Wow! I never knew there were two different Rubies… Looks like most of the ones Rage has are the newer version.
Rage and I have the #6 BVP OW, and the #1 Labradorite Lap dragon! 8)

You can keep the Lap, but would your man be willing to give lessons? XD
Lovely pics, too!
Seriously! I thought I had hope when I caught my boyfriend admiring my silver spectral….but alas. It was just because he looks “tough an cool” *re* :nea:
When you said years to find each other, how did you two meet, if you don’t mind me asking? 🙂 And again, hopefully Im not prying (just curious!) how long were you two together before he took a liking to your windstones? Or at least how long until he realized that getting them for you gets SUPER HUGE brownie points? 🙂
Not prying! I enjoy talking about Rage! 😉
Our horses introduced us! I was carrying a 50 pound bag of grain over my shoulder. He walked over and took it from me. Then, being the gentleman he is, he carried that one (and the others that were waiting around the corner) to my barrels for me. I wasn’t sure whether to be thankful or outraged since I have no trouble throwing 50 pound bags of grain around. (the 75-80 pound bales of alfalfa are another story!)
That’s when we started talking and became friends. He was just through his second divorce, and my second was almost finished.
It took him almost three years to get me to get married again. Neither of us had any Windstones then, but we gave entire sets to each other as our wedding presents. He got all the peacocks for me; I got all the ruby ones for him.
Yikes–I just looked at the clock! Way past my bedtime… More another day! :bye:skigod377 wrote:And my last name DOES start with a K!! No IDK or ICK initials, I guess. 😆 Hmmmm… ILK….
Oh, no!! It was just a shot in the dark… 😮 One of my friends named his son ANW, and I was instantly laughing my head off! I had to explain the A&W rootbeer thing to him, and the poor kid is stuck with being ‘rootbeer’ for all eternity! XD
Congrats! What’s the last name start with? (You don’t want to end up with, um, say ICK for initials or she’ll really get picked on!) 🙄 Or am I the only one who worries about initials? 😳
I loved it! I’m a huge JJ Abrams fan (Alias/Lost) so I was very curious to see his spin on things.
Watched the original show, all the movies, and all the spin offs, but missed a few scattered episodes while I was on Active Duty. Even watched the animated version when I was really little…
This seemed like an introduction to me, and I’m wondering what they will do with the alternate timeline. Endless possibilities, of course.
Took the step-daughter to see it–now we’re watching all the old movies so she can get a better idea about the Trek universe. 🙂
Still surprised that Karl Urban (Eomer from LOTR) did such an outstanding job as Bones because I only know him as Eomer. 😳
Loved the Enterprise, as always. Got seriously choked up when Nimoy closed with the immortal, “space, the final frontier…”tasgrs wrote:Mirrako wrote:Very nice! Thanks! What bloodlines did you have?
Nope…no “goggles”. 😀 And no gray anywhere at the moment. Out of about 12 foals, only 1 was born with the gray around the eyes so far. My stallion is actually homozygous for black; doesn’t carry the red gene for chestnut, or the agouti gene for bay. Unfortunately, gray is a “masking” gene; it covers all colors, and you have a 50% chance of any offspring being gray right off the top. Almost all of our foals so far have been born black, and turned gray later at various ages–I have one colt we sold who just turned 5, and he’s still 99% black. And on the other hand, I have a yearling colt here now whose mother is also gray, and he’s already going gray. This girl’s half siblings were born very nearly the same color she is right now, kind of a mouse color, with the silvery legs, no gray visible anywhere for at least the first 6 months. There is a *very* small chance that Misty will be either black or black bay. I really need to see her outside in good light and take pictures to be able to get a better idea. She hasn’t been outside yet because we’ve had nothing but rain for like the last week or so, and everything is nothing but mud. 🙁 I hope she’ll give me an idea of what color she’ll be before she goes to her new home. She’s already spoken for, and will be going to Colorado when she’s old enough to travel.
The vet feels she’s gray, and I did, too until I was looking closer at her tonight. Her color is subtly different from a couple of the others. She’s not as brown over her body, and her legs are more silver–her sister’s lower legs were almost a tweed color. So, now I’m not sure.
I can’t wait to see her go outside for the first time. That’s always neat to watch. I’ll have to charge up the video camera. 8)
:hi: We had some Polish/Egyptian and some pure blue list Egyptians–Raffles and Ansata ibn Halima were the most recognizable names. My last mare traces all the way back to Queen of Sheba in the Egyptian desert before showing all ‘desert bred’ on her ancestors’ papers.Yay! Haven’t heard horsey-speak since I was in school for range animal science a bazillion years ago. Where will she be in CO? I’m in the middle-ish eastern side…
My mare, Mirraj, is a black bay. Her son was born the same, but had the ‘goggles’ and silvery legs, so he turned fairly quickly. His name is Jeran, and he’s steel and silver with dapples right now. I lost his daddy, Co Ment, a couple of years ago, and still miss him terribly. DragonsRage (my hubby) and his daughter have a Quarter mare that is bred to a monster black Andalusian/Quarter cross. Her name is Trouble, she’s chestnut, and she’s due (probably) the last week of June. (don’t know for sure, but she was covered the last time on 28 July last year…)
Will definitely have to talk with you again! I’m headed for the barn now–they are boarded, so it’s a drive (and a drag not having them on the same property). :bye:
Don’t have time to answer all the others individually, so I’ll just say this to everyone who got a kick out of our posts and replied:
THANK YOU!
Later! :bye:

Thanks! The dragons were only there for a couple of (really bad) beauty shots. They are in wood and glass cases to protect them from the cat hair and dust. I still haven’t had time to try to get some proper pictures… 😳
There are a few candles and framed photos back in the middle with the gargoyle and hippogriff.setsunawolf wrote:That is an amazing picture. Congrats on your lap. I’d like a man to treat me that way too. But I have lousy taste in men in general:oops: , so probably not gonna happen. Maybe you could give me some tips on how to find a good one? 😀 😉
Hmmmm. First–don’t try to find the perfect person. Perfect doesn’t exist in the real world. Second–learn to be patient. Third–(here’s the hard part)–figure out what it is that you really want out of life, or at least something pretty significant. Work as hard as you can to achieve your goal. Take a look around every once in a while, and if you see somebody else fighting for the same things, you’ve either found a new friend, or a potential soul mate! 😮
We had both been through two nasty divorces (each!) and were not even remotely interested in new relationships when we met. It’s amazing what will find you when you’re not looking for it. Does that even make sense?!? 😕
bodine6127 wrote::hi: A wonderful,heart warming story.Both of them. I have a jem of a husband myself,he just doesn’t have that deep of pockets . XD 😆
CongratsThanks! We really don’t either, but he’s been saving for the 5 year thing (5 years as a couple; 2 years married). He is also really lucky on slot machines! I told him he doesn’t have to buy me anything more than a card and a rose until sometime next year. I think I’m still in shock, and have to go peek at the Lap to make sure it wasn’t all a dream. 🙂
Greater Basilisk wrote:Welcome to the forum, Rage. Mirrako, you’re one lucky girl.
One small point of critique on the story, Rage. I’ll ditto the compliments, but maybe you could be more conservative in the use of ellipses. Having them end every second sentence acts like a sedative, at least to me.:hi: I told him something similar about the ellipses, and he usually doesn’t write like that, but was trying really hard for somebody to figure out who he was talking about–the Lap. Jen was the only one who actually said she figured it out right away. If anyone else figured it out earlier, let us know when, it would be fun to know.
Very nice! Does she have the tell-tale silver rings around her eyes and silvery legs? You’ll usually see that the day they are born if they are going to turn… I used to raise Arabians, too! 8)
Not happy with the pictures at all… :negative:
I did put the COA and Jen’s sketch up, so you can see those until I get a backdrop and tripod set up (most likely tomorrow)…

Add me to the envy list. 😛
Her camoflage matches the paper on the wall above the fireplace! How random is that?!? 😕 -
