On our quick trip this weekend, my hubby and I went to the B&J’s Factory. Well, one of them, there are 2 in VT. It was fun and we got to sample free ice cream. Took the tour and learned about the company’s mission statement. Pretty neat. Then ofcouse we bought ice cream…Thier new flavor, Creme Brulee is unbelievably good. It would be a toss up wether I would want sex or ice cream, it’s THAT good….It even has little sugar crispies like the top of real creme brulee…my favorite…

Wow, it really does take all kinds huh?? It is unreasonable to think a seller would hold an item that long. I think I read somewhere on ebay that any auction was to be paid within 30 days or considered null and void. If she does leave you negative feedback, I would absolutly return the favor stating Buyer expected 30-45 day payment terms. In the future you should include what your terms are, whether they are 3 days, 7 days or 10 days. Whatever seems reasonable to you, tho I think for most folks paying within 3 days is typical. I also restrict people with 0 feedback. I actually had a fraudulent bidder win an auction with negative feedback, meaning -1….After that I set buyer requirements. Ebay can be great, but it can also be a nightmare.

Ugh, I’m *trying*to paint a damn Kirin. She/he is not coopperating in the least!! First, I tried an orangy color w/ gold highlites, yuck….then I added brown, looked like halloween…then tried pink & gold, again YUCK! By now I have SO many layers of paint on the poor thing I’m loosing some finer scales…I think I’m going to send him/her to the PYO grave yard, or maybe just spray her to look like stone….

in reply to: dried up paints… #577713

I found these little plactic paint plates. They are round with little depressions in them. Like the ones we used in art class in grade school. They come with 1 cover that fits over the dish. These work really well for me….

This one is going to hurt to sell, but alas, bills come regardless of my feelings….

I started with Liquitex pink & concentrated metallic white mixed. I did 2 coats of the pale metalic pink. Then did 2 coats of just the metalic white to tone down the pink. Then did the usual…

I really love her, she was a breeze to do. She just wanted to be pink, white and gold! She’ll go on the ebay chopping block when I get around to it….

in reply to: Is it OK to do this? #577739

Yes a small amount of retarder. I used the low setting and a fan blowing cool air and it seems to be ok. It’s not hard dry yet, but dry enough to paint on without my paint pulling….Thanks!!

Use a blow to dryer to help speed up paint drying? It’s pouring buckets here and my darn paint won’t dry!! Will it hurt if I use a blow dryer on low heat?

    in reply to: Masking #577234

I use masking fluid, the Windsor & Jensen stuff from Michaels. Found it in the art section, with the artists paints, not the crafting section. I put it on with an old brush and after it dries I put on another layer, then another and so on. I like to put it on thick, that way it comes off easy. I also use a sharp razor to cut around the edges to ‘break the seal’ sorta and a SMALL sharp pair of jewelers tweezers(or even pointy eye brow tweezers) to gently lift and pull it off. I haven’t had any trouble at all, besides the paint pulling up if I got the masking fluid on the sculpt and then painted over it.

I always use it, especially if I’m using pastels because I use a spray fixative that would coat the eyes, horn or gem of said critter….

I’m glad I didn’t pay top dollar, cause he’s got a glue job….Flea bites too….And DIRTY!! He needs a long hot bath!! It almost looks like he has a coating of hair spray on him in places!! I’ll post photos after he climbs out of the tub….

Ok, he is the darker green. I keep getting confused, becaue to me emerald should be a dark green and Jade lighter….But, he’s dark, so is he emerald or jade?? And, can I still get touch up paint? Do I contact Karen or Susie?
