I forgot about the geese we raised when I was little! π―
We had a really cool white goose and her name was Downy. She kept trying to hatch her eggs (no gander) so we bought 3 goslings and stuffed them under her while she was ‘setting’ on her nest. She raised them and they were named Snap, Crackle, and Pop! π
They were so tame that we would all jump in the old car–geese, too–and drive down the steep hill to the Colorado river (in Austin, TX). We’d all go swimming, and when it was time to go, we hollered at Downy and her brood. They would swim back to us, waddle back to the car, climb in the back floorboard, and up the hill we would go!
They were really good ‘watchdogs’, too! Way louder than our ‘regular’ guardians… π
So glad that you are all okay, and that it was on the island instead of a wall! π―
SQUEEEEEE!!! My first griffin! Hope my brother likes him, if not, I’ll have to get him one of the sunsets instead. (might do that anyway so his will have the hangtag and box…) We’ll see! π
Ebay was really acting up, and I couldn’t see the end of the auction for about 2 minutes after it ended. π―
Thanks for all the luck everyone sent my way! Hugs and cookies all around! π
Well, I just put a bid in on him, so we’ll see what happens now!
Wish me luck! π
[This is one of the retired Tan (or Brown, same thing) Griffins. This one has the dark stripey wings. The female and chicks have not been made for this version of the Tan Griffins yet, but there should be some soon.]
Thanks, Emerald! π
Am I using the wrong terminology here? Is this one actually one of the retired Browns (not Tan) that briefly had mates in the WS store? π
I think Susie said something about the next batch of Brown females being made with stripey wings, and there being a waiting list for them. Do you think they will match each other?
Thanks for being patient with me since I’m still kind of new at all of this! π³
I’m going to have to think on this overnight, then make up my mind at lunch tomorrow. If I bid, it’ll probably be between 10-12 Pacific time. If I don’t, then you guys pounce! I don’t want anyone to miss out because of me even though there are more of these out there, and they’ll probably show up with Christmas on the way.
Have a great night/morning/day (depending on where you are)! π

Thanks! My brother likes the griffins, so I thought I’d ask around before potentially bidding on something for him for Christmas.
Would somebody please tell me which version of the tan griffin this is? π
I’ve never seen a ‘stripey winged’ one, so I’m not sure if this is one or not.
Thanks! π

Happy Turkey Day (late) from snowy 19 degree Colorado!
Not sure about the PYO status, but Melody’s post (on page 2, from Nov. 19) just says Keeper in the number eight spot. It’s probably PYO, but we’ll have to :squeak: for an answer! π
Wow! I want a hippogriff and a keeper and a pyo flapper and a phoenix and a winged wolf… π (and a better paying job to pay for it all… π― )
What colors will the keepers be? All/some of the original production colors or something new? I love the green keeper in the gallery! (drools all over the keyboard and can’t type anymore…) π

Thanks! Now I have to make time to take pictures of all of them so I can show them off! 8)
Pam Thompson wrote:Congrats, I was hoping you’d get him. I’ll try to ship him off tomorrow. I packed as carefully as I could. I am mostly worried about his face, it would be so easy for his face or nose to get smashed. Although the guy I got him from sent him in just a box with some tissue paper and a couple packing peanuts, inside a box with just a couple more packing peanuts. When I picked up the box I could feel him rattling around inside, and when I opened his box up, he was upside down on his head! π― Amazingly, all he got from the ride was just that handful of paint chips.
Thanks!!! I can’t wait to get him into the case with his extended family! I honestly don’t think I could fit anyone else in there, either! All 10 rubies, 2 emeralds, a BVP OW, and the rest of the peacocks are awaiting his arrival! π
Sounds like he went over Niagra Falls in a barrel… π― Hopefully he will have a safer trip this time!
