See, this is why I wanted to start this thread! 🙂 Yay!
Rude is rude. Circumstances around it might change how you react to it but it doesn’t change the fact that someone is being rude.
As far as someone saying that; while I don’t agree with it I can understand it if they are desperate for money. I’ve had to swallow my pride more than once. :p
machineguts wrote:Will you be posting your latest work anytime soon Crimson? 🙂
Sure! I haven’t done anything recently as I’ve been so busy with the remaining SCA stuff I needed to do and the holidays. This weekend is my first weekend home since early September & I get the majority of my work done on weekends since I have a full time job as well (I work for a Defense contractor).
I have a few things on my plate; Jasmine’s raffle win gown (Gothic Tower gown from Moulin Rouge), a commission for Susan’s gown from Prince Caspian, an SCA outfit for a friend & the beginnings of a victorian wedding gown for March delivery. Lots to do but I’m excited to get back to sewing!
I’ve also just figured out what I want to do with 15 yards of teal silk taffeta I bought myself a few months ago; I have a rule against buying fabric if I don’t already have something planned for it but I had to get this fabric as it was on sale for the ridiculously low price of $6 per yard (usually around $20 a yard!) and it was TEAL SILK TAFFETA! (I luff teal) Anyways; I just found the portrait yesterday & I am in love so this will be made for myself. Thinking about changing the gold accents to silver though; I’ve never been a ‘gold’ person:
Small pic & link to a BIG version of it (which looks a little more blue than teal on my comp) http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2670/4154936459_4dfb94c004_o.jpg
Question for you all. Should I post here (Community) or in the ‘General Art Discussion’ when I have something to share?
Ok, you guys are cheating naming Melody & Jennifer. 😉
Flap Cat seems happy in his new home… not too sure how the Poads feel about it. 😆
Sent the scans that I have! 🙂
Keplilly wrote:Hey, I just realised that I may have a pic of you from Dragoncon one year. It is the same as one of the pics you have in your footer. The one with wings. Small world. 🙂
Too funny! I’d love to see it! 🙂 I missed DragonCon this year but already have my rooms booked for next year!
Ok, got the pics!
Most of my goodies! (How funny is the ‘Don’t eat the yellow snow!’ candy?!?)
Pearl checking out the cute little devil pug
The sign caught most of the flash but I think dark little Pearl in the background is funny!
The BIG gift; I opened this last and squealed when I did!! (This pic isn’t mine but I couldn’t get a good pic of it)
Thank you again!!
*Does the happy dance*
OMG, I can’t believe I’m the first one to get my goodies. and OMG i can’t believe the awesome stuff I got! Took some pictures but have to wait for hubby to get home to upload them to the computer. :p
Machineguts, you are the BESTEST! I had a really bad/stressful day and this really made me feel alot better! Thank you so much!!
I thought it would be neat to see other people’s favorite artists outside of Windstones. I don’t just mean painting but ANYTHING!
Here are three of my favorites in no particular order:
1) http://www.parrishrelics.com/ – Jen of Parrish Relics is an amazing jewelry artist. I am lucky enough to own one of her gorgeous Tudor roses and she is currently making me a ‘creature’ portrait necklace with my three pugs. Ever see the show ‘Ugly Betty’? Jen is respinsible for Betty’s iconic ‘B’ necklace that she always wears. Be sure to check out her Etsy link; great deals in there!
2) http://home.texoma.net/~bperkins/gallery.html – Amy/Amalia can pretty much do everything. I first met her through the SCA when I went to her house to get a custom gown pattern made. She used to mostly do costumes (fantastic costumes!) but now does so much more. She recently made our coronets (for our medieval reenactment group, the SCA) and a gorgeous elaborate pin for me as well as an amazing silk venetian gown for me earlier in the year. She makes shoes, furniture, sculptures & more.
3) http://www.etsy.com/shop/sihaya09 – Another friend of mine, Christina does some gorgeous jewelry work too. Much of it is very delicate and in lovely actual gemstones. I have several of her pieces and have had her do custom work for me in the past as well.
Ok, so you can see my favorites tend to be sparklie things I can wear. Heh. Here is a new link to an artist I just recently found:
http://doggiedrawings.net/ – I only just recently found her but I LOVE her work. I am dying to get pics of my three pugs done but I can’t decide if I want a pic with all three of them in it at once or seperate pics of each yet. LOL! Plus a portion of the cost goes to animal rescue; can’t go wrong with that!
So what are your favorites! Please share!
Ok! I haven’t gotten any emails from anyone saying they need to back out so it’s final! 🙂
I’m personally still putting my gifts together too so don’t feel bad if yoiu are as well! 😉
I posted this in the Flea Market section but I thought maybe I would have more luck here. 😳
I am looking to buy a PYO blank; hopefully a Dragon, Keeper or Griffin. Anyone have one of those they would like to part with? Please PM me!
REMINDER!!
Tomorrow is the last day that you can tell me you need to back out of the swap! Please be sure to make your decision by then! Will be posting again tomorrow. 🙂
Here is a pic with flash; the candle is lit as well inside
