Awww… I’m sorry Caisha and Nambroth. I was sniping for drag0nfeathers, because she was at work. Gods that was nerve-wracking! π―
I love the griff, but I would want something a little different π I also need to get an ochiba koi done by you at some point (saves money for when you are able to take commissions).
I hear you on the little brushes. The one I’m doing for a friend is taking me forever (being out of commission from being sick for over a week didn’t help) and I’ll be doing another one similar, probably for sale. It definitely makes the eyes cross after 6-8 hours @_@
This is the dragon I did for the swap for dragonessjade.
She asked for autumn leaf colors, and since I live in the New England area, I based him off of some of the great mixes in colors we get up here! I made sure I didn’t look at Melody’s ‘autumn leaf’ dragons, so that he would be my version. I added the touch of green to be different, since there are always a few green stragglers and pine trees that don’t change color during the peak leaf peeping season. I added some gold & orange interference paint inside some of the scales and purple intereference on some of the brown scales, since there are red maples to be found up here. I almost wouldn’t let him leave! I left him open that I could do variations in eye color to play around with the color scheme if I ever did another one or two of these guys, so they could all be unique. I might paint a dragon for each season, on my dad’s suggestion. He really liked this guy. I call him Autumn.
I actually had to strip the paint off him with paint stripper at one point (too much moisture in the air caused some issues). He looked weird all brown and naked without his eyes and jewel when the glue came off π―
Oh wow! He’s gorgeous! I love him! I’ll have to commission you sometime soon π
Such a nice Cardinal! I like him! π
Greater Basilisk wrote:Great pics. I love the way you put in so much color variation. Even a red cardinal isn’t just red.
So true!
Mine is getting shipped tomorrow or Wednesday (whichever day I actually get back to work – been uber sick for over a week and unable to get out anywhere… blech).

One of us! One of us!
I hope there is one left at the end of the month π
Kyrin wrote:One last comment…guys…we’re forgetting something…the large PYO dragon will be coming out soon, that one is the one that will let Purplecat really shine! And we can get her to paint for us!
So all is not lost.
Hang in there.

Indeed! π
Yeah, a little will work if it’s going to. Don’t pour it directly on the sculpt.
I like the barn owl idea π

I’m not sure what other faires they are at, but they are always at the NYS Ren Faire, just north of NYC. A friend of mine has a dark colored one with dark green eyes if I remember correctly π Someday I’ll get one, when I’m not broke buying garb, leather and sharp pointy objects, like the $1200 katana I finally finished paying off and picked up last year. 8) *pets the pretty shiny*
Maybe a Qtip and a little bit of rubbing alcohol?
I don’t think the huffing and puffing was in reference to you specifically, Purplecat, but people getting upset and blaming windstone.
We’re here for you, in whatever you choose to do! *hugs*
I agree! Don’t give up painting! Your PYOs are gorgeous! π I’d love to get an airbrush lesson from you! I have access to automotive paints π
Also, do see if anyone would be open to buying any of the broken windstones you wouldn’t want to keep? I’m sure there are people who would love to try and rebuild one, or try to match a paint job or something.
I could, but it wouldn’t get posted until morning. I’m at work and will be sound asleep just before my head even hits the pillow π I don’t get home until 1-2am EST π
