Yeah, want a Keeper dragon?
Yes I do, but I can buy him, I just wnat to know when they come out, but thank you very much. I’ll send you one when they are ready. You can show others how to paint them.
Zelda wrote:Thanks to Melody and others for your suggestions! The vibrating method is something we do by hand, tapping the molds, with variable success. We run a pretty low-tech operation so the cleaner and the vibrating table aren’t much of an option. Thanks to seeing Melody’s gallery pictures, as well as the work of others with molding and casting expertise, I can say it’s a much better option to have flat-sided mother molds that can be banded or screwed together.
And BTW Melody, there’s nothing negative at all with drawing more! Best of luck!
We patch the previous batch of casting’s bubbles with the plaster from the next batch. The trick is to patch them quick, before they dry out.
I’m drawing like crazy , thanks!Chessapeaka wrote:John wrote:Chessapeaka wrote:(My parents are cool, but they suffer from “our children are angels” disease… which they usually will acknowledge, but.. eh… I don’t like having my ego stroked when its not deserved. It’s always made me squeamish.)
Hey, since they were born, we have tried our best to bring out the worst in our children. If we have failed it’s because they just don’t get it. Probably should have sent them to public school.
All I can say to you, Chess – is, yes, home schooling sucks. You have no help anymore from me, because you have advanced beyond what I have managed to learn in public schools…which, by the way, was only what I ferreted out for myself. I genuinely wanted to learn certain things,so I learned them myself. Homeschooling happens in Public school too.Touche!*
*Unfortunately I’m too stupid to understand what you meant by that, so I’ll call it even and go away now.

But I doubt it
You guys have the pull!
Romeodanny wrote:I now have the crystal ball, what kind of glue should I use? Should I use elmers? Or should I use a super glue?
We use clear epoxy on the globes. You need to use something that isn’t yucky looking when it dries, because you can see right through the globe. Maybe superglue would work, if it dries nice and clear.
littleironhorse wrote:Looking around I just noticed that both small spotted flap cats (bird and bat winged) were limited production… Any plans on making another batch any time soon?
I forgot about those. I was going to wait a year or so before doing more, but I could do another batch.I am tempted to do them in another color too.
Art Slinger wrote:Hello Melody,
I’m just wondering about something I think I see in some of the Dragons. To me it seems that the pose struck by Male Dragons are based on Feline behavior, but the Mother Dragon seems K-9.
Is this correct? ( just wondering).Wow! Yes! The male dragon is based on a cat pose, and the female is in exactly the same pose the family dog would always take when it was about time for his walk.It was his waiting pose. He would sigh really loud, so you would notice, then lay down next to the front door with his head across one paw…and his eyes would follow you intently, just like the female dragon’s. I am amazed you picked up on that!
Snapdragon wrote:Will this be the next set of OW’s that you release, after the emeralds are gone?
Maybe, or maybe something different;there is no reason I can’t put two kinds of Warriors up at the same time. I haven’t done a one-of-a-kind lately.I’ve got a few of those sitting around burning holes in my desk.
Snapdragon wrote:Your next ebay auction listing:
“Here they are guys“.
Save yourself the time. I’m sure it took you longer to list the items then it did to sell them.
I know! But there is still the off chance that someone will stumble across the thing and not know what is going on..
drag0nfeathers wrote:I’m waiting patiently for any to pop up on ebay. I hope I am home
They should go on Ebay today.Today being Mon Jan. 8. I think we only are putting on twenty of them this time. But I will do more.
ruffian wrote:Do you have any plans to do them in the old green, brown, white, ruby colors?
I’ll take suggestions. If there is a color lots of people really want, I can do them!

littleironhorse wrote:Hmmm… I may be alone in this, but I’m not sure naming him is such a good idea? It sets him apart from all the other PYOs. If you don’t want to go with Large PYO Dragon in case you do a larger one later on, why don’t you just call him Medium PYO Dragon? That way “large” is still available for future use, or if you start really getting into the PYO line and do several more, you could always go with names that refer to position, for example: Lying Down PYO Dragon, Sitting PYO Dragon, Paw-Up PYO Dragon, Curled PYO Griffin, and so on.
I like the name you’ve chosen for all the production items, but somehow, I feel that naming the PYOs would, in a way, restrain the way we see them by giving them a pre-determined feel. Because, in my mind, when you name something you assign certain qualities and expectations to it.
Am I making any sense?
“Keeper” does refer to his pose. I think I’ll just call him a pyo Keeper dragon, ’cause he can keep whatever you like. The paw is too small for a real bee, though. It is just big enough for a jewel, or little stone.
These sculptures need names to differentiate them from each other. We try not to name them in ways that could be confusing… such as “sitting dragon”. Then we went and called the first one the “Small pyo dragon”. That was real smart, since its size/name is relative to the other pyo dragon(s).That is the problem with language. Everything must have a title or name, and that limits the way we think! That is a very profound observation, but unless we use numbers, we are stuck with names of some kind!
John suggested “Clutch”. Is anyone here old enough to remember the old “Clutch Cargo” cartoons that were on tv? They were terrible. Talk about a name giving something certain qualities! I don’t want to think of that cartoon series!emerald212 wrote:I still like Finder Keeper. It’s just a cute play on words, and he could be hanging onto something for you so you don’t have to go look for it, like keys.

I tried that and it did’t work!:p
