Am I missing something? Isn’t this an OW? Ooops!! I should have checked my OW’s and female griffins! I guess it was the color that threw me off! (sorry!)

in reply to: New production color in the works? Maybe? #755825

what about an opal color? A translucent pearly color with blues, greens, and red fire shining through the pearly color? I have a pendant with an opal in it and it’s really beautiful, especially surrounded with other colors.
Another orange/gold mineral is imperial topaz which is a deeper orange than citrine, also more rare. It’s very beautiful set off in gold.

in reply to: Ethics question #755519

I have a sign in my office that says “If you think you are too small to be effective, you have never been in bed with a mosquito”! Have you considered perhaps getting a partner with similar ethics and getting a business loan from the Small Business Administration ( they are very big on women in business as a minority!) and opening your own pet/store? The tide is turning for people who are interested in environmental/”green” issues and with some research for grants, perhaps you can get a grant to do some research into fish intelligence/social habits/etc while you are operating the fish store. There are always possibilities out there to develop a passion. There is a book called “Do what you love, the money will follow” Many people have turned hobbies and interests into businesses that are profitable. You are NOT just a broke nobody, and you don’t need to look to the politicians to help, they can barely stay above water themselves. It takes time and effort to do this and you CAN do it with some direction, some research into the resources, and the passion that you already have to make a success of it. That’s just one possibility out of many that will open up to you when you think “outside the box” For instance, maybe the department of fish and game would be interested in helping you develop a project and pay you for doing the work. Henry Ford said “If you think you can or you think you can’t, either way you will be right”! So maybe focusing on the larger issue not about what this store is doing to help you feel helpless, remember you are not a victim, but the larger issue of what you ultimately want to do with your life and how you can get there from here. If fish is your passion, go after that! “You have all the gifts, talents, skills, and resources you need right now within you to make this happen, you just need to access them.” You can do it!!Think about what you want, start talking to some people, do some research, take some action. The way will open up for you. This frustration is a wakeup call! Please let us know how you are doing!! 🙂

in reply to: puffin cats #755394

The store is “out of stock” right now, that’s why I asked if there were going to be anymore cast, and I’m so glad Melody said that there were going to be more. Hurray!! 😀

in reply to: puffin cats #755388

Melody, are there going to be any more puffin cats? The store is out and one just sold on ebay for $200 😮 . I would like one but not for that price! :nea: ( I have a second chance offer for one for that price, but that’s almost 8 times what the store sold them for. So, are there going to be any more ?

in reply to: somebody took it!! #752828

I’m curious, did he pay for the stuff he put in his truck or did he bring it back or deny it or just drive off? I’ve had that happen at my yard sales too. They ask the price on something, then turn it down but it never gets back on the table. When we had an estate sale when my mom died, we had 700 people show up (we had a lot of help from family, friends, and neighbors or we could never have done it!) But a little child’s card table and 3 chairs all disappeared in the scramble. Somehow they managed to take it right out from under all the watchful people we had. Another one we had, we had big furniture that we couldn’t put away, so I slept outside on one of the beds that was for sale. At 4am, a truck pulled up and started going through the stuff!! When I came awake and started shouting, they ran away into the truck and drove away. If I hadn’t done that, they would have taken everything! It happened again about 10 years later, the college kids came at about 6am and stole a lot of stuff, only I wasn’t there this time, so they got away with it, but I know who they were because one of them left a sweatshirt with the college logo on it! Really amazing! I’m glad I’m not doing yard sales anymore! But I like going to them, not giving them!
I really appreciate all the condolences!! I haven’t replaced the pot yet, but I will when the weather improves. I will keep you posted when I do. Thank you!!

    in reply to: A big discovery… #755200

My mom had a friend who was 29 and the most clueless person I have ever met. She would say things like “where does corn seed come from?” and “Of course stars have 5 points, just go out and look!” When I was trying to teach her to drive, she would drive down the street honking her horn. I said “Why are you doing that?” She said ” I just want the other drivers to know I’m coming!” We were just speechless! (I stopped teaching her how to drive and referred her to a professional driving teacher!) I know I have huge gaps in my knowledge, especially about electronics and seem as ignorant to my friends who take all that for granted because they grew up with it, and I am constantly amazed at what the gadgets can do. But, 5pointed stars? 😮 😆
