Leigha I never did finish the Na’vi Keeper. He was put on the back burner for a while, and now he’s with Koishii and Grayfire who have plans to add their own special touches to him. 🙂

As you can see I’m painting him in many layers, with a lot more to go. I’m painting him in the style of my dragon illustrations. See Bottom pic for an example. 🙂

“Royal” is my latest PYO, a commission for one of my customers. He is painted in magenta/plum and gold colors, with light yellow eyes and a jonquil tail jewel. I left his paw empty so they could choose what he will hold. 🙂

The “Forest Nymph” Keeper is my latest PYO, a commission for one of my customers. They liked the “Forest Nymph” theme when I painted it on the Dragon sculpt and wanted it on a Keeper. The main difference between this one and the Dragon is eye color. The Keeper has light brown eyes versus dark brown. I left her paw empty so they could choose what she will hold. 🙂

As some of you know, I’m an avid storm chaser and have quite the obsession for severe weather and tornadoes! As a matter of fact this season will be my 9th year chasing. 🙂 Hard to believe it has been that long! I shoot photography and video on our chases, but ultimately the goal is to provide NOAA and local authorities with the information required to get the warning out faster for those in the path of severe weather. We relay this info via ham radio or cell phone, depending on our location.
“Tornado” is a commission for JellyFish, and I had an absolute blast painting him! He has one tornado on each side, complete with a little debris cloud. He has metallic teal eyes and a blue zircon tail jewel. In his paw he holds a hand made sparkly clay tornado which jiggles around in circles on its sterling silver hook. My next weather related PYO will be painted to look like actual doppler radar, in the shape of a hook echo. 🙂
Wow thanks guys, that really means a lot to me! I love reading your ideas about these pieces, it shows me another perspective that I wouldn’t have seen otherwise. Very cool thoughts!
Koishii as a matter of fact I’m currently working on a Tornado Keeper for JellyFish. I should have the photos posted later tonight! 🙂
