IMPORTANT! Guys, I gotta cancel even this contest. I’m very, very sorry, but it’s something I gotta do and I apologise if you started already. I will update you all on the situation soon, but needless to say it has to do with more medical crap.
I just finished up a commission for a KiRin I posted in the gallery. http://www.windstoneeditions.com/galleries/displayimage.php?album=lastup&cat=0&pos=1 I do have a couple more commissions to do which are repeats of others I’ve done before so just letting you guys know I’m still around and working, just a bit slower than ever before.
Well, hopefully when I have the money to lay down. Maybe a poad will be my one and only Windstone keeper.
Wow, I’m gone for a week and now everyone has poads?! I’ve been way out there I guess. Will there be more in other colors released soon?
Hey guys and thanks for all your support yet again. At least I get a community feeling from people on-line where I might not get them from people in RL. Also, Skigod I do still have you down for the large PYO dragon so that’s still locked in, no worries…couts towards of my my commissions.
Also, when I do finish up the new male Oriental repaint and emperor, I’ll show them in a link to my own forum, but not on the Windstone one. I still have about 3 more outstanding commissions left to fnish that are too overdue but after that I’ll get started on the repaints.
As for alternate medicine, I’ve been wanting to try it where the expense isn’t too great. I have only looked into it minorly but that will probably change soon. But I do feel 100% better now that my monthly is over…it’s just such a horrible bad time of the month for me and it gets worse every month it seems…this was one of the longest and worst ones yet and to have a female gyno say they can offer me nothing and just take a Tylonal…well, I don’t plan to re-see that doctor again! As far as blood clot stuff goes…as far as I know my chest scans were negative but they still have be on blood thinners and my doctor told me to come in next week because he didn’t schedule to see me yesterday avdn though he said he would to discuss going off the blood thinners! It was outraging and a waste of my time and money yet again. It’s like they just don’t want to give me what I need to hear but keep drawing it out like a movie where it just feel like it’ll never end.
Most of the depression I feel right now is related to seeing a doctor about the monthly agony I suffer and the tool it takes on me each and every month which keeps getting worse, and being told there is nothing they can do for me since I no longer can take hormones…but at the same time not giving me any kind of prescription for any pain killers or any hope about birth control options or just…anything good at all. And this is the medical advice I pay for! It’s a really long story, and kinda TMI, but I’ve come to my wits end over this issue. It has upset the balance of my life a great deal and ed to my ortho evra useage and blood clotting, and now leads to nowhere, no hope of getting any cure or being fixed (figuratively and otherwise) to cure my situation.
As for the blood thinners…still on them. I see the doctor again tomorrow for yet another blood test and he better let me know I can go off them because my CT chest scan didn’t show clots. I do not want to remain on these drugs. I want to live my own life. And how dare my gyno say it wasn’t the patch that caused my clots but the little form of lupus the other doctor newly caught, which I had tested negative for back when I got hit with the clotting! You never know who to trust ever anymore and who to listen to.
If there was only a for-sure way to make decent money consistantly for your time and effort that would be just fine…but it’s never 100% ever, and sometimes you almost have to settle for less in order to get jobs. You’re the forst other artists that I know whom I’ve asked that has ever admitted to regretting being an artist. Most I have spoken to never have. But yeah, if I could have the skill or smarts to do some other thing well, like engineering or doctoring, or vet stuff…whatever, I’d be all over it. But all I’m good at is…well…all these different art forms which just don’t really lead to anywhere.
I’m just hopping on here to let everyone know that those that bought unpainted PYOs or artwork from me off ebay, you’ll be getting your stuff soon except in the case of the custom painted golden oriental, which needed a longer clear-coating time and will get shipped Thursday.
I haven’t been feeling super well at my end, dealing with health issues and doctor-related frustration and depression, and no ssming cure for certain things in my life. On the plus side I no longer have any outstanding major medical bills, though on the downside I no longer have any Windstones save the family I set aside for the kirin painting contest. Oh well, Windstones have been there for me over the years, helping me pay off vet bills and now medical bills of my own, so I’m satisifed with that.
Artistically I’m kinda in a slump. while now I do feel better enough to continue painting I’m only going to do so to clear away my commissions, and won’t be painting any PYOs for sale on ebay or showcasing or whatever. I guess I’ve completely lost the ambition. actually lately I find most artistic stuff I do not really worthwhile but it’s probably a mood thing. As I go where the money goes, I’m seeking a new outlet. It seems to constantly change.
I don’t know if anybody else has ever had the feeling of regretting that they were artistically inclined but I can tell you I have often regretted it, wishing I had been more suited for work that actually pays off and can be an real career. Oh well.
Anyway, I’m still around but haven’t been on the forum lately. I’ll try to stick around a while though because I love seeing the PYOs you guys are painting up. Very cool!
I bought this a while back: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&ih=014&sspagename=STRK%3AMEWA%3AIT&viewitem=&item=330083041395&rd=1&rd=1
and after spending about that same price for shipping it to me (they went CRAZY with bubble wrap and boxes!), I primered it and it’s ready to paint. My originalt idea was to paint it like a horse being painted and coming to life, leaping off the canvas with it’s rump still unpainted, but if anyone is interested in commissioning me to do horses they’d want, I’m game for that. I’d ideally want no less than $50 to paint it since it’s fairly large. 18″W x 4½”D x 12½” tall. It’s also quite heavy, so I would NOT ship this outside the US.Is it a flat piece of art you wanted to win but they did instead? If so, I might be able to run a print of the piece…but it depends since a lot of what I posted I don’t have print files of, so let me know asap while I still have the art in hand and can possibly scan anything I don’t have a file on.
If I only get a couple entries the contest will be scrapped though, so I do need the entries and I think everyone stands a fair chance of winning really, since they would all be 100% unique in every way. But again, if I don’t get 7 they will be returned to their owners and I’ll just repaint the dragons I guess and put them up on ebay or something. I can’t really afford to have them right now.
Is each poad going to be painted differently then? Each being OOAK? Or are you going to select different color runs and mass produce them?
AWW! I was so hoping poads would be PYOs! There’s no wrong way to paint one and I think I like their look better than the muse.
I posted this in the General Windstone section but it was a better idea to post it here:
I was at a Jewel or Dominicks store and some kid had a temporary Windstone art tattoo. I asked the mom about it and she said she bought them years ago and that she only just found them in her stuff so gave them to her son. They were someone’s drawings of the Father Dragon…peacock colors…and VERY well done. Perfect replications in 2D form of the 3D sculpture. Did Windstone sanction temporary tattoos at any time during its career? Based on the image it was a very well-executed piece of art.
Oh, and the woman also said it was in a pack of all-dragon tattoos like that, including one standing up she had seen once in a store…so probably the Emperor dragon I’m guessing, since it seems like Windstone’s signature piece.
