I would go with Photofiltre if I needed a cheap easy to learn program that covers almost everything Photoshop can do..as far as the basic stuff goes.
How cheap? Free…here is link for ya 🙂
It takes a measure of courage to put your art in front of everyone to be voted on..all the pyo artist here know exactly what I mean..so way to go to all those who entered and a big CONGRATS to Nam…its a superb shot that actually evokes emotion and that is what art is all about…very well done!!
Mine was “Tufted tit” I don’t recall when I shot it but it was sometime in Feb and very cold out.
I used:
Canon 350d(digital rebel xt) camera
18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 IS Canon lens
about 8 foot away handholding using manual focus
55mm at f/5.6
exposure 1/250th of a secondI usually use a 75-300mm f4-5.6 IS for birds but was out shooting something else and luckily got close enough to use the 55mm. I did use Photoshop for crop and position..but nothing else added.
If anyone wants to see any of my other bird pics you can go here http://www.caedes.net/Zephir.cgi?lib=Caedes%3A%3ANewSearch&query=onespock then click on the pic for a larger version.
Once again congrats to Nam!!

Saydee72 wrote:Hey, I think I want to get a new digital camera for christmas, but I don’t know what kind to get. I think one of the Canon ones. I can probably get my parents to pay at least half way if I get a 500$ one, though I might be able to convince them to get an 800$. Do you guys have any suggestions for what I should get?
Here is the review for the Ixus(Elph) click the drop down box for the full review http://www.dpreview.com/reviews/canondigitalixus/page2.asp
If I had $500 to $800 to spend the Canon EOS 350 would be my purchase http://www.dpreview.com/reviews/canoneos350d/
At 8 megapixel and the ability to swap lenses…it would serve you well for a long time…
Here is a picture I took with the Canon EOS 300(6 megapixels) with a 80-200mm lens in low light http://www.caedes.net/Zephir.cgi?lib=Caedes::Infopage&image=onespock-1159755087.jpgNo matter what you end up with…keep a steady hand, take multiple shots from different angles and practice does not make perfect…but it will make you better.

If it is in good shape…this would be a steal for anyone needing one. Not sure why they called it a “gold” dragon 😕
