*_* Yeah I agree it was just gorgeous.
I would be drooling over a set of dragons in THAT color.

About a week ago there was one of these on the Ebay site for sale – this color scheme is absouletly beautiful
Will we be seeing any more of this color in the future ?

in reply to: Peacock Old Warrior #780528

Did you buy him new or used?
I would love to get him since the peacock color is one of the sets I want to collect, but, unfortunately, I just can’t afford that right now.
But man, I hate when I want something and I just don’t have the funds available at the right time.
    😕

in reply to: New pieces and lowered prices – UPDATE 8/23: Ki-rins! #780399

I’d go for the mother or fledgie, if only I wasn’t already getting 2 more windstones and out of funds for the moment.
    LOL

But I want to say you seem like such a nice, honest trader/seller and that is so rare these days.

When did you get the unicorn? I’m just curious. It’s one of the hard ones to find, right?

in reply to: Pearly Pinks #779309

I’d get the pink ones! (Er, after I get a complete set of black/golds and peacocks….which might be a while…LOL)
    I think they’re stunning!

He reminds me of the Jade scratcher! Same paler muzzle and everything.

I have to say green is just lovely on these dragons! 😀

I know what you are talking about…it is the turquoise markings and pink markings that I have seen on the old green and the old brown, right? I have never seen that on a Peacock, but then I don’t have the male dragon in that color… 😕

Well now I know! I guess I figured it was some kind of lousy attempt to paint over some chips! XD XD Shows what I know…

By the by LOVE your siggy! It made me laugh! 8)

That’s true I was just thinking that perhaps it’s because of the economy.
In all honesty, I should be holding onto my $$ more too, instead of spending on Windstones, but I haven’t purchased one in over 10 years so I feel I’ve waited long enough! 😀 Sides, that’s what b-day money is for…

    ARG so unfair. LOL
    C’mon now just TWO?
You KNOW people are dying for these things!

By the by, do you find the Orientals are harder to make than the other dragons?

in reply to: Is it true? #775884

Hm, if the RF dragons do retire, they will be quite uncommon and therefore value goes up!

*sigh* If only I had thousands to spend! LOL
I would run out and buy as many Windstones as I can carry!

    😀

Only the Amethyst Hatching Dragon is above the retail price of $43; all the others cost retail. If you mean the Hatching Royalty, though, then yes, it is less than a new one of those.

Details details. 😛 Point being, a male peacock went for $51 in great condition. I hate missing out on opportunities like that ! LOL

Thanks for all the handy advice Pegasi, you’ve been a real help. As long as I’ve owned some of my Windstones I’m still a bit naive about these facts.

The peacock color is retired. So if sellers claim that they are right. If they were to claim emerald peacock is retired…they are wrong. If you ever want to know for sure what regular production pieces and colors are retired, Windstone has a handy reference page. I believe it is up-to-date, though it doesn’t list the Red Fire color as it isn’t offically retired yet.

My bad then! I’m sorry if there’s any confusion I caused.
It looked so different from the other side, like too brightly colored in that spot as opposed to the other one. I almost thought it was painted to try and cover up some bad spots!

And I have to agree, if that’s the case and this is as good as it looks as far as condition, I can’t believe it went for only $51, which is less than a brand new hatchling from the online store! 😕 😡

    in reply to: Uhhh…huh? #780401

Hey check this out. If it’s been noted already I apologize in advance.
But this peacock male just went for a mere $51, supposedly no chips or cracks.
But look at the 2nd picture…

Do you see some multi-colored well, oddness there? I sure do. Glad I didn’t bid on this one! Looks a bit fishy….I mean, unless I’m wrong and that belongs there?? 😕

in reply to: "I Just Bought A–" Celebration thread, v.4 #754092

So are you saying it’s retired or is it not retired? It really doesn’t matter, I still love the coloring. I will be more cautious though when bidding so thanks for the heads up. *sigh* Unfortunately there are some rather shady sellers out there!
I took bids on this one because I had some bday money. I wasn’t going to bid over $90.
Of course the only reason I think I got it was because it has a paint chip on the head and is less desirable. But I’m going to see if I can fix that up it’s not a huge problem to me.
    Thanks again pegasi!

Oooh, is that an emerald peacock one? Or an intense violet perhaps? He’s gorgeous! 😀

It’s retired so I’m assuming it’s the “original” peacock coloring. All I know is it’s just lovely! 😀
    Thanks!

You have to be careful believing seller’s claims that a piece is retired. Many sellers don’t really know what it is that they have or if it is truly retired. Often times, sellers know that folks tend to pay a little more for retired pieces so they will tack the word.

That being said, the piece you are getting is a peacock lap dragon. If it were an emerald peacock the wings would be green on the bottom not the blue (with a hint of purple) that the dragon you’re getting has. Another way to tell peacock and emerald peacock apart is jewel color (for the ones that have it). Peacocks have a light blue jewel and emerald peacocks have a purple jewel.
