Are they that heavy? To me, it seems shipping them shouldn’t cost too much 😕 Then again, I’m totally ignorant in these matters.
The one you linked to ebay looks great, though. I like!
They aren’t that heavy, that’s the weird part. Shipping from Germany is around $50 USD. If I buy the whole set all at once, it would save money on shipping, but I don’t have $300 to invest in the whole set currently. I can’t imagine shipping from britain is much better.

Try here, you will still need to pay foriegn currency on PayPal, but it looks like they have all the flags you wanted here.

Close… but no cigar! I actually already have all the rohan flags pictured there *slightly guilty look*. The ones I’m looking for are *reeeeeeally* hard to find. I found them at flaggen pehl, but it is going to cost an arm and a leg to get them all over here to the US. x.x
I wouldn’t normally be asking about something like this, but I’ve been looking for months both on ebay, and google and still not had any luck…
Any of you seen the “King’s Hall” banners from Lord of the Rings that they are making replicas of? I am having a royal devil of a time finding them… especially in the United States! (most are being shipped from britain or germany) I’ve seen them on ebay, but I am very wary about paypaling overseas… regardless of the destination.
So… I wanted to know if any of you have seen them anywhere (other than occasionally on ebay). I want a whole set very badly. (I have all the other Rohan Banners, but not the king’s hall banners. White celtic horses, for the ultimate win).
For those of you unfamiliar with the banners, here’s a link to one on ebay (there is a total of four different ones).
If you’ve seen any of them, I’d like to know! Thanks!

Any idea what FATE this OOAK Jade Male dragon might have??
He is not OOAK. I am going to make sure he gets kept somewhere special as an example of a bizzare paint job, and entered in the windstone history collection, or kept as a sample. This proves that there are other jades out there. You collectors just need to be more astute in looking for them.
So far he is the ONLY male in this color. So far no one has seen a Male in jade so that was why I said OOAKIf I found one, there are bound to be more. He is probably not one of a kind, because thousands of emerald dragons were made at this factory. He’s the only one known in existence, but that does not preclude others out there. You guys on the board are a good lot of eyes and ears, more than we have here at the factory, so go find them. Once we have a lot of people looking, more are bound to turn up.

This proves what I was trying to say is true – that there are other jades out there other than the scratcher, male coiled, and hatching empress. Us collectors just need to be more astute in looking for them.

because…it.boggles.my.mind.how.different.it.is.from.emerald.
the.placement.of.gold.and.green.and.even.the.gold.used.seems.to.be.strikingly.different.The “Jade” color was part of the emerald coloration. Emerald is made of several layers of different colored painted, to achieve the color you know as emerald. The “Jade” dragons are ones that simply lack one or two (? I don’t know for sure, Melody or dark_zorse probably know!) of the colors that are applied to create emerald. Essentially they are ‘unfinished’ emerald pieces that someone apparently thought were finished and they antiqued ’em, added eyes, gems, horns, a pad, and a clearcoat and off they went!
It’s as if someone were painting a batch of say, emerald peacock dragons and forgot to apply the green, and shipped ’em off that way. They’d look a lot different!
I’m in agreement with this. The jade color appears to be one of the base colors with the lighter colors being added on. What I am thinking, is a few batches of these dragons went out without the lighter grass-green on them that most finished emerald have. This I am hoping happened early in emerald production… if this is the case, there might be a good chance that our history samples might very well be jade! We will see later today when I have time to rifle through the history samples.
I will be posting pictures of the jade male I found (and hopefully any other jades that surface) tomorrow on the sneak peek thread. I forgot my camera today. 🙁
As an addendum, today at the factory, I found a jade male! I am going to go see if I can’t find the color samples we saved of emerald and find out if any of them are jade.
pipsxlch wrote:*clutches all the green dragons* I LOVE my green dragosn! I never really thought of it as cliche, you may be right. But green is my favorite color! (except when blue is)
If it’s a popular thing, all the more reason for the company to run with it, and do more some-kind-of-green dragons (not now maybe emerald peacock works as green for now). I do agree that jade probably wouldn’t be a good idea, though- unless it’s as LP on dragons you KNOW were never made in jade. There would be too much confusion with emeralds I think and people upset about devaluation of their existing jade pieces. Has there been an issue with people upset about devaluation of their LE OWs in experimental colors which ended up being used? (i.e. emerald peacock) Melody did say that any of those colors might end up being used, but people being people…
Well, that’s just the thing. Until we get better documentation, we don’t know *exactly* what dragons were produced in jade. Just because a jade emporer hasn’t shown up on Ebay that this board can remember does not mean they don’t exist – there’s an awful lot of emerald dragons out there that people might not be aware are jade! The only ones we can be 100% positive that were not made in jade are the sculpts that came out after the emerald color was retired (curls). I know if I was a collector that owned, say, a jade emporer, and I knew it was SUPER rare and valuable, I would be really really pissed off that the company that retired it brought them back, and devalued my piece as a result. Melody was wise in leaving loop-holes in the pieces she is now producing that they may be used in the future because that spells out that there may be more -verbatum-, unlike the emerald peacock secret keepers.
And this isn’t to say I dislike green. I like green a great deal myself, but out of the trillions of other color possibilities for a windstone dragon, I’d like to see something new and refreshing in a color maybe we haven’t made yet.

Unfortunately, it looks like she’s just going to give you more guff until you stand up to her.
You should make it clear that you are sorry that she cannot respect your life decisions, but they were your choices to make, and she is making you miserable over them. Additionally, if she wishes to remain an active part of your family, then she needs to be silenced about her prejudices, no matter how ingrained they be, because you have a right to be happy and content with your life’s choices, no matter what she thinks about them.
It takes a lot of courage to take that particular stance (been there, done that, have the T-shirt.), but it might shock her into having a bit more respect and empathy towards your feelings. This is your life, after all. She needs to respect that.
I vote for no as bringing jade up as a production color. We already retired emerald, and even though we know we painted both jades and emeralds of both regular dragons, and oriental dragons, they were both marketed as emeralds, and retired as such (even though us collectors make a distinction). Bringing back jade as a color would not only undercut the value of the retired emeralds, but undercut the value of existing jade pieces by decreasing their rarity. No rising from the dead for a color, I hope.
Plus, we’ve already had two varieties of green (three if you count jade). We need something more creative. Green is the ultimate cliche color for a dragon.

If you want me to salivate you have to show me something other than a dragon. Dragons are nice, don’t get me wrong, but they aren’t my first or second love. Show me Hoofers and Griffins and I might start salivating.
I admit, I am hoarding the hoofer pictures. I may be able to scrounge something up. Because hoofers are ultimate, and final win.
We need more salivating on this thread!
Get this unicorn barf outta here!

Not all us Rednecks are that bad. We just all are card-carrying NRA members.
Ever hear of a driveby happening at a redneck bar…? Probably not. It’s cause we’d whip out our guns and blow the son-of-a-gun away! 😛
AdaraSky wrote:You know, instead of beating the heck out of the seconds, there are always grateful Windstone collectors that will take what you got!!!! hint hint 😀
I’m flattered you guys think my rejects look pretty cool from a distance… but that’s about all the good marks they get. Seriously. You guys are used to the really nice, smooth, and finished pieces that decorate your shelves. The pieces on my paint booth – up close and personal – are truly horrid. Airbrushing is really hard to learn, and those pieces reflect it. Most of them up close are rough textured, sloppy, unfinished, unevenly painted, and a far, far cry from the nice pieces that leave the factory. You guys are used to Melody, and Olympia, and Jennifer’s fabulous works. I’m still in artist-training. Kinda like puppy training… minus the walkies and treats. 😛
Oh. And a lot of those sculptures you guys see that look like bears and flapcats are all flions. Remember when Melody said the flion mold was deformed? Well, there’s a bunch of those reject flions from that casting run that I’m using for practice.
Phoenix wrote:Are those your test paints Zorse?
Is that a bear I see in the background?
Is that a rainbow flapcat or a flion on the left?
So much to oggle!Yes, I am ashamed to admit, those are my test paints. And no, that’s not a rainforest colored flion (just a fugly one). All those sitting on top of my paint booth are all seconds I get to use for learning how to use an airbrush, and for refining my technique. As you guys know, we don’t allow any seconds out of the factory, but they (WISELY!) did not want to turn loose a rookie on production pieces (Nor would you guys I suspect want to recieve a badly painted dragon). So, the seconds all make it to my booth where I get to practice on them before they get mashed up with a hammer.
Please don’t ask for closeups. They really are horrifically painted. Only reason some of them are still sitting there I suspect is to save for teasing me about my days as a rookie. 😛
