I know right!? I’m going to try and limit myself. I already did four now 😳 LOL!
Okay Okay!!!!
INVADER ZIM IT IS!!!
Title: Invader Zim
(I actually have this poster)Synopsis: Invader Zim revolves around the life of its lead character, Zim, his malfunctioning SIR Unit GIR and the humans and aliens who become involved in his schemes. Zim is a member of the imperialistic Irken race, an extraterrestrial species whose social hierarchy is based on height. The Irken leaders, known as The Almighty Tallest, serve together because they are exactly the same height. As recounted during the series premiere, Zim is both very short and a trouble maker & was banished to the planet Foodcourtia for attacking his own planet and allies during Operation Impending Doom 1. When Zim hears of Operation Impending Doom 2, Zim “quits” his exile in Foodcourtia and arrives at the Great Assigning. Here, elite Irken soldiers are chosen to become Invaders: special soldiers whose mission is to blend in with the indigenous life forms of their assigned planet, collect intelligence and prepare the planet for conquest by the Irken Armada. Zim pleads with the Tallest to assign him a planet, and, in a desperate act to get Zim as far away as possible, they assign him to a presumed planet on the outskirts of their known universe that has never been explored. This “mystery planet” is Earth, and Zim’s erratic attempts at world domination and/or the eradication of the human race begin when he lands on earth for the first time.

Review: I love the humor of Jhonen Vasquez! He is also the creator of my favorite comic book character Johnny the Homicidal Maniac! Well, this show got picked up by Nickelodeon and usually has 2 episodes per show. A few of them have full half hour episodes as well. The animation is very interesting, even though the characters and designs are simplistic, the animation is really astounding for a show of it’s generation! Little kidish humor, but still WAY funny enough for adults to enjoy as well! “I love this show” (quoted from the well known character of the show – Gir)
Warnings and Praises: A couple of the episodes are dumb, but overall the series is STUPENDOUS!!! I wish they would make new episodes!!! The Halloween Special is amazing as well as the episode “Battle of the Planets” when you find out the face on Mars is actually the control port for the entire planet becoming a enormous space ship! “The Wettening” which has the most epic water balloon fight you will ever see in the history of EVER! OMG! I love the episode when Dib and Zim battle inside Dib’s body and where else would you be transported to another dimension where there is nothing but a ROOM WITH A GIANT MOOSE! Bwa hahahaha! YES! EPIC SERIES! WATCH IT!

Review: I LOVE this show. Seriously, love. Any time I am feeling the slightest bit down, I can pop in an Invader Zim and feel so much better. Zim is a protagonist that you just love to see fail, because it’s so stinkingly hilarious! He has all of these ingenious ideas that, as a human, you know could never work, yet the fun is all in watching him try. Gir may be my favorite thing in the world – however, my favorite episode (and the episode that got me hooked completely) was “Bestest Friend”. It’s cute and weird up til the end, and when you realize what’s going on your jaw drops – “THIS IS A KIDS SHOW? …. awesome!!!” Love it so much.
Warnings and Praises: As drag0n said, there are a couple of episodes that are just lacking, plain and simple. However, 90% of the series is easily fantastic and makes up for the unsavory 10%.

Dude… seriously! Last one for the evening (said like 5 reviews ago, LOL) Then I have to go to bed. Let’s see… what to review now?
OH! I know!!!
Title: Fruits Basket
Synopsis: The Sohma household holds a very dark secret!!! They are cursed to turn into a particular spirit animals of the Chinese zodiacs of the when they are hugged by a member of the opposite sex or if they are under a great amount of stress. Weird curse I know, but its the making for an excellent story!!! High school student Tohru Honda’s mother died in a car accident, and Tohru begins living in a tent to support herself. Well, her tent is on the property of her classmate Yuki Sohma (the prince of their school because of his mysterious charm and good looks) Also, Yuki’s cousins Shigure and Kyo. They find her living on their property and invite her to stay with them. Tohru discovers the Sohma secret, but promises not to tell. The curse, however, is deeper and darker than it really sounds and the story unravels with a cast of remarkable characters and Tohru’s positive influence wears thin on the patience of the head of the family, Akito. For one particular member of the curse, Kyo, it is particularly tragic. Tohru is determined to break the curse, during her journey she changes everyone’s lives!

Review: I love every male character in this series and wish they were real and in love with me 😮 *cough* Oh wait! What, I was supposed to be writing a review right! This has a lot of everything! It’s a dramatic comedy, with a tragic tale weaved within it. It’s extremely wholesome and if everyone was a person like Tohru this world would be a better place! The other two main characters, Yuki and Kyo… oh man! Probably the two hottest guys in anime history! SQUEAL! All the characters have amazing depth and personality! I really love them all! Hatsuharu and Momiji are two of my personal favorites! The American voice cast was great and overall I have to give this series a 5 starts even though it has a lot of sappy moments! If you like “chick flicks” this anime is for you!
Warnings and Praises: The only big draw back from this series is there is very little action, it has it’s moments though that are quite entertaining nonetheless. Thank goodness for Hatsuharu and Kyo with their quick tempers !
The BIGGEST and really ONLY thing that really sucks is that, they didn’t finish the series. *cries HARD* If you read the manga, you learn about the missing cast of characters from the zodiac animals that are not covered in the animated series plus you get the see how the love story ends!!! OMG! An anime with CLOSURE!!! Sounds too good to be true!!! Well, animated, I suppose. It does have a satisfying end though. I won’t say it doesn’t. I liked it too, but there is just SO MUCH MORE to the story if you read the books! SO MUCH MORE!!! You won’t be able to put the books down! I am telling you!!!Opening Song & Animation

Let’s see… what else have I watched recently…. Elemental Gelade… DNAngel… um……..My Hime, The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya…. oh and OMG!!!! How could I forget another of my favorites!!! FLCL!!! Best 6 episode series in existance!!!!
(dude, geek and a half I know) 😆
Oh, I gotta rewatch GunSword too… I don’t know why. That and Gungrave. I always get half way through and get caught up with something else and never finish them. Then so much time goes by I have to start back at the begining again. Bah!
Title: Deadleaves

Suddenly there are explosions, guns, and giant robots and the next thing you know they are being hauled away to a maximum security prison on the moon for having crapy attitudes! Review: This is more of a movie then a series! They pack the whole story in about 50 INSANE minutes of non stop action and complete lunacy! The hilarious potty humor and mind boggling actions sequences keep me on the edge of my seat every time I watch it! The american voice actors are great and the animation is like an actual comic book lept off the pages and punched you in the face! I LOVE to watch this movie when I am in a bad mood!
Warnings and Praises: This movie is NOT for children! There is a little bit of breif nudity and a lot of perverted comedy! The story is REALLY HARD to follow… you’ll need to probably watch it 4 or 5 times before you figure out what the hell is going on. I love it though! Every time I watch it I see something new, but if you are the type to like a well thought out story with a deep plot line and a serious story line and say “Wow, that was wholesome and thought provoking”… you will probably hate this. If you like explosions, wise cracks, and a story to make you say “What the hell was the creator smoking when he thought this up?” then you will love it too!

I still haven’t been able to get through that one or Excel Saga… OMG… I just can’t take the insanity for that many episodes! 😈 I feel like my head is going to explode!
Ever seen Deadleaves? That’s an epic anime movie right there!!! I’ll have to review that too at some point! 😆
FLCL does have a story line but you have to watch it like 10 times before you really understand WTF is going on!
EDITED TO ADD! FLCL!!!
Title: FLCL (Furi Kuri, Fooly Cooly)
Synopsis: So is Haruko Haruhara an evil alien, a space pirate, a secret agent, or just a regular girl who’s a little crazy? Who knows, but she is ruining Naota’s life ever since she ran him over with her Vespa. Before that nothing ever happened in Naota’s town, but now every time Haruko smashes Naota’s head with her electric Rickenbacker 4001 bass guitar, Medical Mechanica robots seem to keep coming out of it! (yes, robots come out of his head) Including a robot named Kanti who starts living with him along with Haruko who becomes their live in maid! So does Haruko really care about Naota or is she just using him to search for the Pirate King, Atomsk because his head works the best? Who the heck knows! I am still not sure myself, but this series is only 6 episodes long so why not try and see if you can figure out what’s going on!?

Review: I LOVE this series!!! Every episode is a complete disaster full of heart pounding action, lots of comedy, crushing heartbreak, and absolute utter confusion! There are a few perverted moments, but nothing too bad. They played it on Cartoon Network, so I wouldn’t say it’s more then PG 13. Kids would get it anyway… I barely do myself! HAHAHA!
Warnings and Praises: You will either LOVE this series or HATE this series! The best soundtrack ever! Great american voice cast, beautiful animation….but good luck trying to figure out what the hell is going on! I think I have got it after watching the series a couple of times, but I wouldn’t want to ruin your good time of forming your own opintion. This series is a wild ride and has a great ending to boot! LOVED IT!

Original anime trailer: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IOhu6a9hUq4 (The Eva screaming haunts me!)
“Rebuild” trailer: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E_2jxwRC6sk (this one has better animation and explains a bit more about what the show is about)Synopsis: This anime, which takes place in 2015, tells the story of Shinji, a boy who has been summoned by his estranged father to pilot one of 3 giant mecha (robot) called Evangelions in order to combat monsters of like-size called Angels. Shinji, along with two other teenagers, Rei and Asuka, are the only ones who can pilot these machines. Without them, they would remain silent and dormant, completely unusable by any adult. Shinji begins a journey that tries his mind and spirit in an increasingly dangerous battle that plays with the existence of humankind itself.

Review: Goodness, where to begin! This anime is some seriously heady stuff, and it will be hard to write a review without giving much away, but here goes.. NGE deals with, in short, a question of existentialism – which is to say, questions of “right” and “wrong” regarding human existence. This question is explored throughout the series, and ultimately answered in the end (according to director Hideaki Anno’s views). Throughout the series Anno also explores psychological issues as the three teenage protagonists are put through a ringer of emotional and physical battles, and not all of it is pretty. In fact, most of it is decidedly ugly. This is not a heartwarming anime – it’s scope is broad and penetrating but like many lenses that delve deep into the human psyche, it does not see everything as well-meaning and good. Don’t let this dissuade you from trying this series out though, I gave it four and a half stars because it is still amazing! If you’re the type of person that can handle a story that is largely a “downer”, yet still amazingly deep and thoughtful, give this one a try. I was floored when I first watched it, some of the sounds that the Evangelion make are so inhuman (yeah, I know) and jarring, it was one of the first anime that I was actually a little scared of. 😆
Warnings and Praises: The most major warning I have for anyone going into this anime – the ending of the series WILL leave you scratching your head. It took me at least three tries to even understand what was going on in the last episode alone. However – there is a movie that basically redoes the ending in order to give you more palatable closure, and though the movie is still a bit confusing, it’s a thousand times better than the end of the TV series in my opinion. This series is also SATURATED with Christian symbology. By NO means is this an anime that expresses Christian views, it simply takes some of the symbols from early in the bible (Genesis!) and uses them rampantly. The Angels are named after actual angels in the bible, you see crosses in many scenes, etc. The only thing that honestly ever bothered me about this series (and the reason why I gave it only 4.5 stars instead of 5) is that I often got annoyed with the main protagonist, Shinji. I can’t really explain why, because the kid is obviously going through hell in this anime, but sometimes I just wanted to kick him. I expressed this to the person who insisted that I had to watch this series, and he was convinced that this was done on purpose (I have no idea why!). Otherwise, I could write a book on this series (I think people have).
Oh! Also, this series began in 1995, but in the past couple of years they made 2 movies that basically took the entire series and compacted it while also giving it some gorgeous new animation. I am hesitant to recommend watching this before you’ve seen the entire series, but if it’s the only way you can stomach it, I’d say definitely give it a whirl 🙂

Trailer: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X4zcaRssOSk (it’s a little lame – you can tell they made it for TV audiences, but you get the idea of the animation and plot from this trailer)Synopsis: Cowboy Bebop is about space cowboys. Seriously! Spike Spiegel is the cool, chain smoking protagonist and with his partner Jet Black, they cruise around the galaxy hunting for bounty (and the occasional slab of beef). Faye Valentine, Edward, and Ein eventually all hitch rides with Spike and Jet – and at the same time as being a thorn in their side, bring out a little bit of affection in the seasoned bounty hunters as well. Spike deals with some personal issues throughout the series, which is otherwise largely episodic.
Star Rating:
Review: Ah yes, the anime that got me into anime – my gateway, Cowboy Bebop. This series hooks you immediately, just from the credits rolling. It’s got such style, such grace! And it’s got Spike Spiegel. I. Love. Spike. He is honestly my all-time favorite character in all of anime, and I seriously doubt any other character will top him. Not only is he cool in a mysterious James Dean type of way, but he’s a fluid Jeet Kune Do fighter (an actual martial art created by Bruce Lee), slight-of-hand master, and all around adorable personality. But *cough* back to the story, each character in this series is seriously lovable. From back-talking yet haunted Faye to big teddy bear/tough guy Jet to total spastic nerd Ed, every one has been animated and voiced to perfection. This series is 26 episodes long as well as having a film released after its final episode, which, chronologically, actually happens prior to the end of the series. It’s a fantastic series and a great film companion, full of humor and fun as well as amazingly choreographed action scenes. I would recommended this series to anyone and everyone that likes a good story.
Warnings and Praises: This series is episodic – which means that each episode generally has its own story arc, but there is most definitely a larger story arc that encompasses the entire series. I would NOT recommend watching this series out of order, but once you’ve seen it, it is very easy to go back and watch random or favorite episodes without remembering what happened directly before it. I have no warnings or criticisms for this show, it’s about as great as an anime can be in my book. WATCH IT!

I’ve seen FLCL too-sat down and watched the whole thing in one evening-I was exhausted afterwards! It *does* make your head spin! But I loved the show!I’ll have to add to this later too. I haven’t seen a whole LOT of anime, but I do really like it.
LOVE Invader Zim! “But Gir, I *neeeeed* Tacos!”A friend of mine suggested I watch Fushigi Yuugi-it was really good, and a tear-jerker at the end, but it wasso long! Like 52 something episodes-I think it took me a whole summer to get through it lol It does get weird at the end-people dying and coming back as other people who have died-that sort of thing. I keep forgetting the name of it though! I mentioned it here more for myself to remember to come back and review it later

Actually, drag0n, I have a link for you, but I won’t have access to my computer at home until tomorrow night.
Inuyasha on CN ended the way it did because they were staying true to the manga, which was coming out too slowly for them. So it just…stopped.
If you don’t want to wait, google Inuyasha: The Final Chapter, Viz has posted (subtitled, which I’m sure you don’t mind) the ending. It’s not been released in the US in English on Cartoon Network or on DVD yet as far as I know. But they’ve finally animated the ending.

I added Deadleaves and FLCL to some of my previous posts on page 2. I started Deathnote and then I’ll do Gantz when I get home from work 😉
Title: Gantz
Synopsis: This series…. it’s just a mess… it’s actually very difficult to describe! Basically Kei is a regular highschool student who is always looking at girly mags and fantasizing about the things 99% of high school boys fantasize about. Well, as he waits for a train he bumps into his old elementary school friend Kato. As Kei wonders to himself if Kato recognizes him, a bum falls onto the train tracks and the two boys are hit by the train while trying to save him. Do they die? Who knows, all we know is suddenly they are transported to a room overlooking Tokyo tower where they cannot escape! All of the people there remember they were about to die before they arrived in the mysterious room but that’s all! A big black ball is the only thing in the room and it’s name is Gantz! Gantz now owns their lives and is going to make them go and kill aliens apparently. They are all given suits and weapons by the singing, wisecracking ball and they are given a time limit and transported to the designated playing area to go and kill some aliens! If they survive the mission they are given points by Gantz depending on how many enemies they have killed and then they are allowed back to their normal lives until Gantz calls again!
Star Rating:
Review: YAY! Blood guts and gore! I’d have to say though, the most interesting thing about this series to me is the way the people in the series “think on the inside” It’s a brutal interpretation of what is really going on inside peoples heads! The premise of the series itself is definitely original. At the beginning of the series I actually hated Kei, but as time went on he most definately became my favorite character!
Warnings and Praises: A few things here, this series is SO NOT FOR KIDS!!! There is LOTS of nudity, sex, violence, blood, and bad language! Some of the “aliens” they fight are actually kind of stupid and there are those moments were everyone just needs to SHUT UP and get on with the story… but any series were people’s heads explode always makes me happy! I gave it 3 stars. All in all though, I really enjoyed Gantz. You will never find another series like it! TRUST ME!
Here’s the opening to give you more of an idea 😉
