We’re all hijacking the other topics to freak out over the Covid 19 situation. I know I’m guilty. So I figured I’d open a catchall thread. You can support, distract, whine, panic, etc here.

ADMIN NOTICE: As this situation unfurls, it is important to know that there are many unknowns out there about this virus, and as a result, misinformation (both intentional and unintentional) is spreading like wildfire on the internet. Please, if you share information here, do your best due diligence to check it factually to the best of your ability. I am disappointed to say that even some of our leadership are advocating for truly bizarre things (I am thinking of a county commissioner here in the USA that genuinely suggested people breathe in hot air from hair dryers– don’t do this) so, it is more important than ever to check and make sure misinformation does not spread, as sadly, in this situation, it has the ability to do very real harm. Please stay safe and take precautions seriously.
Additionally, this situation is a world-wide historical event, and it is tense and stressful for many, especially those that have comorbidity with this respiratory virus, and/or are forced to continue to risk exposure due to their jobs. Be respectful of others and understand that based on the information we have in areas where this has hit hardest, fear is a logical and very human response. Please channel your feelings about this to help spread kindness and understanding to those wholes lives are effected (which will probably be nearly all of us before this is over), even in small ways. I will have zero tolerance for unproductive rudeness during this time. Please, folks, let us show each other the good side of our human natures during this time, which is due only to get worse. Oh we all are, lol! I’m currently at work, which makes me anxious, as I work for elderly people with health issues. I really wish they’d completely isolate, but they don’t follow directions well. At least there are only two other staff members in the house now.
My husband is also immunocompromised, but he is off at least the next two weeks and has the sense to not leave the house beyond walking the dogs. The dogs are absolutely in heaven and think Coronavirus is the best thing ever. I’m asthmatic, so I should also be home, but that’s all at my boss’s whim at this point. I really wish Los Angeles would put us into lockdown so we could get this done sooner rather than later, but it doesn’t seem like they are heading that way. So that’s my whine.

Their household will get it and they won’t self-isolate the entire family. I get asthmatic bronchitis in the right conditions with URIs and colds. I think COVID 19 would create the right conditions in my lungs and chest.

I can’t just go to the store since I can’t risk bringing coronovirus back to immunocompromised hubby but nope, you can’t order anything online either! I hate the coronavirus!

I just know this stupid virus is just going to get worse before it gets better so it’s just probably going to get delayed more and more since people just can’t stay home when they don’t need to be out…we were talking to hubby’s parents about all this only to find out they aren’t staying inside, they’re almost 72 and supposed to be the main caregivers after the now stalled surgery….my parents are being responsible but hubby’s parents are among the many idiots not doing what they are supposed to….

and quoting you again since I feel like I didn’t respond properly before due to my crying/anger right now with all this…. hopefully all will be okay for us, it just feels so surreal right now, here we were so close to surgery and now limbo….
