I was watching that auction and was going to bid if it stayed low enough. I wondered what happened to it 😕

Siobhan Ryan, the girl shown in the video while in the hospital passed away last week. I look at her in her hospital bed and it brings me back to all the times I’ve been with my husband while he faced the same thing. I really hope that one day they find a cure for this disease.
First congrats on the little one. Second you shouldn’t be giving him formula unless your peds doc tells you to. If you give him formula it will affect your milk supply. The more he nurses the more milk you will produce. Its supply and demand and if you are giving him formula it will cut down on your supply. It’s normal for him to lose some weight after birth and it takes a couple of days for your milk supply to come in. Do you have a lactation nurse you can talk to? One should have come to visit you in the hospital before you went home. If not find a la leche league in your area they have people you can talk to. They also have a forum you can post questions on. They know alot about breastfeeding and have alot of information. If you have any questions I can try to answer them. I’ve been breastfeeding for 5 months now.
I’m no help with this since I don’t give Alyssa a bottle but Danny does. I know he has had problems with her not wanting bottles so I’ll see if he can put his two cents in.
I remember when she posted that she was pregnant but never remember hearing anything else. I always wondered how she was doing. I didn’t know about her forum, I’ll have to go check it out. Congrats on the little one!

I figure since so many of us here have children or are getting ready to have them maybe this can help them out. Since this is my first child and I have to idea what I’m doing I have a few questions….
Alyssa is 5 months old and every time we eat around her she is always reaching for what we have so I figure we should start her on solid foods (her peds doctor says the same thing). I have the rice cereal but haven’t given her any yet. I was reading about teaching her how to drink out of a cup. When do I give it a try and what should I put in it? When can I start her on juice and water? Also I think she is teething pretty bad since he has kept me up the past few nights and is really fussy. I give her tylenol when nothing else seems to work. What else can I do for her? I can use pretty much any advice on what to do for teething.These past few days I’ve been so frustrated. I’m irritated at John’s Hopkins for the piss poor treatment they gave my husband. I wasn’t sure if he would come home when I had my two night works so I put in for battalion leave in hopes that I could get off in case he was still in the hospital and I couldn’t find someone to watch Alyssa. So I checked the staffing computer and sure enough I wasn’t off. Lucky for me they let Danny out yesterday. So tonight I’m getting ready for work, kiss Alyssa and Danny goodbye and head off. I get to work and there is an extra person there. I call up my captain since we are not housed in the same station and ask him who is supposed to be working tonight. He tells me ” you and Rick” so I’m like “ok there are three of us down here”. So he looks in the staffing computer and is all like “oh the battalion chief gave you off battalion leave. 😡 Its my captains job to maintain the schedule and he should have checked to see who was working tonight. I checked the other day and they still had me working. So now I’ve driven 30 miles to get to work in my crappy blazer that gets zero miles to the gallon just to be told turn around and go home. I was so pissed, why couldn’t they have told me this yesterday!
No he doesn’t have Chrons what he has is a blockage caused by his cystic fibrosis. Because his body creates too much mucous it builds up in places (like the small intestine) and can cause alot of problems. The only part of him that doesn’t have excess mucous is his lungs since they don’t have the defective gene. He has these obstructions every once in awhile but he can usually take care of them at home.
I’m telling you John’s Hopkins is a joke of a hospital 😡 He sat in the er all night, they refused to call his transplant doctor or his cf doctor. They told him they were too busy and if he wanted them he had to call himself. He started puking all over the place because he was yelling for a basin but they ignored him so he ended up dropping his cell phone and puking on it so its fried. Then he was supposed to take his anti rejection meds at 9pm. Well they didn’t give them to him until 2am! He sat in the er all night and they didn’t do a thing for him. Once they finally admitted him and got him to the floor they took him down to radiology for some kind of super pooper cleaning and now he is feeling better. I am livid at the treatment he got in the er and have contacted the hospital administrator and both of his clinics. I want someones head for the treatment they gave him. I so wish I could have been there but I cant call out of work since we are sooo strapped for cash. I’ve been trying to work overtime and if I called out that would have gone down the drain. I had to get up at 4am to get Alyssa ready so his mother could watch her while I worked. At least Alyssa had a good time today playing with her cousins at grandmas house. Hopefully Danny will get to go home tomorrow. If not I need to find someone to watch Alyssa all night since I have to work night shift. Ugh what a freakin stressful start to the week!
Oh yeah I told him I posted about his hospital trip and he said he hates me now, lol.
Blah so far they haven’t done anything for him. He has been there since 2pm and its now 9:30pm. They said they are waiting on a surgical consult which he doesn’t need. I wish I was there to yell at them and get the ball rolling. I’ve been trying to get Alyssa to bed since I have to get up at 4am so I can drop her off at my mother in laws so I can work tomorrow but she keeps waking up screaming. Blah!
I’m sure he will recover soon, this is nothing compared to what he has been through. It just sucks and I wish it didn’t have to happen.
Like I said he puked on his phone so I can’t call him to find out whats going on. He did manage to call me and say they are going to put a tube into his stomach to give him some meds. Hopefully he wont’ be admitted but we don’t know yet. His mom is going down there now to be with him. At least he will be able to use her cell phone so I’ll know whats going on.
