This isn’t mentioned in the listing, but “Bryophyta” is the scientific classification for the mosses. Yes, I know way too much geek trivia about scientific classification.

Those aren’t in bryophyta anymore, at least not “sensu stricto”. DNA sequencing and other molecular analysis has been upsetting all kinds of past classification schemes of life in the last couple decades. But just to keep things confusing, they are still called “bryophytes” even though not members of bryophyta. It’s a head-scratcher!
