have more than 10 or 11 (in fact they lose money on storing finished product!) so they just put them in the store as soon as they’re done. 🙂
Also – you guys really wanted a restock. LOL 🙂
Oooh. For some reason I thought these were limited edition, not limited production. My bad! That’s a good explanation of the difference, though. And it makes sense… dragons stored/not selling means space that can’t be used for dragons that will sell.
I love that color and have the fledgling, baby fledgling, curlie, coiled, coiled mother and hatching 2. I would love to have that Old Warrior but I started out with the brown family of 4 around 1987 and 217 Windstones later I am only buying the small ones because I am out of room to put a big one somewhere – anywhere! They have taken over my house.
