Time to start getting ready for your favourite holiday! How do you celebrate it?? If you’re dressing up, what are you going as? If i had a party to go to…which i dont, I would be going as Gertrude Aldridge from the new Ghostbusters movie!
I will be having my usual scary movie marathon. Thats where I buy my junk food (1 candy, 1 chocolate, 1 chip, and maybe a large pizza, hee hee), and watch a line up of scary movies until either my guts rott, or I fall asleep!! My line up hasn’t been chosen yet. Any suggestions??? We don’t get trick or treaters, so this marathon is uninterrupted!
What are you doing for Halloween this year??
Wanted: "Dragon Fruit" Male Dragon ~ "Fire Berry", "Paradise", "Dragon Fruit", "Tie Dye" ~ The brighter, the better!
October 3, 2017 at 2:50 pm #1530348We stay home and hand out candy to all the kids. I love to see the little one all dress up.
October 4, 2017 at 1:50 pm #1530373I’m not big into horror movies, but really do like the old (yeah, really old) black and white scary/ghost movies. My favourites are:
The Uninvited
The Haunting
The Spiral Staircase
I’m definitely on board with chocolate, chips, and pizza!
Life is beautiful.
October 4, 2017 at 6:32 pm #1530390The Shining …always a nail biter
Signs …great spook
The Adams Family …must sees
The Amityville Horror …old spooky movie
Interview with a Vampire …bloody but good all in all
Quite a variety 😀
These are some of the ones I like but I don’t do bloody and gore well.
Have an awesome marathon!!👻

The Changeling – (1980) with George C. Scott
The Legend of Hell House – (1973) with Roddy McDowellAnd for a more modern one…
Thirteen Ghosts – (2001)Happy Hauntings!

Halloween Three Season of the Witch !!
I am also splurging on pizza and ice cream.
Chichi gets too upset with the door bell ringing for Trick-Or-Treaters so will be a quiet night.
Have a fantastic Fairy costume that the wings were custom made for me; they have steady or twinkle lights that light up from a watch battery.
They are really detailed; but are kinda heavy to wear since they are really long but look amazingly real !!! One wing set is purple and black, the other wing set is red . The purple and black are almost 3 feet long and 2.5 feet wide; the red set is a tad shorter.October 5, 2017 at 6:54 am #1530402Guys! So many good movie suggestions!! Thank you 🙂
Linda, I love seeing the little farts trying to walk with a pillow case filled with candy dragging on the ground! Between their poor motor skills, and blinding masks, they have a hard time walking as it is….super cute tho!!
Scathach, who are you and what have you done with Shirlee!? hahaha! I never thought I would get scary-movie-recommendations from you!! I have been meaning to watch The Uninvited. Quite a few forums have recommended it. I saw the remake of the 1963 The Haunting, in 1999. The Spiral Staircase is new to me, but sounds like the newer release Hush, which I just watched the other day. The Uninvited has made it to my running list.
Bodine, all great suggestions. I’ve seen them all, and have them on DVD! If I hadn’t JUST watched The Shinning for the 50th time, I’d be adding it to my list for sure!
Ela-Hara, I confused one of your suggestions with Changeling (2007)…The Changeling (1980) has made it to the list!! So has The legend of Hell House (have never seen it). Thirteen Ghosts is awesome! I own it. I think it made it to last year’s list.
Thanks for the suggestions guys. There’s still lots of room…anyone else wanna recommend their favorite scary movies?
Suzanne-Marie, your costume sounds wonderful. How cool is that?? battery operated wings!!! I think my dog would go crazy if we had any trick or treaters…he’d end up scaring them all away, with a bark that is worse than his bite.

October 5, 2017 at 12:13 pm #1530409Halloween is my favorite holiday but I live so far away from town that I have never had any trick or treaters here.
So for me I generally spend the day making a few caramel apples dipped in chocolate then find a few good movies to watch. I love the Adams Family movies, the Harry Potter movies and Casper the Ghost.

Another Great is ‘The Birds’ by Alfred Hitchcock. You GOTTA have at least One Hitchcock movie on your list!
Sounds like you’re going to have some Scary Fun!

May I recommend “What we do in the Shadows”. It’s about a bunch of vampires renting a flat together in New Zealand. Here is the International movie trailer:
Storm Dancer, your candy apples sound yummy!

Male Hearth....one day🤞Dream on.October 9, 2017 at 11:00 am #1530499We don’t do anything now, but I reminisce about when the kids were little sprats, and the wild trick r’ treating block party that went on in our old neighborhood. That was a heck of a lot of fun! The streets were closed off to traffic and neighbors rode around in decorated golf carts and on horses. Dogs were dressed up too. Houses were insanely decorated… tombstones, strobe lights, smoke machines, spooky music, hundreds of sugared-up kids… it was great!
