The emperor dragon is my favorite sculpt partly because its scales look snakelike. I think it looks brilliant in all the reptilian paint schemes I’ve seen, Checkered Copper included. I’m sorely tempted to bid on him, but with all the additions I’ve made to my collection lately, I probably shouldn’t. Not that that has ever stopped me before.
I’m afraid that the “Checkered Copper” Emperor would upstage most of the rest of my collection, particularly the production pieces. I understand that test paints can be much more complicated than production colors, and most of the test paints I have fit in OK with production pieces, but “Checkered Copper” makes my Shell Pink and Ruby Emps look rather tawdry by comparison. A sad state of affairs …

Pretty sure the emperor is most, maybe all of the production gals, favorite to paint because all those awesome scales give you so many great options to really be creative. Laurie’s reminds me of a handful of coins, in the very best way, I love him! I’ve been off visiting family and I’m bummed I didn’t get to watch her paint the Kirin, he’s just adorable. It’s very interesting how each of us approach the eBay pieces, we’re all so different!
I’m not sure if Laurie checks the forums very often, but I’ll make sure she and Kaleigh get to read all the positivity! It’s really great to see that y’all are enjoying our pieces!

Earthen Fey is so soft and foresty, and that pop of teal makes me think of little flowers among the moss and trees. Checkered Copper is absolutely swoon worthy on that Emperor, he looks even more real than ever before… I expect him to move at any moment!
And yay, another lovely Fire Berry piece by you, Gina!

Wowza! The Earthen Fey young dragon went for $710. That’s quite impressive for a young dragon.
I hope this means we see more Earthen Fey dragons *coughEarthenFeyEmperorcough*; they’re just lovely. Personally, I hope that means we see more test paint youngs in general. Nice to see a test painted young for a change.
