Its looking better but the antibiotics they have me on are giving me headaches and making me wicked dizzy. Its like being drunk but without the alcohol.
I have sick leave at work (surprising after last years events) so I’m still getting paid. I just didn’t want to have to use it incase I need it for if I, Danny, or Alyssa gets sick. They can’t just swab the outside of my leg because the infection is under the skin. If it was open then they could but since its not all they can do is tell me its cellulitis and treat it as if it were MRSA. If it does open up on its own I’m going to go back and have them swab it but I’m not going to try and open it on my own. It is throbbing like a b though 😕
I don’t have a ruler to measure it but its bigger then a 50 cent piece or (for the windstone fan) about the size of the felt on a curlie. Its right below the old red lump I had last week which seems to be going away.
They said they would have to open up the spot on my leg to be able to get a culture and its not ready to be lanced yet. If its contained in the skin I really don’t want an open oozing sore that can spread the infection. They do treat MRSA with some antibiotics so they said they will just treat me as if I have MRSA to be on the safe side. Its an infection they just don’t know if its MRSA or not. I have my union involved with the whole workmans comp thing but they keep telling me I can’t prove its MRSA so I can’t prove it happened on the job.
I went to work and when I showed my leg to my supervisor they banned me from the station. They called up headquarters and I was told to leave, use MY sick time and go see MY doctor. They said I wasn’t allowed back until I found out what it was. I went to the er and they said they can’t tell what it is for sure but put me on antibiotics anyway. The thing that makes me mad is they pretty much think its MRSA but unless they do a culture (which they can’t because the wound isn’t open) they can’t say for sure. So even if I could say “hey its MRSA” my job says I can’t prove I got it from there so I have to use my own time to cover what I’m missing. I’m so irritated right now.
I’m so pissed, the past week I had this lump on my leg that just kept getting redder and redder (is that a word?). Since my partner at work had MRSA I was all worried that I might have it too but the red lump went away. Yesterday a new lump shows up just below the old one. The last one I had didn’t hurt at all but this one is killing me. I have to work today so I’m gonna see if one of the er docs will look at it for me. If it is MRSA I’m gonna file a first report of injury and make the fire department pay for my medical bills. That plus I’m gonna make them disinfect the station. I’ll be so pissed since I don’t want to spread it to Alyssa or Danny. I’m gonna go beat up my partner when I got to work in an hour too 👿
I’ve never used them (since I breastfeed) and I don’t think Danny has used them. We have the advent bottles and some playtex vent air bottles. Alyssa prefers the playtex over the advent for some reason. I was surprised to get the bottle so quick after filling in the online form. Can’t beat free though.

I get up whenever Alyssa wakes me up (usually around 7am). I feed her while still in bed because its just easier that way. Then we go into the office where I put her in her bouncer so I can log on and check my email. Then I usually check for any new messages on myspace, look at the local news website, see if anything cheap is on ebay, then check this forum and the cf forum. I usually leave my computer on all day since I’m always walking away from it to do things with Alyssa. Sometimes I manage to get some WoW play time but not very much. Thats pretty much what I do lol.
