Wow, what a beautiful dragon! I love browns and blues together like that. Very well painted too π .
You always paint awesome wolves, and this beauty is no exception π . Very nice job!
That would be a red dragon that I would definently purchase, if I ever have any money again π .
I’d love to see her done as both :squeak: :squeak: :squeak: π !!
Water should also work to get the eye out or moving. I usually get a small flat brush wet and gently work around the socket until the glue softens enough to pop the eyes out. Just be careful not to mar that pretty paint job though π . Very cool wolf 8) .
That’s awful that you dropped two in a row π₯ π₯ π₯ ! The pink guy is very beautiful, and I’m positive he would sell if you fixed his horn and disclosed he was repaired . Apoxie sculpt is an awesome medium that I am now just dicovering thanks this forum. A little time spent and patience and he could be as good as new π .
I love the OW, and I really hope he becomes a LP color because there is no chance I’ll ever have the money to bid on a ebay item π . I like that blackberry color as well…The sand male dragon is very pretty too, but he reminds me to much of a brown dragons π . I could take or leave it.
I love to see centaurs! That’s something you don’t see alot of. I’m not a fan of the wizards, I don’t collect ‘human’ looking things…a centaur or mermaid would be as close to a humanoid thing that I would collect. Big YES on a horsey-man (or woman)! I also really liked the anthropamorphic wolf-woman that is in Melody’s gallery. Very cool 8) . I could see that as a shaman of sorts. I’m hopeing that Melody will finish her π .
It is a very elegant piece. Thanks for sharing, Melody π .
Great job drag0n! I love that sculpt, so cute π .
I think for me me the ‘perfect’ sized PYO is the griffin. I love the Keeper PYO, but I found his size a little cumbersome, but I like a challange π . This is by no means a complaint, for the personal reward of finishing my Keeper was great and just made me want to paint more! PYOs are quite addictive for me. As soon as I get one finished I have about ten other ‘ideas’ for more PYOs. I’m squeaking BIG TIME for a PYO hippogriff, I don’t care how big she is!! Melody, If the shipping was cheap and somehow gypsum weighed ALOT less, I’d paint a ‘full sized’ Hippogriff π ! I also ditto that for the PYO Flap Cats π .
I don’t really like the Dichroic eyes in the Laps. I think it makes them kinda creepy looking. Dichroic eyes seem okay in the OWs and SKs, but I’d rather see them in person to make a choice. At this point, I can take or leave the special eyes.
I find if you let your first layer dry completly then I don’t really have any problems with drying other layers. If it’s really humind drying could take a little longer, maybe an hour or so on the first coat. General rule of thumb, the thicker the paint the longer to dry. Some of the less expensive paints and really old paint can have drying issues as well. Make sure you are not using oil-based paints as those will not dry very quickly either.
I have found that sometimes when I’m putiing the first layer on a PYO that some spots don’t absorb the paint as well as others. I suspect this is due to the the handling prior to painting the first coat π . I figured it may be the oils from your hands that leave little ‘dead spots’ where the paint has a harder time absorbing and drying. I don’t know if anyone has had that problem  .The kirin is very pretty. I’m a sucker for color and you can’t get more colorful than a rainbow π . You also did a great job on the face and mane areas π .
I actually really like the Blackberry Lap. I’m not much for the red dragons, but I find her rather elegant in those dark reds and golds π . I do have trouble with the Dichroic eyes, they look weird to me π . I suppose they are much nicer to see in person.
