Maybe it’s the seller and one of his/her friends trying to get attention for their item/s…they’ll repost it later and someone might bid really high for it. It’s just a possibility…but I have seen it done on other auctions.

Some of the older pieces don’t always have felt, but are stamped on the bottom of the piece. It is possible for the felt to have been lost or damaged.
Blade-of-the-Moon wrote:The Brown Male I just won Friday says he has no felt bottom….anyway, aren’t the pieces dated ?
Not exactly. The date on Melody’s pieces is the date on the sculpture that was used to make the master casting (ie. finished) (someone correct me if I got the terminology incorrect… it’s been a long day :P). So, if you were to buy a hatching dragon, it will have a date of 1984 on it, irregardless of what color or year you bought it. Some special or very limited pieces might be signed with a date on the bottom, but that is different.
Thanks for the info ! So if you don’t have a piece in hand it’s kind of hard to tell I guess.

Yeah, I agree about the shipping, but if she goes for pretty cheap, it would still be worthwhile.
I think I am going to ask if she has felt, if she doesn’t, then we’ll know she’s old.

I saw this one, really nice, orig what I wanted but opted to get a Peacock Mother instead and one is good enough for me.. π

Here’s what I found :
Wyverns

I figured someone would have asked about it before… I’m also almost certain Melody’s been asked about a Sea Dragon or something along the lines of Nessie… just saw the trailor for Waterhorse : Legend of the Deep… π
I’ll try to search for it myself…if I find anything I’ll link to it just in case anyone else wants to re-read it again.. π
I was going to start a new topic but the title would have been similar to this one… lol
Not sure if it was ever brought up ( new member ), but aside from the standing dragon that Melody told me about once before ( which would have made a great piece I think ), has a Wyvern-type Dragon ever been considered ? I think it could be sculpted perched pretty easily and would have awesome looking large wings. If the front wings are used as supports it would be really stable as well. Just a thought… π
Cool, hope you post pics ! I’ve been trying to relax since the killer-that-was-October.. and I still haven’t had much urge to paint or sculpt anything…yet.. π
I know just what you mean…usually Winter is when I get around to doing anything indoors…I wouldn’t worry those pieces will just keep humming a siren song until you can’t ignore them anymore.. π π
No intestinal problems then I hope ? We lightly dampned a few I received once and used them to fill in cracks in the ceiling…if it’s the same ones they hardened up pretty well after they dried.
Sounds like my dad, I’ll show him something ( I already bought π ) and I’ll get ” That’s nice..what was the orig price and how much did you pay for it ? ” Depending how far under the orig price also determines how great it is…. like value can be measured in dollars… π π
emerald212 wrote:The Owl Candlelamp is one of my favorites. He’s just so cute, all little and fat. π Congrats on the find. That’s a pretty good price, too.
Congrats, Blade. What color is your Male Dragon?
He’s a Brown π My Mother is a peacock, but I still bet she’ll like him… lol π
How about a variation of the ” Voices ” saying : ” I Do What The Dragons on My Shelf Tell Me To Do… “
Or closer to it : ” I do what the DRAGON in my head tells me to do… “
Maybe use one of Spectral Dragons for these ? π
When I have something sitting around that I know can be painted, adjusted, or added too it will bug me until I get to it eventually… π
I went ahead and emailed the seller of the Male Brown Dragon I just won a link to the Packing FAQ , hopefully they’ll read it…there’s really nothing else to done about sellers who just aren’t worried about their items… :/
That’s a switch..from my experiance anyway… π
I love your signature skigod…
I’m a guy and I love em’ π I have male friends who think they are nice and realistic but tend to prefer the more vicious Dragons in my collection…like the fire-breathers and open-fang-filled mouths… π
