New ones, and one old one…..Just got a new camera and it took a better pic of the green one. I’m still learning how to use it….

This guy has an airbrushed basecoat. He also has antique copper on his crest, belly and sides. I also used violet interference. I really like his belly and tale, they look really marbled with copper and purple…

This one is done in a black base coat, then I used the copper leaf sheets that had varigated colors in it. After I messed around with the leaf, I tried antiquing in copper, but it didn’t show up. At this point I hated the PYO and was going to scape it and start over. I’m so glad I didn’t. I gave it one last chance and antiqued in umber and voila! I love it! Because of the varigated colors, you will see gold, copper, orange, purple….He is so pretty in real life!

Here is the green one that didn’t sell on Ebay. I’m still playing with the camera trying to get his true colors to photo properly. This is one of my favorites and I really wish i could get his colors to show up the way he looks in real life….

Thanks Kyrin! I was hoping you would reply, being the repair guru that you are! How long before the AS is too set up? I thought it only stayed workable for an hour? I hope this stuff has a shelf life too, I have some I got a while ago….

A while ago I posted that I have had this tan griff for years, busted up in a shoe box. I glued him back together, and then tried using an air drying clay to fill in the missing parts. It’s gritty tho, so it didn’t do what I wanted. Thats wwhere he has sat for a long time. I want to get around to fixing him, but I want to make sure I’m not missing something critical. So, here are the steps I think I need to do, what do you think?

    1. Clean up gritty clay areas
    2. Get out apoxie sculpt
    3. Resculpt areas, 1 at a time.

Question, how do I work with this stuff? How do I keep it from sticking to my fingers or tools? Do I sculpt my details while it is ‘wet’ or do I wait until it’s dry?

after the apoxie sculpt dries, do I need to sand it, or can I proceed to painting? Does it need a primer? I’m planning on putting masking fluid over the griff’s chain and gems to keep them clean, eyes also ofcourse. Then I plan on either airbrushing or pasteling him. I haven’t decided if I want to keep him similar colors or maybe go with white and gold. He will NEVER be for sale, so I’m not worried about copyright stuff, I just want him to be whole again.

    Thanks!!

Yes, well I could see how it would be hard to stress when you have flowers blooming…..ofcourse, we on the other hand are getting *another* 6 inches of snow tonight 🙄 …

It sounds like you guys have a good handle on the move, even if you are still in the thick of it.

Wow! Everyone’s PYos are so pretty! I’m sorry Kujacker about not posting pics. I have been so busy! Plus, the camera is at the new house and the dragon is here…so….Now, those photos you posted do not due him justice at all!!! He is SO much prettier in real life, I’m SO happy with him!!! I love the colors you used and the paint job is perfect!!

Plus, I got all these goodies in the box!! The candies with the lions on them were amazing!!! Thank you so much, you did a fantastic job!!

in reply to: How is the move coming? #681916

No no no, I asked you how your move was going!! 😆 Mine is ok. We are staying in the same town we were in, just got a larger house that needs finishing. Living w/ 2 kids and a dog in a 1 bedroom log cabin is getting a little tight, and don’t even ask me how much money I spent on gas since march 3rd 😯 …. Hopefully we will only be here for a few more weeks and then we can get into the new house…

With all the stuff we are doing on our new house, and with yet another move looming, I can feel for you!

Thanks!! It is so totally worth all the work! I can’t wait to live there!

We did get a very good deal. We started at 180k and ended up at 190000. It appraised at 250k unfinished, so we already have equity. The house is a two story dormered cape w/ 1 car garage underneath and a huge sun room off the back. I think it’s just shy of 1900 sq. ft.

I’m really into natural colors (shocked right? 😆 ), the living room and dining room will be a peanut butter shade, the kitchen is a sand color called cracked wheat, the sun room will be a creamy almost yellowy butter shade. Both baths will be antique white and have grey and white tile in them. The kitchen and hall are getting a brown tile and the rest of the downstairs is getting a coffee colored wood laminate. I’m really excited to seee the wood laminate down. We got the kind that is 1 plank per peice, instead of the usual 3 peice per plank look. Upstairs we are doing carpets. Kids are getting a light fog grey and we are getting THE most beautiful green moss color. natalie’s room will ofcourse be pink(her choice, not mine!), while noah’s room will be partially blue and partially Star Wars. Our room will be a color called dried cherval. it’s a nice green, hubby picked it out…

I’ll post some photos tomorrow, the camera is at the house….

My hubby and I have been looking at an unfinished house for 3 years. it is in the same town we live in, just bigger. Being a family of four, the single story, 1000 square foot house was getting too small. We entered negotiations last spring with the contractor that owned it. He biult it but was unable to finish it due to illness. his agent called us one day and said the house was going into foreclosure and would be auctioned the next day. we tried to come up with $10,000 dollars for the next day, but couldnt. So, my hubby went to the auction anyway. Turned out the contractor’s lender bought it from himself. They still didn’t want to sell it for what we offered. They told my husband these exact words:
‘I don’t care if it’s two months or two years from now, the price is $239,000’.
They still hadn’t listed it with any agent and didn’t have it posted for sale. So, again in the summer we made an offer. Two months later they verbally agreed. but still we no signed contract with them..until October! At that point we put our little house on the market and finally sold it. We closed on Feb 22 in a snow storm. So then we were free to order everything the new house needed…
Which was just about everything. The house needed a furnace, some plumbing work, the well connected, the sewer connected, some insulation, complete interoir paint work, flooring, a kitchen, bathroomn fixtures, door handles, lighting….

A lot of it we are doing ourselves, a lot we are having contractors do. The furance is in, the toilets are in. The ceiling is painted. The window frames are all patched and spakled and mostly primed and mostly caulked. I have been working endlessly on the trim work. So, thats where I have been…

The flooring starts next week and the kitchen in early april sometime….

The green dragon is up for sale in the Flea Market section…

in reply to: Green Dragon PYO For Sale #679706

So, since she didn’t sell on Ebay, I’ll take the first offer of $75 plus $10 shipping…Pm me if you are interested…

The pictures do not do her justice. She isn’t as monochromatic as she looks. She is a deel Pthalo green(blue shade) down to a lighter green and finally a metallic champagne on her belly scales. All gold is done in liquid leaf. She really is pretty….

in reply to: PYO Keeper Dragon is now available! (Jan 11, 2008) #655396

OMG! My heart started racing when I saw this post!! I thought they came available after Melody said they wouldn’t and I missed them… *phew* 😆

in reply to: Too Bizarre for Words #679300

OH MY! My question would be what happened two years ago when she started living in the bathroom? They lived together for 16 years. Can you imagine how much her legs must have hurt with an infection in them? That alone would have caused such an odor! Poor, poor thing!

in reply to: I got my swap! #675467

GOT MINE!!!! *does a little dance* Kujacker painted for me and did a beautiful dragon! I love it! I will take pics later today or tomorrow…I’m heading back out to the new house to continue work…
