I know, I have a sun ruby. I was hoping to get the other two-baby and regular-to match. Guess that won’t happen! I have a jade sun but I don’t know if there is another shade, I think there is. I have the dark one and I think there is a lighter one, but that true of the sun as well as the regular oriental jades? I also have the gold/bronze and gold/pearl. The blue is on my want list and the silver is on my WANT list! Did the blue come in different shades too? Are there any others?

What would you use it for and where would you wear it? I know being practical has its drawbacks, but I bought this really beautiful mauve and violet and blue velvet jacket with gold trim with a blouse to go with it and a velvet hat and I haven’t worn it once. Not even to the events where I thought it would be appropriate because they turned out not to be, the events were much more casual. So if you are going to spend the money on this jacket, be sure you can wear it some place you will be comfortable in it. 😀

Wow, they are beautiful! I don’t see a ruby in there, do they also make one of those in this sculpt too? They look so great all lined up together like that! FrozenDragon,if someone overbids me do I get a second chance? Just thought I’d ask before it’s too late!
And yes! That is exactly the “wizard” I bought! I had no idea he would be classified as a “gargoyle”! I really don’t like gargoyles as an idea, meant to scare away demons by becoming ones, generally I think they are a really bad idea! All the ones I have ever seen have been really ugly, horrid really, especially the ones in Europe and I just never wanted to have anything to do with them any of them. I understand they are fantasy figures, but like devils and demons and satans, why have them in your house and your mind? I don’t get it. But this wizard isn’t ugly or scary or demonic. He is just studious and wizardy and foresty and intense. So why was he classified as a gargoyle? Because of the stone texture? Is he rare? The one I got is almost mint,no tag, but only one tiny chip on the bottom of the base. Thank you so much, you are a wealth of information!!

Thank you so much for the clarification, it really helps! I thought the colors were different, but with pictures, it’s really hard to tell when light is being distorted into another color. For instance, I just bought a Large wizard that is just like the one in the Windstone store except that it’s old and has purple paint, not blue. It’s stamped 86. I don’t know if it’s the same paint – purple distorted to blue or whether Windstone used to paint the Large wizards in purple paint and now paints them in blue and does that makes a difference in value? I’ve never been into wizards but this guy is starting to grow on me. I also got a really old wizard that is a stone, no color, with leaves everywhere, beard, robe, hair, really heavy. I have never seen anything like him. Do you anything about him? Any information would be greatly appreciated!! P.S. I’ll P.M. you about the orientals, Frozendragon

i am interested in the orientals, but I don’t know much about them. Are the two bigger ones different from each other or two of the same? They seem to be different colors, are they the same sculpt, but different colors, or different sculpts, different colors? Were there ever any suns in these colors? I am seriously interested in the little one and probably in the bigger ones, but I won’t be in contact with my computer tomorrow until tomorrow night so I would like to know today if possible. Thank you! drgnlvr

in reply to: Silly Internet thing- dragon eggs #667501

I’ve never been able to get any dragon eggs. 😥 Every time I’ve tried, I’ve been told there are none left, maybe later. No more eggs?

in reply to: Stupid hackers #673731

I was watching that auction too and when I saw the bidding reach that pattern, I figured it had been hacked, so I printed out the bidding history for Windstone in case the second bidder was a forum member. I’m so GLAD it was!!! Good for you and congrats!! That is one Beyootiful dragon, Setsunawolf!!! (I learned an Arabic curse when I lived in a commune in the 60’s==I won’t go into that now==which is very appropriate for these hackers. If you think I should post it, let me know! It has no bad words in it!)

Purplecat, the definition of bravery is not about being without fear. It is about being afraid and doing it anyway because it’s the right thing to do. What you are doing is courageous because you are standing up to a bully and a coward and doing what is right even while being afraid. That takes a lot of strength of character and purpose and determination and focused attention. Even if in the remote chance that you don’t win, your sister will know that you cared enough to fight so hard for her and your brother will know that too, that they are not alone in all this. You just keep fighting until you win and you will. Eventually someone will listen. I know if the judge doesn’t, sometimes the newspapers and/or your senator will. You’d be amazed at what some threat of public humiliation will do! Anyway, that’s down the road you haven’t come to yet. I just wanted to say that no matter what happens, it’s not over until everybody gets to sing! OK? You hang in there, you have what it takes, don’t let anyone tell you differently!!! 🙂 drgnlvr

He looks just like the one very first Windstone I ever bought in about 198? He is a peacock male with same coloring. The older ones are distinctly different from the newer peacock ones, I know, because I have both. It’s not the lighting.

Jasmine is so right, you have all the power now of a grown up and you are a SURVIVOR!!! You can help your sister understand that too. I know you’ll get through this, you have already been through so much. Please let us know how it goes. Take all the love we are sending you along with your other supportive people with you into that hearing like it is a clear hard beautiful bubble around you and your mother won’t be able to get through it to you. Really, it works. 🙂 We’re on your side, in your corner, and got your back!

in reply to: Curio glass weight limit #670389

When I had my display cabinet built, I had 3/8″ glass shelves put in with steel supports every 12″. I was told by the glass company that 3/8″ regular glass wlll hold 40 lbs per foot. (See my thread on my new display cabinet and collection if you want to)

I’m really glad you got a good car too! I ALWAYS worry about folks on motorcycles especially in the rain and I KNOW you are glad to be out of this horrid weather! Congradulations!

in reply to: The things you find sometimes… #669613

It’s lovely! I’m so glad you found it and got it out of the mud before the stones got ruined! They are all relattively fragile and somewhat porous. Good for you! 🙂
