Awesome image…is that what you’ve got or planning to get? Also, Enchantments, you used to do tattoos? Awesome. I had considered going into the business myself but didn’t know if it was my thing since I can’t draw people.

The green KiRin…decided to not add the stripes on his back and leave it as is. It’s colored in the same hues as the Leopard Frog Dragon.

Awesome work! I love the design and execution of the stripes. Might have to try my own eventually.

Awesome, I am having fun getting images of koi and koi tattoos on-line. I will probably need to draw up several tattoos before I decide on just one, so I will show you what I do come up with, and if anybody likes it you can have it too. Plus I’ll need to do color swatches too but the one black and white koi with the red forehead somehow strikes me special…and knowing the story of the cranes is even better. That may just be the koi for me!

Also, what I plan to draw up are kois but also koi dragons, in my style. I think doing a cross-over hybrid koi between koi and dragon would be awesome since it’s hardly ever done. Just think…a koi with noce oriental dragon horns. I’ll probably make longer fins too.

The pronounciations on that web site are awesome! Great to hear it spoken and not spelled out.

Well, be it color combo or the hightened text effects on people, a lot of folks are into that dragon. I am very curious how much it will sell for.

I will say that as a PYO painter and seller I get asked by EBAYers if I work for Windstone Editions as a painter or what affiliation I have with the company, or if my colors will become a Windstone Editions production release soon. And countless times on Deviant Art I am praised for my sculpting work even though I keep telling folks I don’t carve them, just paint them…so there is some confusion even when you DO spell things out. Either people don’t read all the way or they just see it and love it and want it.

No Windstone can ever be a loss. I did enjoy painting it and I think someone else wuld love to give it a home, and no worries. I know I can get my $40 back on her at least so that’s what counts when something like this happens, as it were.

Dragon, well, it’s kinda difficult (you probably know though, lol) when you try to descibe a piece to someone when they want certain colors but then leave bits to you for your own free reign. That, and it’s just not always easy to understand each other. This piece was kinda like that…the commissioner wanted set colors but I added silver, a little too much so I suppose in my free reign; and the red is too red, it needs to be darker than what I used and have no silver…but you can’t explain colors well in emails, lol. The commissioner did like the dragon, but it’s not the picture she had in her head for it. So, I’ll just do another without silvers and with deeper reds in a different pattern. There just wasn’t really time to do a Photoshop color pattern thingie and even then Photoshop colors aren’t 100% to paint either.

The leopard frog KiRin is…done, I think. But it has no stripes…without stripes it’s really not like a frog, but it does match the same colors like on the dragon…so now I’m torn if I should add solid stripes on the KiRin’s back or not…that may or may not look weird. Then again, it might look cool. I just don’t know.

As for the gold ruby…I guess I’ll post him on ebay after my frog dragon sells.

in reply to: PYO dragon. Watch out, he's blue! #530651

That’s a killer piece! I do have but one suggestion…and that is to use a nice darker blue to antique it. Do that and it’ll be as awesome as a production piece. Very well done blue dragon you got here!

Wow thanks for all the help guys! I’ll definately be looking up that info. As for the tattoo parlor, I may have found one close to me that’s decent. It’s very clean and everyone that has gone there speaks highly of it. I did go visit and looked at some stuff…not too bad, though I’m amazed at how unoriginal or unmeaningful some people can be about ther tattoos…but to each their own.

Looks like I’ll be doing a new golden ruby. This one had too much silver for the client. No worries though, the next will have deeper reds and no silver.

That’s awesome Dragon…I can’t wait to see that. I’ve though of trying it but not sure really how it would look. Even if we did the same two dragons though, yours would ultimately look vastly different than mine.

in reply to: Whats in the name? #528249

Yes, I hope it does. It’s situations like this that make me afraid for Windstone and for the PYO painters too, because a few things like this could stop production of PYOs (maybe)…at least that’s one thing I fear. Perhaps this issue needs to be mentioned on the web site just in case…so that other non-forum mebers can know not to step wrong in the future.

Oh yeah, I’m doing a KiRin to atch the leopard frog dragon. Wee!

The yellow I used was a metallic light golden. I will double check the brand for you Ski.
