I just noticed the posting for an emperor dragon in Indigo test paint but it’s 255. Right now that’s out of my price range but do you think she will produce other test paint ones with the other dragon figures? Because even if it’s an LP I still would love to have a test paint piece for my collection. The Indigo is just breathtaking and would look fantastic next to any red piece of art by Windstone. Oh I would so love to have it if I had the money :((
Thank you everyone for your warm and inviting welcomes. I feel really at home here not only looking at the dragons but also having the forums to look for particular pieces of interest and learning about the various colors and limited/ non-limited edition pieces. Though I am considering the Idea of a paint your own piece for a close member of my family. Does anyone have suggestions on who to ask about a very extensive piece that will require a lot of time and airbrushing over all with various color tones ranging from light to a gemstone toned dark colors? it will be complicated and possibly troublesome more then likely though I seen some of the PYO works and would like to see an art drawing concept if able.
Sorry I know this is not the place to post this, but I am really looking for suggestions from anyone that been on here longer then me. Thanks Again!

Ack! So much information to download into my brain.lol though I am enjoying the learning experience, though I did not know melody was on DA I am a member so I will have to add her to my watch list. I am unsure about the raffles and quest I don’t know how thw would work on here. However I think I will be just fine here looking into new items for my collection like the Black Vp collection since it is limited and would look great with my current collection.
Lol, yeah I am already falling in, I mean I been looking at various colors and learning more information about what’s constant and what’s limited edition so it helps. I like knowing the various types so I can build my collection. I am considering a pyo for my sister in law phoinex statue in a gradation from light yellow to orange and red then down into the deep garnet,emerald,ruby,sapphire,amythest and ending tail feathers in black. She a huge phoinex fan so I thought this would make the perfect birthday gift for her this year. As for me the dragons are my favorite I love all the tones just to have a small family collection would make me happy that way I can pass it down to my Childern possibly thinking of getting the copper dragon for my mother.
It’s okay lol, like I said I am considering my options but I really like the black vp but I will wait and see what I can get when the time comes. Plus I have to discuss the options with my partner to see which he thinks will be the best option for our collection. As you all can see I am not really that pick about the colors just the particular dragons lol though I love them all in each and every color just can’t. Afford to get them all.
A hatchling and Fledling. I am looking for certain dragons like Emperor, Mother, lap,old warrior, young and male dragons. Thanks for the help oh and they don’t have to be in Red Fire though it would be nice, but I will take Black-Violet or Black gold as well.
I already emailed bill he got a buyer for the scratcher already. I am still considering the black-violet kiya but I may go the black-gold because it’s closer to the red color scheme but who knows if I get the black violet I will get it here or on eBay when it’s in stock but thanks everyone for the info and help trying to find these beauties especially the RF colors but I have faith I will have a full collection in time. Still thank you all for your knowledge and help.

Even though the color is retired because of paint issues I will see if I can find the pecies still, if not then I will do what I planned on doing and finish the collection with a contrasting paint choice like ” Black-Violet” but if the paint problem is worked out then I will be on the look out. Though thank you for clearing that issue up for me. I hope to see the color again but I will not put my expectations to high. Though I want to know will the “Black-Violet-Peacock ” be around for a while even in small batches?
Thanks again kiya, I think I am going to wait to get anymore red fire pieces for now even if I have to pay a higher price for them later on but I think I am going to look at getting my other precise in the black violet tones that will build a greater contrast in my collection plus later on I can look at getting the the other pecies if some one sells them or a retailer has them and or I find them on eBay as you suggested. That way I have two collection hehe.

Thanks everyone, I am trying to decide what to do now. I am stuck with to options weather I get the collection piece in the color scheme I have now or do I get various peices in different tones and work my way up into owning a variety of collection peices be them old and new sculpts should they make a new sculpt in the color scheme “Red Fire” anyone have a suggestion on how to go about this? I mean my parents said they could get one for me but I have to pay off the debit for it and that cuts into my convention fund plus I already have to pay off a debit for the hotel room which may cut into my con money as well. So please any suggestion on what. I should do here? Do I go ahead an get all the dragons I want in the color scheme I have or should I get a complimentary color scheme and work on collecting both color tones if they come out with a new sculpt in the original color that I have?
Thanks kiya, it’s nice to know for sure. Now I have a difficult choice to make. Weather I spend the money on a mother dragon and pay off the debit or wait until they redo the color on a new sculpt. I mean I could have a various collection of multiple colors of the dragons and slowly work my way into making a full collection of each or I could spend the money I earn in debit to get the red fire mother now. Oh I am not sure what to do…

We should publish a comprehensive list of everything, with pictures and retired dates and all that, but we have never gotten around to this. That is the way we are; kinda disorganized.
I use the encyclopedia on the “astral Castle ” website to answer specific questions about when things were retired. http://astralcastle.com/windstone/wsframe.htmI have no plans to retire any dragon colors we are presently making right now, but we are making most of them in small numbers so they may be sold out frequently.
Peacock is retired, but we still make Emerald Peacock.BUT if I make new dragon sculpts, we might paint those in colors that have been retired on the other dragon sculpts.
Thanks Melody for the link though I am curious, if you could answer this question to help clear up any confusion on my end. On the main WindStone editions site they said that Red Fire is retired but on the link you sent me it say that it’s not and that it came out 2008, is this color a limited production piece or is it retired or on a back order? I am just trying to clear up the confusion in regards to the dragons published in this particular color scheme any help in this matter would be highly appreciated. Thanks again Mrs. Melody.
