I use the pearl ex stuff all the time. I keep to ones that don’t say macro. I love the interference colors and i use the pearl white on almost every dragon to give shimmer…..I also found these, but haven’t tried any yet…..

Yup, just ask me. The mediums I use that are ‘powders’ are chaulk pastels & Pearl Ex pigments by Jaquard. The pastels are just that, the pastel sticks we used as kids(NOT cra-pas), they feel like chaulk. I scrap them with a razor blade to produce a very fine powder, or in the case of the newest brand in my arsenal, Unison, I just run my brush over the stick itself.
To get the metallics, I use the pearl ex. They are just little tubs of metalic powder and I apply them with a brush. I have found them at AC Moore and Dick Blick….
doubletap1. She won the unicorn I had up. I only allow 3 days for payment and she hasn’t followed thru yet. I did send her an invoice. she hasn’t been in any contact either. I don’t know if she is a member here or not. I would just like to know if she really wants the unicorn, otherwise I’m gonna relist it….
I’ve had a couple like that, what a pain in the tush!! I ended up giving them acetone baths and starting fresh, just watch out for the eyes on the dragons, they would be impossible to get back in…
*whines* Am I asking too much money?? I can’t beleive I don’t have any bids on my griffin yet, with an hour to go!! i know i’m asking alot, but he’s beautiful and took forever!!!!!!! *sigh* Sorry, no one is home i can whine too….

she’s all pastels, browns & cream and some gold. Interference doesn’t show up…She was lots of fun!! I’ve been wanting to try a dragon in pastels for a awhile, I wasn’t sure if it would work or be more work then it was worth. Over all, I’m very pleased with how she turned out. Again, pics aren’t very flattering…
when I get better pics, I’ll update and remove the link to ebay….
OMG! I may have to throw my hat into the game on this one!! Tho the price I may end paying will be a secret I take to the grave!! 😆
And besides, I think she should come live with me, my last name is after all Sinnamon…
Thanks all!! Yes, I too am hoping for a good return on the griffin. He was a lot of work even tho his coloration looks easy, it really wasn’t.
here is a new dragon for yah….Green is pearl ex pigment powder, violet is golden brand w/ pearl ex pearly white added, then a couple more coats of pearly white powder over the while thing, then high gloss varnish brushed on….It’s always funny to me when I’m working on a PYO, I usually hate them in the middle of the work, but end up liking them after they are completed….
I’m glad you guys like them!! Sorry, he has to go to ebay, I’m broke too and have bills coming up 🙄 I will have another griff coming up soon tho, I have one more in the basement…

here is my first muse…isn’t she sweet? Except for the copper & gold accents, she is completely pastelled andsealed in a high gloss varnish.
and here is my latest peice. I am SO proud of him! He is completly done in pastels, even the antiquing on his feet. I used 2 different cream colors and 3 browns, all unison pastels by the way, which I am loving! He took a lot of coats of the creams, the color change is subtle between the two but I think that he has a nice color depth because of it. He will be on ebay shortly.
