well i think that was the idea,as she knew us windstone junkies would pay more, first off because were junkies, secondly because we really know the quality of her work 😆

😆 boy that brings it all back, the religous door to doors, ugh they used to come by my parent’s house when we were kid’s,one day my older sister answerd the door in a hooded black cape, with a model human skull with a lit candle stuck on top, with one of our ball python’s draped around her neck, well let me tell you was a long long time since they have been back 😆

well cool site, though i did know some of that diet, but as far as i know if you raise an english sparrow or starling you can’t set them free it’s agianst the law,im surprised they don’t state that as far as i know it apply’s to every state, unless that law has been changed by now but i don’t think so.

well yes i did know this but i have been selling on e-bay for years,to be honest though i save and re-use most packaging anyway not only is free good but it’s nice to recycle,i have never had a package that i have shipped get damaged(hubby calls me the mad packer)i pack an item the way i would want it packaged to me,and yes that’s even with shipping to other countries,so far i have been lucky myself and have not had to make a claim 🙂

there is a place called the orchid mall on the web it has orchid nurseries listed, and yes there are some nurseries located in canada, there’s also e-bay i have purchased a lot from there to,like i said i mostly collect fragrant hybrids and species 😀

the two in flower you have pictured are both cattleya hybrids,i would suspect they are older crosses which are getting harder to find these day’s,do you have any better pic’s?i may have seen it before i have seen so many catt’s as they are one of my favorites,oh i was going to ask if anyone want’s we can alway’s do some trade’s as i have a few plant’s that need to be divided and re-potted 🙂

aw i thought it would be nice,as im sure like me were all waiting for spring to show,it’s been real rainy here yuck,i am a member of the long island orchid society,i used to belong to the american orchid society to,but the yearly fee went up and it’s cheeper to stick with my local society 🙂

i have at this time-19cattleya hybrids 1species,7bulbophyllum species 2hybrids,1mini oncidium hybrid,4phaleanopsis hybrids,1ascocenda hybrid 1vanda species,2dendrobium species 3hybrids,4masdevallia hybrids and 10misc. species, most are fragrant, but i do have a few that are not because there cool, and a few that smell bad 😆 bulbophyllums lucky the bad smellers you have to get up close to the flowers, one smells like a cross of sweat and pee,one smells like rotted meat and the other has a musty garbage smell 😆

it’s no so much as tricky, you need to learn what species and hybrids will do well in your condition’s,or you can change your condition’s to some degree to accommodate them, after twenty years of growing i still kill one every now and then, and there are alway’s some that just don’t grow and bloom well for me,i love angreacums but i have tried them and they alway’s rot on me,im thinking because they like it drier, and i have a more humid growing area.

well i put some of my big catt’s and a few other’s outside from spring after the frost, till fall before the frost, this is my greenhouse in my basement apartment livingroom.highest the temp ever gets is 80,the lowest the temp ever gets is 35,i have been growing for twenty years and i have to say it’s one of my most satisfying hobbie’s 🙂

to be honest nam you don’t need a lot of time or money,i have these guy’s set up so lighting is on a timer,i only have to change the timer for the four season’s,i water with fertalizer once a week accept for the few that need to stay moist so they get twice a week, during the winter no fertalizer and a few don’t even get watered for 6-weeks,as for cost you can even go to home depot and get a phaleanopsis in full bloom in a 6-inch pot for $14.99 to $24.99,way cheeper then collecting windstone’s 😆

first one prpl/white is a dendrobium nobile hybrid smells like lilacs,2nd one purple is a phaleanopsis java rose cross spicey/sweet scented,3rd the orange is masdevallia ted khoe one of the few unscented i have, the 4th pinkish is cattleya secret love spicey/floral scent, the 4th white with pink spots is trichopilia suavis(species)strong scent of daffodils.
