I added Welcome to the NHK and My Hime on page 3 and now I give you my Saiyuki review! πŸ˜€ I FREAKING LOVE THIS SERIES!!!

OMG! I TOTALLY forgot about Welcome to the NHK!! *prances off to read*

I concur with your star rating – 3.5 is what I would give it too. I thought it was pretty adorable, even if the end was kind of  to me, and I’m a bit of an introvert too so his little apartment looked pretty cozy to me πŸ˜†

hmm… there are a few on here that I have not seen and really want to try. I considered doing a little YouTube search just to get a feel for some but thought twice because I didn’t want to accidently catch a spoiler… like the death of a main character or something. 😈

What if we also linked little clips or amv videos with the reviews? …something without major spoilers (or if so, with warnings). Drag0n’s little hellhound vid kinda triggered that thought. ^_^

That’s a good idea bayou! Those of us who have seen them can screen the clips for spoilers for you! πŸ˜€ I’ll work on mine today πŸ™‚

I watched Blood+ too, and agree with pretty much the whole review. There’s this guy who is supposed to have a French accent, and the English overdub is *horrid* – it sounds like someone trying to make fun of French accents by doing it really bad. I also felt the ending was a little too soft and cheesy.

Has anybody seen the Live Action movie of Blood+? It’s based off the original Blood+ anime movie (instead of series, which has the same starting premise as the movie but goes in a totally different direction from there). It’s excellent!

Title: Moribito – Guardian of the Spirit /Seirei no Moribito

Synopsis: Moribito – Guardian of the Spirit is based off of the first novel of an award winning Japanese light novel series, Seirei no Moribito, which is now being translated and a few volumes are available in English (I’m unsure of how precise the translation is). The story revolves around Balsa, a spearwoman from Kanbal who wanders into the New Yogo Empire. Upon her arrival, she is unexpectedly drawn into events, and is hired by the Queen to protect and care for the second prince, Chagum, who has had multiple assassination attempts made upon his life by his father the emperor, for Chagum is believed to be possessed, carrying the egg of a water demon inside of him. The series follows the adventures of Balsa in her attempt to keep her promise to protect the young prince, discover the secrets of the water demon and egg inside of Chagum, set to hatch in roughly a year, and the interactions of various characters that form a bit of an ‘extended family’ of sorts. As a result, Balsa’s past will come up and a promise she has sworn to keep: to save 8 lives of equal or greater value to those who were lost to save her own when she was young, with Chagum being the 8th.

              Star Rating:

Review: Moribito takes place in a mythic historical past and is produced by Production IG, the same company to produce Eden of the East and the Ghost in the Shell series. The artwork reflects this and is not to disappoint. The characters backgrounds aren’t completely fleshed out, but enough for the story, as it only handles book one of a series, but definitely sufficient for this series. The series is finally completely available in the US, after some production rights issues when the US distributor went out of business after only some of the series had been released, possibly leading the series to be missed by many when only a few episodes were shown initially and haphazardly on Cartoon Network’s Adult Swim. It is a more mature anime that is well worth seeing that has been, sadly, overlooked.

Warnings and Praises: There is some mild violence as there is hand to hand combat and some blood and an occassional curse word, but nothing major.

Remembering how much I liked the series I was going to start watching Welcome to the NHK again, but I ended up starting Negima. I’ve had it for over a year and have never watched it so I figured why not?

                Let’s see… what can I review this time 8)

                Title: Chrono Crusade

Synopsis: The stage is set some time in the twenties if memory serves. It is a time of prosperity and the division between rich and poor grows even wider in the wake of the First World War. During this time there is an upheaval that the dark things that lurk below the world of man can come to the surface. An organization surfaces known as the Order of Magdalene who exists to fight the demonic threats that appear across America. Both Rosette and Chrono who work for the organization are revealed during the course of the story to be driven by a shadowy past, centered on a search for Rosette’s lost brother Joshua who is shown to have been taken from her by the sinner, Aion, a demon who shares a dark and bloody history with Chrono. They are later joined by two other heroines and have to fight the forces of evil together while Chrono faces Aion, who seeks nothing less than to overthrow the delicate balance between Heaven, Earth, and Hell.

Review: A gun toting nun and an adorable demon (who turns into a hot demon)by her side! What’s not to love! It has comedy, action, and even some romance and OH MAN! What a tear jerker!

Warnings and Praises: I fell asleep a few times watching this series…The plot line does start to get very political at times, but all in all I still enjoyed the series. It sort of distorts a few religions a little bit, so it might not be for everyone obviously if you are sensitive to that sort of thing. OMG! Chrono gives me the vapors!!! When he’s a big beefy demon he’s AWESOME and when he’s just regular little Chrono you just wanna SQUEEZE him cause he’s SO CUTE! πŸ˜†

                  Title: Bludgeoning Angel Dokuro-Chan

Synopsis: Dokuro-chan tells the story of a 13-year-old junior high schooler, Sakura Kusakabe, who, twenty years in the future, while attempting to create a “Pedophile’s World” forces all women to stop aging after the age of twelve, offends God by the side effect of having created immortality. Dokuro Mitsukai, a member of an order of assassin angels that are called Rurutie, has been sent from the future to kill him. Believing that Sakura can be redeemed, Dokuro decides instead to keep Sakura so occupied that he can never develop the immortality technology. Due to her impulsive nature and super-human strength however, she frequently kills him with her gigantic spiked kanabō (club), Excalibolg, on a moment’s impulse, but returns him to life moments later with angelic power. Sabato, another assassin of the Rurutie order who uses her feminine wiles to do her job, is dispatched to complete Dokuro’s original mission: Sakura’s assassination.

                  Star Rating:

Review: OMG! HAHAHAHAHAHA!!! This series is NUTS! Dokuro-chan must kill this kid like 15 times per episode! It contains 12 episodes that run about 15 minutes a piece…. THAT’S A LOT OF REPEATED (yet hysterical) DEATH πŸ˜†

Warnings and Praises: You might want to repeatedly smash your head into a wall if you listen to the opening music for more then .02 seconds. There is lots of blood (over board and extreme excess to be specific… sort of meant to be funny in a twisted way) Adult topics and overall just an crazy story that will make you go WTF?!?!

… and that piru pi pi piru thing she does every time she brings Sakura back to life…. AAAAAAAAAUUUUGGHHHH!!!! I HATE THAT!!!

Yea… this is the whole series πŸ˜† (I could only find something in Japansese, but you get the idea)

Review: I loved this series!!! It’s was freaking hysterical, but also had a decent plot line and was pretty original. It’s funny at first, but the series DOES eventually start to get serious, but still keeps the humor somehow in it through the midst of it all. I much prefer the dubbed version with this series. The wise cracks and juts perverted humor really made this series one you can watch again and again. The voice actor for Kanta really got that “EVIL good guy” nailed! HAHAHA!

Warnings and Praises: Some indecent perverted-ness… well lot’s of indecent perverted-ness (wow, a lot of the anime I watch is full of perverts now that I am doing all these reviews, LOL) but be warned, if you are looking for a honest, handsome, dashing hero… you won’t find one in this series! Not suitable for children, nope nope!

Bankrobbers!), Elemental Gelade (awwwwwwwwe, warm fuzzies) Wild Arms (peewee Trigun, hahaha) and yes, even Naruto. *phew* That’s just off the top of my head 😳

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAALRIGHT!!! What the hell, I have time to kill. I’ll go ahead and post my most dreaded review (cause it’s gonna take me FOREVER)

Yes folks, I am a “Naru-tard” as dubbed by my peers. As much as the series DRAGS AND DRAGS ON ETERNALLY …I WATCH IT ALL! Anywho, here is my Naruto review!

Title: Naruto (and sort of Naruto Shippuden too)

Synopsis: Naruto Uzumaki is a young boy who does nothing but play pranks and cause trouble in the Leaf Village where is lives in a small apartment by himself. What Naruto’s dark secret is, the reason he is always causing so much mischief is because it’s his only way to deal with how he is treated by his fellow villagers. Naruto doesn’t understand why everyone seems to hate him, but 12 years before the start of the series, the Nine-Tailed Demon Fox attacked the Leaf Village, slaughtering many people. In response, the leader of the village, the Fourth Hokage sacrificed his life to seal the demon inside Naruto when he was a newborn. However since that day, the villagers directed all the anger and hate from all the lives lost onto Naruto as if he were the demon fox itself. A decree made by the Third Hokage, who replaced the Fourth Hokage after his death, which forbade anyone mention the sealing of the demon fox inside of Naruto to anyone else INCLUDING Naruto himself. He spent most of his childhood being mistreated and because of that he was heading down a path that could have lead to a sorrowful life until one man decided to take Naruto under his wing named Iruka. Iruka was sort of like Naruto’s big brother/father figure and was the only one person Naruto showed respect to.

Years later, Naruto is tricked by the renegade ninja Mizuki into stealing a forbidden scroll, but he is stopped by Iruka. When Iruka almost dies while protecting Naruto from Mizuki, Naruto uses a Jutsu he learned from the scroll that creates multiple clones of himself, Shadow Clone Technique, to defeat Mizuki. This encounter leads Naruto to realize that he is the container of the demon fox.

The main story follows Naruto and his friends. Naruto befriends two comrades, Sasuke Uchiha and Sakura Haruno, who are assigned with him to form a three-person team named Team 7 under an experienced sensei named Kakashi Hatake. Like all the ninja teams from every village, Team 7 is charged with completing missions requested by villagers, such as doing chores or being bodyguards. During the course of their missions, Naruto befriends other characters that he meets throughout the series. Team 7 learns new abilities, get to know each other, and experience a coming-of-age journey as Naruto dreams of becoming the Hokage of the Leaf Village.

(Okay so so far are you with me? Yes, Naruto is a ninja who wears safety orange and wants to become stronger so one day he can become Hokage which is the village leader. He performs all sorts of missions from rescuing cats to escorting important people to neighboring villages while making friends on the way. He’s finally opening up and is being accepted by his peers. Why he’s just the most positive thinking knucklehead you ever saw! He’s down right annoying at this point in the series… he gets better later, I promise! Okay, moving on…)

After several missions, Kakashi allows Team 7 to participate into a ninja exam in which they can improve their ranks, and thus, take part in more difficult missions. During the exams, Orochimaru, a criminal at the top of the Leaf Village’s most wanted list, attacks the village and kills the Third Hokage in an act of revenge. This forces one of the three legendary ninja, Jiraiya to search for his former teammate Tsunade, who has been nominated to become the Fifth Hokage. During the search, it is revealed that Orochimaru desires to acquire Sasuke Uchiha due to his powerful genetic heritage. Believing Orochimaru will be able to give him the strength needed to kill his brother Itachi, who destroyed his clan, Sasuke goes to him in search of power. Tsunade sends a group of ninja including Naruto to make Sasuke return to Konoha, but Naruto is unable to defeat him and bring him back to the village. Naruto does not give up on Sasuke, however, and he leaves the village to train for two-and-a-half years under Jiraiya’s tutelage in order to prepare himself for the next time he encounters Sasuke.

After the training period, a mysterious organization called Akatsuki attempts to capture the nine powerful tailed beasts including the Nine-Tailed Demon Fox sealed inside of Naruto. Several ninjas from the Leaf Village, including Team 7, fight against the Akatsuki members and search for their teammate Sasuke. Although they manage to save Gaara the host of the One-Tailed beast, Akatsuki is successful in capturing seven of the creatures. In the meantime, Sasuke betrays Orochimaru and faces Itachi to take revenge. Although Itachi dies in battle, Sasuke is later told by the Akatsuki founder Madara Uchiha that Itachi was ordered by the Leaf’s leadership to destroy his clan. Saddened with this revelation, Sasuke joins forces with Akatsuki to destroy the Leaf Village. Meanwhile, as several Akatsuki members are defeated by the Leaf’s ninja, their leader, Pain, invades the village to capture Naruto. However, Naruto defeats Pain’s multiple bodies and convinces the real one to leave Akatsuki.

(okay, another quick break here. Naruto Shippuden starts right when the two years of training is begining. Naruto comes home and is a lot “older” basically and that starts the second series. Naruto is sort of little kiddish and has so much filler it makes you wanna just smash your head through the TV, but the cast is SO HUGE and the relationships are so deep you just keep on watching… anyway. So Naruto feels this DEEP connection with Sauske. They were rivals in Team 7 and now that Sauske “turns into a bad guy” he feels like he needs to bring him back. Naruto relates to him being an orphan basically and the whole series is based on this “best friend bond” they have… okay. moving on again)

With Pain leaving, Madara announces that he wants to obtain the all nine of the tailed beasts in order to perform an illusion powerful enough to control humanity. He enlists Sauske in this mission and the long awaited, final showdown between Naruto and Sauske is fast approaching. All of the leaders of the five ninja villages refuse to aid him, and instead, join forces to confront him. ***There is MORE after this, but this is as far as I have gotten for the most part***

*phew* There is SO MUCH I missed this is about how far I have gotten watching it in America and Japanese… let’s see… they are over 200 episodes in Naruto, then comes Naruto Shippuden which is when Naruto is older and the series is a bit more serious. That starts right about when Naruto enters his 2 years of training and it is STILL airing in Japan and THAT series is at just about 200 episodes as well. So in all, it’s STILL going and it’s at OVER 400 EPISODES! That’s… um…what? 200 hours? So if you sat and watched for over a week straight with NO SLEEP you still wouldn’t be done! This series makes Dragonball Z run for it’s money! LOL! I suppose if you lump Dragonball and Dragonball GT then it still wins, but still… THERE IS A LOT is my point!!!!

                        Star Rating:

Review:I am addicted to this series. As you can see, my Avatar is the Nine Tailed Fox Cosplay I were to anime conventions and such. The story is AMAZING and the amount of characters and just overall amount of story that is packed into this series is mind boggling. My favorite characters are Naruto, Gaara, and Rock Lee. Kakashi is freaking awesome as well! Rock Lee doesn’t nearly have enough screen time if you ask me. Seriously though…. ENOUGH with the FILLER… OMG! Granted some is pretty entertaining, but I hate how in every battle they have to explain every single thing about chakra, power levels, why this thing works, and why this doesn’t, blah blah blah. The do like a BAZILLION flash backs as well. A series this big I guess you have to, but it’s in excess. Dude, like the guy you are fighting is going to sit idly by while you take 20 minutes to explain the the audience by use of a standing by character why this person can use lighting ninjutsu and this level takes 20% more energy output by taping into your inner power or your chakra network to develop your genjutsu and as you do pull the power of your muscles to perform a taijutsu and the combination of certain elements have the outcome of creating your kekkei genkai which is derived from and OH MY GOD SHUT THE HELL UP AND GET ON WITH IT! πŸ™„ The goods FAR FAR FAR outway the bads though! This is an amazing series and I don’t care how many times people roll their eyes at me and point me out to be a Narutard! I love Naruto!!! I shall shout it from the rooftops! “Believe it!” (LOL, yea, I’m that big of a cheeseball that I had to do the “Believe It!” … if you watch you’ll understand πŸ˜† don’t worry. He eventually stops saying it all the time)

Warnings and Praises: *sigh* I think I covered most of that in my rant above! LOL! As much filler as there is in this series, most of it is quite entertaining. Most of it is side missions and just comical nonsense that while does drag out the main story, it proves to be very meaningful in each of the characters growth as the story moves forward and they all come of age. I truly enjoy every minute of Naruto! Kids watch this series even as the series gets darker in Shippuden… even Disney picked it up on one of their networks so it’s not that bad. There is obviously lots of fighting and the DVDs have blood but not crazy gushing blood. Like scrapes and blood running down the cheek or something once in a while to add suspense. Not too bad for kids 12 and up I’d say and I’m being generous.

A trailer would just be dumb… it would have to be an hour long so I found a pretty amazing Anime Music Video πŸ˜‰ Maybe you’ll get hooked, LOL! The blonde is none other then Naruto and Sauske is the kid in blue with the black hair.

Since Gaara is my favorite character and I didn’t even touch on him really here is a little video with him as well <3 To make is short, Gaara is an almost identical character to Naruto with the exception he never had ANYBODY love him. He is from the Sand Villare and also has a demon host within him. He goes through the same pain Naruto does, but is always alone. The one and only person who he thought cared for him ends up trying to kill him which sent him basically over the deep end. Poor Gaara!!! πŸ˜₯ Naruto of course influences him eventually and he starts ti develop some personality, but it's so late in the game he's pretty clueless when it comes to conversation so he's pretty quite and speaks more often with actions rather then words. *grin* I love Gaara! Even if he has no eyebrows!

Narutards UNITE!! πŸ˜† I love this series. It’s actually my hubby’s current favorite, too. We’ve watched it from start to finish sooo many times (can you say marathon). :spank: And some of the fillers are actually pretty funny.

Things I love about the series…. Kakashi’s “naughty” book, drunken Lee, Guy’s trainings, inner Sakura, Gaara, Akamaru’s dynamic marking, going “fox”, sexy jutsu, the music, all the characters, and OMG! the episode where they try to unmask Kakashi! XD

To me, all the drawn out stuff is so worth it.

So glad someone else did the review. πŸ˜›

EDIT: think I might try to get to Yu Yu Hakusho this week… and then maybe InuYasha.

So true so true bayou!!! Those are all excellent points I never even touched on. I love drunk Lee myself, BWA HAHAHA!!! Also, sexy jutsu is pretty hysterical. I guess there is lots of gushing blood out of people’s noses when Naruto get’s all hot and sexy! ROFL!!!

There is another episode WAAAAAAAAAAAAY into Shippuden when they try to unmask Kakashi again as well! At least, the manga had it. I haven’t watched the animated series that far QUITE yet. 😳 My computer is getting too old to download them so I have to watch them on OtakuCenter when my connection is behaving.

Right now I am in the midst of a bunch of flash back filler they never covered in Naruto after the big battle with Pain. Manga wise, I’ve been bouncing all over the place. It’s hard to keep track, so I think I’m going to start reading again at the same place I am in the animated series. I stopped buying manga and I get it from an app on my phone called “Mango” that is freaking awesome!!! I can even read Apocalypse Meow without spending $200 bucks on the 3 books! SQUEEAL!!!

I don’t download eveything though. I do have one other obsession besides Windstones…
