I miss the days of being excited everyday to see what new thing might randomly pop into the store, like a new flapcat color or a restock of something not seen in quite some time….I also miss things in animal prints on like unicorns in quagga, okapi and oh numbat in the Ebay store and small batches of old animals in the Ebay store…….I miss flap/flip flap cats painted in cat colors and animal prints, I miss pebbles that aren’t grab bags, I miss the random things stocked like mouse wizards, bats….I miss pegasi, kirins, flap cats, flip flap cats, griffins, frogs, baby meerkats, mother meerkats getting a real release so we can all have one, baby winged meerkats, small bird-wing and bat-wing flap cats and so much more!
I miss so much being excited about store releases and Ebay store releases!

Thanks! It was great food-wise! Got some brownies from my mom and had a yummy dinner of Polska kielbasa and Mac and Cheese plus the brownies for desert with my hubby!

September Raffle Prize 2022 AHD Male GriffinI would love to see kitties restocked soon too, the Lynx point flips were put in the store almost 9 years ago, I finally found one but I still would love to see them restocked so that everyone can have the chance to own one. I asked Susie about them last year and she said there was a very long waitlist for them so I never quite understood why they haven’t been restocked in all this time? All flaps and flips are so beautiful, we all need that prettiness in our lives instead of trying to find the few out there that might be sold by another member but that’s such a small pool that it rarely happens at all!
I’d love to see all those others restocked as well, Ocelot was such a pretty color scheme! And adult kirins, we haven’t had those since I think the albinos which we released *looks up the page* in 2013?! Oh my! We really need more of those!
and perhaps finally going through the old masters and old molds storage unit too? there’s so few old animals out there these days and newer members don’t even know what they are when they show up on Ebay rarely. Yes, part of me wants the Mother Meerkat’s molds and master found but there’s just many wonderful animals in the old animal line that I know tons of people would love to own if they were made again, they did so well on Ebay back in the 2011 and 2012, they’d sell well again!

4. September Raffle Prize 2022 AHD Male GriffinI’m really sorry about your cat Jinyxy. I can definitely relate to that kind of loss. Maybe if the capybaras do really well the concept you’re describing might be reconsidered. We can hope anyway.
The thing with the castings though that exist in Melody’s office are just that, they are more than likely castings from the old molds. You can’t make a new mold from a gypsum casting. Gypsum castings are what the molds make. The original sculpture they make the molds from is an entirely different material that I believe is baked before a mold gets cast from it. THAT is the missing piece of the puzzle that makes it a lot more difficult to do then it sounds like it would be. I would image at this point wherever THAT key is, it’s probably deteriorated quite a bit and would require a lot of restoration before a new mold could be made off of it. Melody can correct me if I’m wrong, but I’m fairly certain the gypsum statues that you are seeing are of little to no help in the mold making process.
thanks for understanding, losing her definately was a very hard loss….I guess I’ll just keep up hope that the capys do well and maybe meerkats will follow, or maybe one of the few people with one of the old ones or the Ebay one wants to sell their’s to me one day!
understood, my brain keeps thinking of the lions’ new mold and the baby bears and wondering why they worked but I dunno, picture of lion’s quote about it below…..perhaps Melody you could clarify on all this?
A very late reply, but that description you posted only says that they didn’t have any old *castings* of the lion, so more were made from new molds. As drag0nfeathers says, the key here is that there’s an original sculpture that’s used to make the mold, and then castings are made from the mold. Presumably they did still have the original lion sculpture, so new molds could be made from it and then used to produce new castings.
Your kitty is very beautiful, and losing her must have been a great loss. I hope one day you can find a Windstone piece that will serve as an equally beautiful memorial!
except that newer info has come to light since then…..Melody makes the original, that is molded then she carves into the new one to make the finer details, that one is made of gypsum then she takes a mold of the newer one when finished so the old original clay one/first one isn’t needed to make a new mold…..so the gypsum meerkats that live on the floor and any later casting in gypsum of anything can be made again with a new mold off of that….
I’m still hoping that I will find one of these someday or that they will be made again so I have that loving memory sculpture to remind me always of my amazing Jinyxy……
