It has been a long time since I’ve looked at the Windstone Editions catalog. Just a few days ago I ran across a box in storage that had one of the original baby Ki-rin – the orange ones with the iridescent white scales? I received it as a gift at least a decade ago. I came looking to see if it would be possible to buy the baby a set of parents and noticed that while you do still carry the ki-rin models, you don’t have any with the original coloring. Were you planning to do any more with that particular coloring, or have you discontinued the line?

In a marginally related question, I also have a very old Grimalkin candle lamp. I’ve had him for… I think twelve or thirteen years now, and he’s taken some damage along the way because I’ve moved so many times. Can you recommend a good paint to touch up the chips, so that it’ll match the original? I’m not an artist and I don’t want to mess him up.

The male and mom KiRins show up on eBay every so often. You could also post an ad in the classifieds section here.
Good luck and welcome to the forum.

Yes, check ebay and the classified section here…

…for the parents. I’ve been seeing them go for under $100 each.

As far as repairs, there are a few good repair artists here. I’d recommend Drag0nfeathers. She has repaired LOTS of pieces with severe damage. I haven’t seen one in person, but from the photos, I think they look PERFECT.

I’m not sure if she is accepting new projects. I’ll bet if you asked her how to do it yourself, she’d tell you. I was just reading a few days ago about someone with a stone piece like your Grimalkin that was damaged and Drag0nfeathers said the stone pieces are easiest to fix. I’ll have to try and find the thread.

If she isn’t available, there is also a thread in the repairs section that has all of the artists doing repairs.
