      Hey everyone!

So I mentioned back in August that my belly dance troupe & I competed in a big competition & won! Well, last night we finally got the video of our performance in the winners showcase that weekend & i thought I would share it with you!

      http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V0ucKCrDGEw

I’m not sure how to embed the video here so I just posted the link to YouTube; hope that works for everyone!

So my Husband is a viking. Kinda seriously. lol. Decended from them and since we do medieval reenactment gets to be one pretty often. 😉 At an event in August they were selling tshirts with a viking pin up girl on it which he immediately bought for himself. Here is a pic of the shirt:

His one (continuing) complaint though was they didn’t have a redhead version. 😉 He said it a few times & I got an idea for a birthday present as his bday is October 25th. Why not recreate the photo with me as the girl? The idea quickly snowballed & I got some fantastic help from friends; one made the viking 5 sided stool for me. Another let me borrow her round brooches for the clasps. Another brought a spear for me. Someone else found the chain maile bikini place for me to order. I was *really* not keen on that last item but it was needed for the full effect. :p

Another friend of mine & I did the photo shoot last week which we quickly sent the pics to yet another friend to edit them; she needed to add the design into the background and also make the photo look like a drawing. I got the final image this morning and have already placed an order with a tshirt maker to have it printed on a shirt. I’m going to wrap the shirt up and tell him ‘I found the redhead version for you!’ but then see how long it takes him to figure out that it’s ME on the shirt. 😉

          Here is the image:

Here is the preview image the shirtmaker gave me:

I’m so excited about it! The only thing not real in that pic is the big design in the back; I used Hubby’s personal shield and helmet as well as his favorite faux raven! 🙂 Pretty neat, eh? I’m hoping he likes it; he’s always said he wanted to get a good pinup style pic of me to paint on his motorcyle too so hopefully this will work for that as well.

Will be giving him his goodies (Shirt, framed print & the wooden stool; it has ravens carved in the top as well!) on Friday the 22nd before heading down to an event; will let you know how it goes!

Will do! I can’t wait to get her! I chose the metallic silver eyes btw; thought they would be nifty with the dorsal stripe!

Just sold my Elizabethan gown so here’s hoping she doesn’t go TOO high! XD

My old family sewing machine resides with my mom; I do too much sewing to want to use it. I actually just bought a new machine two weeks ago as my last one died in the middle of a sewing deadline for a wedding gown! Erk! I can’t remember what year it is though but it’s got the swirly bits like on the poad!

                    O_O

                    Seriously.

                    O_O

                    DO WANT!

Could this one be any more perfect for me? (Being that I iz a seamstress/costumer)

Now here’s hoping either my Elizabethan gown sells or I get a great commission so I can afford what she is worth! Now which eyes… Wish there was a red eye option…

Sorry for the slight delay everyone; it’s been a hellish week for me. It’s time for the Holiday 2010 Gift Swap to get started!

PLEASE NOTE: It seems with every swap we get a few more people that can’t meet the deadlines. We all totally understand that life sometimes happens but PLEASE, if there is even a hint of a problem let me know so we can either plan to switch someone out or at the very least inform all involved of delay. Thank you!!

What it is: If you enlist, your name gets thrown into a hat. You will receive the name of one person, and someone else will receive your name. Your goal is to put together a small care package for that person. Letters, candles, incense, chocolate, bath goodies, foodie goods, craft-store finds, etc. Something nice to brighten his or her day. You might even get a new friend out of the deal.

                      Timeline:
                      October 7th, 2010 — Sign-ups open
                      October 31st, 2010 — Sign-ups close
                      November 1st, 2010 — Swapper notifications
November 15th, 2010 — The last day to notify me of a back-up need
December 1st, 2010 — Last Day to put packages in the mail

                      General Guidelines:
                      — All US domestic packages *MUST* have shipping confirmation/a tracking number.
                      — It is suggested you include at least 3 items in your package if you are getting smaller gifts; if you wish to send one large item that is fine too.
                      — General price range will be $25 – $35 total spent on gift items, though if you’d like to invest more, that’s fine. And $25 is not a mandatory minimum that you have to spend– if you’re good at crafts or you have a knack for finding thrift store treasures, that’s cool, too.
                      — Please, please, do not ask to participate if you are unsure about your ability to follow through on your end. Yes, there are generous people who have and will throw together back-up packages so that no one gets left out. No, that does not mean that it’s okay to flake. Please note: November 15th is the absolute last date to tell me that you need to bow out.

                      Got it? Good! 🙂

To participate, please fill out this questionnaire and email it to Traci at CrimsonVision dot net (please make sure to type out my email the correct way rather than just copying and pasting; trying to avoid spammers!), with the subject line “Windstone Holiday 2010 Gift Swap”
