I’m so sorry about this…I don’t know WHAT happened to me or my crazy Valentines idea but I won’t be doing this again. Warning, don’t click this link if you’re easily revolted!
You guys gotta slow down, lol, I’m still waiting on my Windstone shipment before I can start painting for my trades. Everything I got right now is already started with paint jobs. You should see the lineup, lol…in their beginning stages they all look so blotchy and sucky with just the one base coat on.
No, I’m not taking a picture of the uglies lineup!
Oh no,m I won’t paint over the koi dragon windstone PYO I painted…I meant repaint a McFarlane toy dragon figure.
I think I recall that McFarlan…wasn’t it a sea dragon of some kind? I should buy a couple of those to custom paint, lol, they are decent dragons.
Yeah, I just have a real problem ordering paint on-line when I can’t see it first, you know?
I finally went out to Dick Blick and picked up the Golden Interferance paints…and boy am I glad that I waited until I saw them in person because I don’t like how the Oxide colors look compared to the fines. What do you guys think of them comparitively speaking?
Right now on all my current EBAY auctions I’m adding interferance paints to them, especially a nice purple sheen to the Valentine Wolf and blue to the koi dragon.
I am not yet sure if I will leave the koi dragon Tat that way yet but we’ll see. Glad you like the paint job though…I wasn’t sure how well that would really go over. I like it anyway.
Hmm, I know of no sprays…I always brush my finishing coats on by hand, though I have been thinking of converting over to a spray. I use Delta Cermacoat or any of the smaller bottles of matte finish. They are definately matte. It sounds like you have something like a satin finish…which is sorta between gloss and matte. Bogus you didn’t get what you paid for but at least you can use it on dragons. In some cases, I coat my KiRin mane in matte and the scales in gloss…its a real nifty-fun look.
You can apply a matte finish over the other glossy coat if you don’t like the gloss. It’ll tone that down right up for you.
You did an amazing job on this. These colors aren’t always easy to get together right. Looks like an awesome conure to me.
Thanks collector. I do really like him myself too, but then I like almost everything I paint one way or another.
Glad you like it…I like your koi ki-rin.
Sorry, I’m only going to use my own forum links from now on. You don’t have to read the story (it’s cross-posted from the General Art section at Windstone), so scroll until you see pics.
I really like it, though I preferred it without the gold in the wings personally, but maybe that’s just the photo giving me issues. I think it came out awesome though, and blended well.
Yeah? I’ve always preferred more silver to gold myself. I wonder what a silver, black, and red calico or koi dragon would look like…
