I’m ready, I just need an address.
November 19, 2007 at 6:23 am in reply to: Direct buying from The Company Store;..ponder , ponder. #637769Where are all of the current pieces that retailers are dumping on ebay? I see mostly retired pieces. Some of the current ones on ebay appear to be from estates (This is what they say in the auction). The only thing that I can think of might be BT’s store. However, they’re not dumping stock, but adding current pieces in with their retired ones in their store.
I really do sympathize though. Small businesses are having a really tough time. Both of my local retailers are suffering greatly. I know and have befriended the owners of both stores, and I do wonder how long they’ll be able to keep their doors open. I support them as much as I can and try to point customers in their direction, but there is not much else I can do. While Windstone’s store may provide some competition, it’s not the main complaint of either of these stores. Times are just really hard.
I agree with Sunhawk. Definately report this seller to ebay immediately. Holding your refund until you leave her underserved positive feedback is indeed blackmail.
Please understand, it’s not because I’m stereotypying these types of people. I have nothing against them, and my stepsister is even into the goth look.
It’s kind of something personal that I’m not sure I should post on a public forum. It concerns someone close to me that has been put on so many pain meds that her personality has become rather warped. It’s upsetting to me, and the black around the eyes reminds me of the black around her eyes. Don’t ask why I make this association; I just do. It’s weird, I know.
This unicorn is really cool and very unique! I really like it.
I do kind of have to agree with DantheDragon. It black around the eyes really bothers me. They do look drugged to me. It is interesting that I see them this way because, yes, it is strange to be seeing that kind of attribute in a dragon.
That is really cool! I expecially like the face and the back.
Personally, I’m not fond of eyes that blend into the dragon. I’m not particularly fond of the rubies for this reason. There is really nothing that draws your eye to the piece. The black around the eyes didn’t really appeal to me either. For some reason it kind of bothers me like the “lipstick” bothered others.
That said, lavender or blue would be nice because they do provide some contrast without the stark contrast that the red eyes create. They might be the most universally appealing. I do still like the red eyes though. I like bold contrast.
Quote:I like the darker striping of black on the male with the red eyes versus the lighter male on the left. I think the red eyes make an awesome contrast in this dragon, and gives it that aura of evil that makes some dragons awesome heehee
Yay! Someone agrees with me about the red eyes! I’m not alone!
I’m with you on the frustration with the seller. Both of my small flapcats came to me with damage after being called mint. This is why I don’t buy to many Windstones from sellers that I don’t know on ebay. They’re usually not collectors and for some reason seem to be just fine with calling pieces with chips and paint rubs mint.
I’ll have to show you with pictures what is going on with the felt on my flap cat. It is hard to explain in words. It’s kind of like a top lay of the felt is coming off along with the entire logo while another layer is staying on the flap cat. The fact the the felt is cut funny is weird though. With the exception of some of the early PYO’s, the felt is usually cut very nicely.
The small black and siamese flap cats have been retired for awhile. I’ve gotten two “mint” small black flap cats that have needed quite a bit of fixing up. The interference paint on them can vary quite a bit and will look faded if it is very dusty. Gold accents always come off. Some of the pieces I’ve gotten off of ebay were almost totally missing it.
Believe it or not the logo can apparantly come off. I have the start of this with my black bat winged flap cat. The logo is still there but part of the felt is coming off and with it the entire logo. I couldn’t get any good pictures of it tonight, but I’ll try again when there’s more light.
Can you post some pictures?
I just really liked the red eyes in the silver. They stand out very boldly, and I like the contrast. I don’t see the golds having red eyes as a condition for why the silvers shouldn’t. Apples and oranges to me.
I know I’m in the minority here, but I actually liked the red eyes. They looked really neat on the dragons that Arlla posted. I also liked the lavender eyes.

Can someone let me in on this devious plan? Is it too late for me to be a part of it?
