At the time they were totally unique, because they were the first Windstones that were ‘special’ being sold (if I am remembering right). So people were really hyped up over them, AND the economy was better.
Same thing for the first prototype Old Warriors. It’s been at least 4.. 5? Years since then though and a LOT of special stuff has come out since, which makes it less of a big deal. And we all know what the economy is doing. We all have a lot less to spend, on average…
Nam is exactly right about it.
I purchased direct from Windstone in (I think?) Spring of 2005. I got like the 3rd or 5th one sold and paid $700. The first one I remember was like $450. I was able to resell in the Summer or Fall of 2006 (we were moving and my Dad was terminally ill, so money was a good thing) around $1,200-1,300. Apparently my auction ignited some interest so when UltraDragonian listed one of his 2 (during the holidays) he had some high reserve like $3,000. Had he had a lower reserve it would have sold in the $2,500-2,800 range, if I recall correctly.
The Black Grands are very nice and extremely rare. If they are your holy grail piece I think they are worth paying a lot of money for. The economy is very weak right now and getting weaker (emergency unemployment was not renewed by Congress) and with the holidays less than a month away, I would be surprised if goes much over $1,000.
Hey guys, it was just brought to my attention that shipping for the catalogs is calculating way too high.
I have amended the item description to offer flat rate shipping for that item to international bidders. Details on the auction.
Selling a few things on eBay for holiday $$$:

Bi-color Siamese Cat Candle Lamp (limited production)Very nice! Congrats!
Just curious, what is the cat like figurine on top?
Absolutely a BIG THANK YOU here too! I agree with everything everyone has already said. It makes us feel a lot more connected to our collections when we get to interact with you, everyone at the factory and when we can enjoy all the extras. It is greatly appreciated.
😀
This is an item on Etsy. I have purchased a unicorn from this seller and was very pleased, but I don’t know them personally.
I thought there might be a few griffin lovers here that might like to take a look:

Sorry Miss Melody that something from me isn’t in the post! But thinking of you all the same. My mom died last year, 47 years old. It’s never easy to lose a mother, no matter the age.Me too, didn’t find out until I saw this post today (behind in my reading). I had been waiting for an email, but never heard back.
My deepest sympathies to Melody and family during this time. We are here for you and willing to help in anyway we can.
Would recommend you post the color of your set. The are collectors for both.
Jennifer wrote:Due to Melody being away on family emergency, we may or may not see a raffle piece this month. I 100% do not know as I am not at the physical Factory. Please be patient with Melody as she deals with this and is away from home. 🙂 Thanks guys.
I hope everything will be ok. Please give Melody our best wishes for a good turnout of her situation. *hugs*
P.S. We really need a hugs “smilie”
New auctions listed 8/10. These are the last auctions I will be doing for quite some time….*collapses*

Agreed, haven’t seen them. I was hoping Melody would do a Ruby or Red Fire Mother Coiled (with gold egg), but no luck so far.
Beautiful artwork! Best wishes for your sale.
Annnnddddd……they’re gone! (sorry for the South Park reference – but everything is store seems to go so fast the first time around.) 😀
Sway wrote:So badly want to put in a decent bid for the long desired Wizard cat (either colour), but our air conditioner just refuses to cool the house and the bill for that alone, is high cause it keeps running. Company tells us that in FL, when it gets to a certain temperature, no AC unit will work totally and can only cool off to a certain degree. We keep the house at 75 though wish it could be cooler. Most of the time it’s alright. But now we are having to bump the house to friggin 80 which is wicked uncomfortable, and the AC still wont cool or turn off. Btw, AC is checked several times a year, filter changed every 3 weeks in summer … nothing is actually wrong with it. But we have to suffer in heat in the house, to lower a killer AC bill which makes up 80% of our electric bill.
Rant, sorry. But I really want that dang wizard cat!!! For so many years I’ve been wanting to get it for someone and want the BW one for another person, and both of their BDays are this month (in fact, one is tomorrow)!
Good luck with the auctions. That Russet should sell nicely too.
I’m sorry to hear about your AC issues. It’s a bummer when you have bills like that coming up. I know there has been no slowing down of my bills this summer either.
Thank you on the well-wishes for the auctions. I hope the Fates of eBay are kind. 🙂
New auctions listed 8/3. 😀
