My local store has the following:
Ruby Sun Dragon $196
Peacock Riser $202
Ruby Riser $200 (?) Can’t rememberThese were on a top shelf so I assume they were undamaged pieces. The store is usually good about keeping boxes. I don’t know if they ship, but they might. No sales tax here.
If you are interested I can give you the store info.
WOW! Thank you for sharing!
I’m with the rest of you. I hope he doesn’t fall to hunters/poachers. Why do people have to be such jerks like that?!
February 13, 2008 at 10:36 pm in reply to: Grand Unicorn black vs white, something I noticed …. #665241OMG! I never noticed that. Here is the pic of my two. I have never noticed the difference in the tails until now! I’m usually pretty observant, but dang! Good catch!
The white one was one of the first produced I believe. So does anyone have a current white grand? What type of tail does it have?
Here is a pic I found on the web. It has the new tail style as well:
I got on this discussion way late. However, I am very happy to hear the resulting news of “what happened” for several reasons.
1.) Sometimes not knowing keeps from having some closure and always wondering. It was nice to find out the truth.
2.) It was very sad we lost one of our avid collectors. Having said that, I am glad she is not suffering anymore. I have lost 2 relatives to cancer and I have seen firsthand the devastation it can cause. I believe that her Windstones would have brought her great joy in her time and now the time for them to do the same for someone else has come.
3.) I normally don’t believe in “fate” per se, but seeing the unfolding events and all, I think Aetharia was meant to have them.
I think the news that Aetharia found out was good in that the family “knew” where her stuff was going (rather than just one family member making the decisions), and who knew that a collector would wonder into the shop and spot them. When I pass, I would love to have my stuff go to those who will really appreciate it – whether it be my relatives or not. I also think Aetharia showed due diligence in finding out the story and trying to return the personal items to the rightful owners.
Aetharia – I got the feeling that you feel bad for finding the collection? I don’t think you should. Nor, do I think in time – when you feel it is right to sell the items you choose not to keep. Or keep all of it if it is your wish. Just don’t feel obligated because some-one has passed away. That is an unfair guilt-trip. After going through my grandmother’s and father’s deaths and the coinciding “belonging-stuff sort” I have come to realize there are so many other important things in life. While I didn’t know this person, I have a good hunch that she would be glad to have them in the hands of others who appreciated them as much as she did. Whether it be one or multiple owners.
All will be well. You’ll see.
All of your items look wonderful. If you ever do a unicorn version of the Celtic Horses, let me know I would probably order one.
Wonderful find. PMed you.
Congrats Ski! You look very pretty in the photos. It seems like everything has been going so fast for you over the past several months. Does if “feel” like you’re married or has not really sunk in yet?
I know we must be surpassing some records, even if not 60+. I remember when we were excited about 11 people on at the same time! Whoo-hoo! π

I have both the white mother and the hatching pegasus which is why I wouldn’t want to offer for them, but I paid about 35 for my hatchling pegasus on evil-bay, and I think the mother wouldn’t go for more than about 120, or 100 on the safe side. The other option is to wait, and see if they go up in the next couple of months, there is some variation in pricing.
Thank you for the input, those are very reasonable prices. They do need to get sold (I have no room for them), but I may wait until tax returns come out. Either way I’ll have more items coming up in March that are packaged and ready to go.

Yea, they are just not getting the love. I noticed from the current Ebay market that my prices are high. Any suggestions on what to ask for them?
Warm fuzzies guys! Thanks! π³ π

Whoot! Mine is going on 7 and it will probably be 3 more years before I can replace it. If you think about it, people like us are keeping a lot of computer junk out of the landfill.
Hey guys!!! THANK YOU!!!!!!
I didn’t think anyone would remember. This really made my day! Thank you so much!!

Ack! I’m not that tech savy. Good luck though.
I have heard nothing but bad stuff about Vista. Why does Microsoft always release crap for the cost of gold? My last anti-MS run in was with Windows Millenium ME. (I still think Gates owes me some compensation for the time lost on that dang operating system.) πΏ

That is an awesome display unit.
I could use a few of those in my store, but I’d not even be able to make the down payment on one of those babies. *sigh*
Thanks! They were “relatively” inexpensive. The unit I have was about $150. More expensive than composite wood shelves from Wal-Mart, but cheaper than a $300-800 curio. I had hoped to get something more like $50-80, but everything I did find was so flimsy I didn’t trust it to hold my collection. Well, and at the time we didn’t have an IKEA in my state (we do now). Had I had the choice, I would have gone there.
