Like I said, I know the Mennonites. Some of them do have electricity and cars, but, that’s where it does get confusing. Even the newer order Mennonites look like Mennonites, there are some obvious differences.
I personally have never seen one with a cell phone, but, it’s very possible. I know that they were Mennonites since even if you try to dress up like one, you won’t look like one to people who have always been around them.
It’s funny though. Kitchener was started by Mennonites….. but, they were German…. Confused? Yes, I think I am.

As far as I know they get the plasma from the blood. So, no we don’t get anything for plasma either….
Ouch, I’m sorry to hear that. That surgery must be in the thousands. (I know for a cat almost 15 years ago it was around $2000 at least around here….)

I’m not sure, it sounds like they have the same roots. But, I don’t know for sure. My grandma was a Mennonite…. Sadly I know very little about the history of Amish-Mennonites. Here is what I’ve found though:

We don’t get money in Canada for giving blood. It’s out of the goodness of our hearts that we give. That and free cookies!
