Iwata and Badger are both good brands. Whether you decide on a top loading or bottom loading airbrush comes down to preference (they each have their pros and cons, but it mostly comes down to preference).

The one I use is a Badger. My dad’s old one that’s still working just fine is also a Badger. I can say that the newer airbrushes seem to fine tune between fine and wide spray a bit more nicely than much older airbrushes. I’m happy to find that my newer Badger uses exactly the same size bottles as his old one. As long as you take care of it and clean it properly, a good airbrush will last you a good long time. I use a small, portable air compressor with my airbrush (I can easily pick it up and carry it around where I want around the house and garage without an issue, or if I need to use it for something else, like refill a tire or something (handy for multiple purposes!). Either brand is good quality. Look into models and reviews on the different ones from each brand and how much you would like to spend. My parents bought me mine 2 years ago for Christmas (they got it on a really good sale). Worth keeping that in mind, since it is getting to be near that time of year. You might find a good sale either in a local art store or online.

All of the Pintos my older brothers and Dad had were given nicknames, more just so we could tell which one was being talked about, since there was more than one Pinto in the household. The ‘Silver Bullet’, the ‘Brown Turd’… not sure if the dark green one ever had a nickname and I think there was a baby blue one at some point. Cheap car with easy to swap out and find parts.

I have friends who name their cars. The car I drove my senior year in college (Plymouth Duster) was nicknamed my ‘Mighty Car’. It stopped on a dime, went when I wanted it to go, and got me from point A to point B. Very responsive handling. My brother’s ’67 Mercury Cougar hardtop was affectionately known as ‘Cheez Whiz/Cheese Whiz’ due to the custom paint color looking about the same color as the canned processed food product. With a black hard top… looked pretty good actually (gotta love how some of those colors look horrible on newer cars, but put it on a muscle car or sports car and they look fantastic!). I’ve only ever owned one vehicle and it does not have a name. If I ever get my muscle car, it will probably earn a nickname of some sort, but maybe not.

Blizzards are easy. Generally, stay warm, keep a stocked cupboard of at least the basics, and a shovel and something like a snow rake to clear the roof (if it’s a major snowfall, you may have to clear the roof at least once during the middle of the storm) and if you don’t have to drive, stay home. You also usually get a warning in advance about them too. I love going out sledding in blizzards! It’s always so quiet and lovely (I live in a village, not out in the middle of nowhere with no lights)!

The Red Fox sculpt has never been in production. The only Red Fox sculpt pieces currently out there are from quest prizes, Ebay, etc. This is also true of the Bat-Eared Fox and the Arctic Fox sculpts.

Glad to hear you are all safe. The fault that slipped was the West Napa Fault. It looks like there was also just an earthquake in Peru estimated at about a 7.0. The eastern side of the ‘Ring of Fire’ is active today.

In all the years of the forum (or prior to), I haven’t seen or heard of a jade lap dragon.

This is just a great sadness. I’m not a celebrity person, but he was just so talented and genuinely a nice guy. I always wished I was related to him in some way and he does remind me a lot of my dad (who looks kind of similar to him, and they have a similar sense of humor *hehe). Saw him live a few years ago and he was just amazing on the spot picking on some people in the audience, including a local politician with something that was recent from that day… totally on the ball. He’s dealt with alcoholism and depression on and off for years. There are a few more movies coming out in the next year he was in, so I don’t think one show being cancelled was the tipping point. The depression has been there on and off for years. This time however, the demons won. Such a talent the world has lost. This one truly makes me sad. 🙁 Bangarang.

That silver mother kirin is just gorgeous. I don’t recall a silver koi being done (I might have to look back in the special products) and she’s one of the most gorgeous mommies I’ve seen.

At least one male and one baby silver koirin were made previously, but pattern wise, they were a different scale pattern than a lot of the koirins have been painted more recently and don’t match the pattern on the koirin mother. Equally gorgeous, just a different scale pattern. 🙂

                          Over react much? 0.o

I had never heard of EMT so I immediately thought EBT when I read it… maybe they thought the same thing?

Like, do you accept EBT as payment? If someone asked me that you would get an immediate response out of me that is not so happy. I dunno if that’s what this person thought… that’s the only way I could justify that reaction. If you had am EBT card and were using it to buy Windstones I’d be pretty pissed too! LOL!

Still though, know what the hell you are yelling at someone for before you jump down their throat. What a jerk.

Oh! The EBT cards! I wonder if that is what they thought you meant (I was thinking EMS for shipping). EMT I don’t think is found in the US, but EBT are the welfare/unemployment cards some states use. If the seller thought you were trying to pay with one of those, that would explain the reaction. An over reaction, but a lot of people get really heated about EBT cards being used for things other than what they are supposed to be used for (there is a lot of fraud in their use/misuse). While I wouldn’t react quite so rudely if someone offered to pay with an EBT card, I’d be pretty darn perturbed (to put it very mildly) if someone offered to by a Windstone with one. Some would not react so politely though to such an offer!

If you felt like trying once more, you could maybe try to explain that you meant a bank transfer out of Canada (EMT = electronic money transfer) and didn’t realize it was something not found in the US, that there might have been a misunderstanding and see if maybe they would except something like Paypal or a postal money order instead. Worth trying if you felt comfortable doing so. Up to you, but I’m guessing this was a misunderstanding. Just a thought.

I think I don’t quite understand their response. Are they located in the US? EMS (not EMT) shipping is not something you can get in the US as far as I am aware. I get EMS shipping on my Asian BJDs shipped from overseas, but I’ve never found it to be an option shipping from the US. USPS, UPS, FedEx, and DHL are the options, with USPS having the least fees for the recipient if shipping overseas. I wonder if maybe the seller misunderstood what you were asking, not being familiar with EMS shipping? Perhaps they misunderstood what you wrote to them. Craigslist is full of scammers, so it’s not out of the realm for someone to suspect that if someone asks for something they aren’t familiar with in the way of payment or shipping.

Late on getting this done, but work has kept me busy and I’ve been tired due to not sleeping lately. *blech* Sorry for the delay! I was going to update my post here, but it won’t let me edit the post to add photos.

Here are the photos of the Fossil keeper I painted for Valdata:

I had to retake photos of the lovely Forest dragon I received from Chloe with the DSLR to show off the colors correctly. Here they are:

Yes, unless it was an ebay piece, there haven’t been any grey cats in production. Your best bet would be to paint a pyo or have someone paint one for you. There are no pieces in the classifieds that are grey colored cats or flapcats at the moment, but you could always make an ad.

That was the koirin I was planning on bidding on, and missed getting past family and to the computer by a minute. >_< *grumble family first world problems* I'm sure there will be more koirins in the future. 🙂
